What is the weirdest thing you've found inside a 2600 cart ?
DeV0 replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Atari 2600
I found a smurf inside,,, my smurf cart -
Baby mac General pants where selling the atari shirts but had to withdraw due to legal reasons, So dodgy markets are your best bet. You should have laughed back at them and said "at least i dont work for trash converters" Happy dude, did you go to where i said?? There where 100's when i went last time Out of my 4 C64's the latest one that is working is the newer one which is white. All 3 browns live up to their colour as none of them have sound.

Hi Baby mac I have been extra lucky in my finds, especially for atari gear. Ive only been to townsville once and dont really know my way around. I drove from sydney and checked out alot of vinnies and cash converters on the way, I saw alot of stuff but wasnt collecting at that time. Over the past 3 weeks ive managed to get about 70 2600 games, a working commodore 64 a coleco and games etc. My best advise is the flea markets, check out whats on where you live and go for it, Also cash converters. I found the smaller towns seem to be better than the big smoke as well, It seems alot of people have cottoned on here and joined the eghey wagon of joyful rip offs.

The brutal truth is that there are plenty of parasites out there whom know nothing about atari and arent even interested. You will find these carts on Ebay at inflated prices usually with *rare*. I find going to the smaller thrifts tend to give much better results, And the thrift stores that arent in highly populated areas. Well thats how it is here in Aus anyways
-
Its hard like the arcade version which makes it fun, The sound is terrible.
-
Bump'n'jump on the 2600 does indeed rock, Its one of the only games ive been playing after last weeks thrift haul.

Xot You indeed have a high quality tv set which i bet you automatically picks up 50/60hz, My Pal tv does but my ntsc one is just that, NTSC. Frankly i cant see any difference expect the speed, However a friend of mine from Brown city Michigan? was telling me while visiting here that the tv quality was excellent. I was rolling on the floor with laughter because i thought he meant the australian tv shows Anyway, good luck in your quest TheGreatOne, ive been through this and it ended up costly!

Ive tried to get an NTSC tv to play pal games before and the response was the same wherever i asked. It is easy to get NTSC to work on a pal tv as the lines are already there, But the other way around?. Most tv manufacturers of tv's for the US wouldnt bother with PAL, i mean who would want this option?? It is very very costly to get an ntsc tv to show the extra lines Properly. My experience with cheap coverters is the proper colours but some of the screen missing all together. Otherwise a 50/60hz switch on the atari would be ideal???

Hi All I can remember playing tower toppler on the amiga, Can anyone confirmn that this was a legitimate release? or just a hack?
-
Love the rise of the triad poster, The only FPS i can remember with magic mushrooms and a level called the vomitirium. I'll never forget how difficukt the final boss was,
-
Happy dude U have been PM'd
-
Only got this cart yesterday and when i loaded it i seriously thought it was broke. What on earth is the goal? Move forward and never die??
-
Happy dude I have been to the shop twice and the owner wouldnt bring the other boxes out, he only restocks once the shelf is looking empty. Also the majority of these carts are not pal but ntsc or standard world wides, In the list the only pals say PAL or HES. The master builder cart has spectravideo embossed on the front and on the back. It is identical to the cart scan on this site, Notice it says printed in hong kong? close to home. Witchfynde, ive never even seen a telesys cart til yesterday and frankly i was going mental chosing my carts. I'll make sure to have a look for you, if i can get a list together that would help. Im so sick of ebay and think the price is right for $1. This is soooo much fun! Oh, BTW, he has loads of atari 2 button pads
-
yeah, excellent stuff. The people i bought these from have 4 more boxes so im going back next week. None of the carts are boxed though but still im pretty happy, The thrill of the hunt has sought of died though and its gonna take forever to play them. Maybe if people are after something i can have a look see? I do live in aus but am happy to do favours,, It seems people have problems looking and i know what thats like. Anyways, atari overload coming my way!

Video game dreams, awesome topic My most intense vid game dream must have been super mario bros related. Absolutely amazing, I dreamt i was mario as a first person perspective jumping over the pipes and so on, I think i woke up during level 1-3. Sad this is i was 20 years old and not really a kid any more. I have had plenty of doom dreams and final fantasy 7, Then again everyone i know who has played ff7 has had dreams.

What game "hooked" you into collecting the classic
DeV0 replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Classic Console Discussion
i was hooked after playing stand up space invaders on a train station. After that everywhere i went with my family i was just looking for arcades. In fact i went missing several times when on holidays which scared the crap out of my mother. I even walked into a bikie hotel as i could hear a sit down galaga machine near the door, This is at 12 years old. My first system was some crappy sports 10 in 1 machine, than atari. My folks refused to buy me any more machines so i had to wait until i earned money. The NES was the first machine i payed for. Nowadays i collect all the machines i missed thanx to my parents thinkig i had a real problem, which clearly i did,,,,,, -
I dreamt once about a good pacman being released and finding it, Being the only copy in the world. I did however come across many carts the other day of which i came home with 30, Some tigervisions and spectravisions. I swear ive been so lucky, Its only been a couple of months and i now have a load of 2600, 7800, coleco, intellivision, nes and c64 carts. Interstingly i came accross some rainbow vision carts, that tom boy is the worst pitfall hack of all time I mean the scorpions are monkeys, the rolling logs are snakes, and the crocs dont open their mouths??
-
Ok, well ive picked up even another variation of this defender. The cart is the same in that it has the grip, Differences are the end label "Defender" is in white not blue. Also the label has the picture and says defender in blue, However thats all it does say. No copyright or atari or anything.
