Yes, they are 8-bit conversions done by AA user "classics" who also did a number of other conversions. And yeah, they're asserting their rights to release their older software as they wish to. Which is both neat that an original IP holder would authorize a modern re-release of their games, but perhaps also a bit frustrating now that those re-releases have become hard to find.

I'm afraid I don't know how to install a 5200 emulator on a console, but perhaps someone else on here might. If interested, you could perhaps put a post on the main 5200 board and someone could probably help you out. I take it you don't have a PC available... getting an emulator working on one of those should be pretty simple. I don't have permissions to change roadrunner's high score list, but I did place a post in that topic for this season's high scores. Hopefully, roadrunner can add the scores to the main list soon.

Yes. Both were bought at the same time from Atari2600.com while they were still in stock.

Cant explain that... my copys sticker says 017 out of 100. On the other had, my Flip and Flip says 082 out of 105. So maybe later in the run of these, 5 more copies were tacked on for some reason.

Battlezone doesnt use it, but it really should!

Unfortunately, they do. The lack of self-centering can easily let your shooter cruise right into an enemy in the later waves when space is super-tight. Sadly, very few people have two Wico's, or two Redemption/Masterplays to get a fully digital experience going with real hardware. Nuclear Pacman's half-and-half setup is a good idea for a compromise if you have a single digital stick, however.
