  1. Pitfall II is one of the best. A perfect score is 504,000... Yes, it takes a lot of practice and determination Miner 2049er, Frogger II, Zenji are also great games!
  2. Probably 1:25 scale being that they're MPC, but sometimes those Snap kits were smaller.
  3. And to chime in on a few points brought up so far... If done right, you can pick up 4 seconds by dying above ground (moving right to left.) Hitting a scorpion (moving right to left) only gains you 2 seconds. I was also gonna give my tip on making a map, but since there is already a nice map here to use, I guess there really isn't a point. But my tip was to record yourself playing, (using a VCR,) and go left for 129 screens. Hit reset, then go right for 125 screens. Counting the starting screen, you would cover all 255 screens this way. Then play back the tape and mark down which screens have ladders and where the walls are. Once you finish, you can determine where you could pick up time using the underground passages (since each underground screen covers three screens above.) And to give yourself the best chance of collecting all 32 treasures, it is best to move right to left. But you still have to use the underground passages in order to give yourself the best shot of not running out of time.
  4. score: 114,000 time remaining: 1:42 I just did this, but my wife is out and she has my digital camera. I'm leaving my Atari on, so when she gets home, I'll shoot a pic. I did die once, however, I plan on going for the perfect score with no lives lost, and I also plan on improving the time. Edit... Picture, as promised
  5. The first thing to do would be to disassemble the stick. Remove the top half of the stick and then remove the circuit board from it (there are two screws holding it onto the top half of the stick.) Then, remove the plastic contact plate (it will be either black or white) from the top of the circuit board, exposing the metal contacts. Then, plug the controller into your Atari, insert a Missile Command cart, fire it up. With the game in progress, manually depress each contact with your finger, and watch to see of the cursor in Missile Command moves and fires in accordance to the contact you press. You'll know right away if the contacts are good, and that the cable is good. Sometimes the circuit board gets out of alignment with the plastic contact plate that the springs touch, which causes certain directions to not work properly. Minor adjustments with the screws, and placement of the plastic contact plate will usually do the trick. Hope that helps in some way!
  6. Question...for the perfect score challenge, does that also mean that the score needs to be achieved without losing a life?
  7. Yes, just one end cap...to protect the end not in play while in your VCS. Check the box, or the cart. It may either be rattling aroung in the bottom of the box, or attached to one end of the cart!
  8. Nice. Is the cap included for the cart?
  9. I have these... TIPS ON GETTING E.T. HOME ASTEROIDS INSERT ("ATTENTION:") Plaque Attack Sears: Baseball (red title) 49-75125
  10. You may be on to something there, but I wouldn;t know either way how to determine that. Darthkur...I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I clear the scorpion, but I die anyway...like it bit me in the heel or something. Very frustarting.
  11. I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. I guess that would be up to AtariLeaf to decide if he wanted the Atari or the Sears unit. Thanks for the offer shadow460!
  12. I'll trade ya! Here's a Sears light sixer. I'll keep all the hookups like you said, but if you want, the console is yours for Subterranea. Let me know...
  13. Cool find! You're right that these were the early style Driving controllers sold roughly from 1977 - 1978 It is indeed rare than the one on the left that says "driving" Usually, they are worth a few bucks more on their own, but boxed with the gatefold 11 Indy 500 with large outer box (with hanger) is worth even more.
  14. Talking about overlooked paddle games (I agree that Solar Storm is awesome) but what about GI Joe Cobra Strike? That game is a blast!
  15. Great score! But thanks for not making me play again
  16. Sale is now closed. Thanks to everyone for their purchases! I'm shipping remaining orders today.
  17. I only need th keyboard, no wires or anything are necesary. All I ask is that it is in perfect working condition and clean. Thanks!
  18. Glad I played another game tonite...improved my personal best! 2,742
  19. I could have had 200 more points, but while I timed the bonus round perfectly, I sent the pooch in the wrong direction! lol 2,023
  20. Bump... Everything that has been paid for has been shipped. Thanks again!
  21. For me, Gunslinger and Canyon Bomber are the two I've seen the least of. Superman...all I've seen is the picture that was posted here awhile ago, and is the only one I don't have. I'm still curious if a picture label Target Fun will be discovered. One is pictured in the owner's manual of the Sears 4 switch console, but to date, no one has claimed owning one.
  22. Thanks for the replies. I'm using the stock controller, but I also have the Comp Pro which works good.
  23. I don't know...I guess I need to keep practicing. But the 2600 version, if I had to jump 100 scorpions in a row, I'd clear every one no sweat. Even timing my jumps at the same point, I'll find that usually I'll clear the scorpion, but then the next one would kill me, even though I jumped at exactly the same time as the last one. Screwy I tell you! But I did abandon the underground passages and had 2 more treasures to go, but ran out of time. My score was over 100K
