  1. The only atari stuff i found was super breakout and some paddles that dont work. Also mario, dKJR & galaga for the 7800.

Hmmm, yeah, a boxed mint NES with 3 carts,

A tonne of intellivision carts including most of the imagics, Also a voice adapter and keyboard (think the keyboards broke)

A large lot of C64 carts, mostly activision titles.

All and all i think i did very well considering how tuff it is to find stuff in australia.

  2. Thanx 4 everyones help on this, Since the problems i was having i have managed to get a 7800, a 6 switch woody and a vader. These all work just fine.

Bad thing is that i hacked the 32 in 1 apart which wasnt the problem,

I also tried the av mod on the junior to no avail, Ah well, Its an x-file

  3. It is one of the all time greats!  I do love it when the swirl can turn the corner! Try to figure out how to see the programmers initials during gameplay!  Also, can you figure out what "Yar" means?  8)

Yar im gathering would be Ray (a programmer? or something), What rays revenge is i don't know. I was so hyped playing this last night. A truly classic title, I can believe i missed this 20 years back.

  4. I remember being told that if u got to a certain score on space invaders a coffe cup would appear and you would have a 5 minute break, Still don't know about this one.

I definately heard that pacman turned in to the real game and the crappy version was only on dislplay at stores, Didnt buy that one for a minute, i was only 10

I heard that if you flicked the power of an on constantly on some arcade games, credits would appear,, this one worked flawlessly :)

  5. Hi all

I have only just found the wonder of yars revenge, Ok, ive been playing games since the oz version of the magnavox or whatever its called but never played yars revenge til yesterday. I cant believe how original and maybe a bit bizzarre this game is, I am a sure addict of this title.

Im sure you've all played it do death etc, But as a newbie i just have to say how brilliant this title is

    ahhh, feel better now

Only scored around 150,000,, must try just 1 more time!

  6. I can honestly say that i have never seen in my entire life any movie with as many custard bowl haircuts as E.T,

I remeber when it came out, i played the game and then saw the movie. I really didnt like the film at the time (bad hair induced i think), However i did like the space invaders t-shirt, Almost as much as i liked the kid playing atari space invaders in Close encounters, almost as much as i liked the kid playing Zaxxon on the coleco at the end of friday the 13th part ?

  7. Awesome, learn something new every day, I had no idea there where PAL only releases for any system let alone the atari. Ive played the rom on stella which gives different colors so i assume it is a pal only after all.

Stan, trust me, you've been a help just from reading other posts.

Matty, stoopid i know, But i gather i like it in a stupid way.

Ah well, time to go through the rest of my skull and crossbone labelled carts.

  8. Ok, 3 post for new topics, No reply?

    Heres the deal

I live in australia, I've been playing games for what seems like eternity. I love the ataris and came across this group while searching for a 7800. Did a trade with a member and am now exremely happy. Given that i am a newbie i need help with almost everything. It is great to see that such different games where released depending on location as it varies so much as to what is available to me and what was released in the states.,,,,,,,

Point being is that i would like to contribute and also get as much help as possible.

    Cheers

  9. Hi all

Just wondering if anyone was familiar with ski hunt and its origin? I can see it in the list as Home vision, Mine is called ski dodge-em with an action high tech label, Im sure High tech is a highly credited firm,,,,

Most taiwan games i have a pretty bad but this is actually quite a good game. A skiing game where you get to shoot the wildlife? Any info in regards to this fine title would be great.

  10. I play the games more so then collect, But have gathered quite a large lot in the process.

As for the intellivision my faves would have to be burgertime and white water, It takes a while to get used to the controls for white water but ive grown fond of it. I have a stack of dupes for the inty which i'd be happy to off load for $0

    Not many consoles but:

    Intellivision x2 40+ dupes

    collecovision, 50+

atari vcs, woody 6 a WOPPING 13 carts!, garage sale by mother, she will pay

    Atari 2600 vader

    atari 2600 rainbow

    atari 7800, Massive 4 carts

neo geo pocket colour 12 carts

    stack of G&W's

    sega saturn -countless

  11. Hi All

Today i managed to get my hand on a few carts, Along with the ones i paid for a few pirates? where handed in.

I have ski hunt, it is however called SKI-DODGE'M, Does anyone know if this is common or a rare?

Also i received a copy of space tunnel, this is a pal cart by BIT which i'll scan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,Cheers

  12. I just noticed that three digit number for the first time just recently. The positioning and quality of the stamping is very incosistant so it was obviously done by hand. The only thing I can think of is that it identifies the person who either did final assembly on the unit or did the final QC on it. It may also identify a production line instead of a specific person. As for the location I could speculate that it was put there because it's un-obtrusive and there is a reasonanbly good landmark (the slot for the power socket) to identify where to put it.

Would be an interesting project to collect serial number (and the three digit stamp number) from a bunch of peoples system to see if any patterns could be indentified. Looking at the serial number of my 2600A's I just relized that the first two digits are the manufacturing year, and the second two could very well be the manufacture week.

Ok, well the number burnt on mine is 192, this is a 6 switch, very early  atari-wong PAL unit. I am in australia, However this machine could have come from anywhere.

  13. Can someone provide me with bottom label scans of their 1981 6 switch units and maybe shed some light on what the "111" just on the underside of the Atari unit below the power jack may mean?  If I get scans of the bottom labels for all the 1981 6 switch Atari units of that model and era I may be able to figure out the serial number of THIS one

You wouldnt be refering to the 3 numbers burnt in to the unti would you?? Coz im trying to work this out as well,, hmmmm

  14. My first memory was playing a vcs at grace bros (australias cheap chain store), Of course my 9th Bday was coming up (1979) and i told my dad to get me one. Being a spoilt brat i instead got the cheaper hanimex machine, One of those ones with 10 sports games etc. I was pretty disappointed at the time. However that same year xmas came up and luckily enough one of my relatives bought me a vcs!! I was so happy that i trashed the hanimex, Blamed it on the dog and have been playing ever since.

    1st game was combat,,
