  1. Hello, Yes, the Atlantis II's I've seen all have the night scene label. Don't forget the blue label Atlantis! If you find the box, like mine, there is a generic white sticker with Atlantis II typed on it (you can see it in the archives). I've seen a copy with the sticker attached to the cart but that person may have simply removed the sticker from the box, reattached it to the cart and discarded the box. If you find Atlantis with the night scene, it's worth buying and only takes a second to pop it in and see if you only score one point for hitting the enemy ship. Not sure if anyone found out how many were actually made for the contest. I would guess that the number would be small though, plus out of that, how many have survived? Doug
  2. Neat variation! Thanks for pointing this out. I checked my four Tigervisions: King Kong - dustcover Threshold - reversed dustcover Polaris - reversed dustcover Marauder - reversed (dustcover is a different mold than the others, larger holes) Doug
  3. HowD, I have the manual for Shootin' Gallery but I don't have a scanner nor the time to type it all out. You'd be welcome to borrow it. PM me if you are interested. Doug
  4. I loved the Imagic box art! The modified Star Wars ships, GIJoe missiles, those must have been a lot of fun to make I actually have the exact same three Imperial dinosaurs from the Demon Attack box that I am planning on painting silver and gluing the GIJoe pieces to and then I will hang them above my TV in the Atari room I'll be sure to take a picture of the results... My favorite Imagic game: Hmmm, I actually enjoy playing all of them. The two games I play the least are Fire Fighter and Star Voyager. The rest get equal playing time. No Escape has great music and graphics. Doug
  5. I managed a 32.75 and couldn't figure out what I did differently than any other attempts. The more you tap the joystick, the more tenths of a second you lose. Also, in avoiding the birds I never go to the top of the screen Keep trying! Doug
  6. Hi, I also have the Back to School Pak which comes with Basic Programming and Brain Games, both with the generic white boxes with black lettering. I heard some of these were eventually liquidated and sold as single games. Doug
  7. Hi Cybergoth, I scoring in Atlantis is still a mystery to me too. You are correct that the last digit in the score counts each rollover of the score. When I got 5 million+ the last digit was "5". I decided I had enough and just let myself be destoyed (BTW, you DO NOT have an unlimited supply of extra lives, no matter how high the score) There is a set limit as to how many bonus lives you get for each 10K scored. I haven't figured out the limit yet. I'm guessing 10 bonus lives is the limit. Anyway, when the bonus lives were used up and Atlantis was finally destroyed, the last two digits in the score jumped to "10" Why did it the last two digits jump from "05" to "10" ??? I don't know the scoring system. Maybe there ARE unlimited bonuses and instead of playing them all out it just automatically tallys the points when you decide to commit suicide in the game. Who knows? Doug
  8. I think the music in Up 'n Down is pretty painful! Does it even qualify for music?? Why didn't anyone mention the music in Journey Escape? It's excellent! Doug
  9. Kaboom! ends with 999,999 not "!!!!!!" There is a special Kaboom million point patch, the only person I know that has one is Todd Rogers. He described it to me but I forget the details.
  10. Speaking of the Activision catalogs, The Winter/Spring 83 version AG-940-11 has two versions. One shows Dolphin with box art showing the Octopus zapping the Dolphin with some sort of heat ray vision. The other version shows the box art that was released with the picture of the Dolphin juming out of the water. Personally, I would rather have seen the other version released Doug
  11. Hello Yancey! Well, if you make it to the 1 Million point club you will have not only Todd's company but mine as well Just played the game tonite and got 1 million points, actually when you do it the score turns into an interesting display, if you didn't do it yet I won't give away the surprize! So come on Yancey, let's get you into the million point club too! You seem to be close... Doug
  12. I'm not familiar with this song, at least not by the name. Does anyone have a sample they can point me at or send me? ..Al Albert, It's the first track on the Kraftwerk album "The Man Machine" from 1978. The track is actually called "The Robots" Maybe you can find a download on one of those free music sites but I'm not familiar with those. Doug
  13. "I'm the operator with my pocket calculator...I am adding...and subtracting...By pressing down a special key it plays a little melody...bleep blop bleep blop blop..." Haha! I love that song, that would go great. Some Kraftwerk is pretty close to Atari music anyway, maybe I'll give it a go on the music driver you have posted on your site. I've been playing and writing music for quite a long time so I may have some luck figuring out some Atari compositions. Another idea may be "Ping Pong" from Stereolab for Pong Sports even though the song doesn't have much to do with sports... Doug
  14. EWWWWWWWWW! Styx! What a painful band. Ok, if anyone can do a Kraftwerk version I will buy that!
  15. Hello, I don't know if I heard this or not but did someone put "We are the Robots" in Berzerk? I could be mistaken, maybe it was another song. If so, I would love to get a copy of that! Doug
  16. In the time it takes the computer to reel in that fish from the bottom for the higher points, you can reel in several lower scoring fish from the top level to outscore the computer. Give it a try!
  17. It depends on the model you have. If it is a 6 switch, then check the bottom for a slot on the side that will have the channels embossed next to it. Since you have to use a thin tool to switch it, its unliklely this is the problem but check anyway. If you have a 4 switch model, the channel switch in on the back panel with the difficulty switches. Doug
  18. Yes, if you have the old TV switchbox, make sure its switched ALL the way to Game or Computer depending on what version it is. You can also try a new R/F switch from Radio Shack if that's the problem Also make sure the game cart is fully inserted as far as it can go. Doug
  19. Make sure you're Atari's channel switch is switched to Channel 3 too! Doug
  20. That was the funny thing, when I got that time I was shocked because I didn't think I was doing anything different than I usually do. I actually thought it was an average run till I saw the time I usually get between 32:80-32:84 but three times now I broke into the 32:7's. I never fly to the top of the screen to avoid the birds Let me know how you do dyancy, I'm also gonna try to improve my score. Try playing it in B/W! Doug
  21. Today I managed a 32:75 on game 1 in Barnstorming! I decided to give it a try today and my first successful attempt without hitting any obstacles timed out at 32:77 which was the first time I EVER broke the 32:7's. The very next attempt I got 32:75! I took a picture of the screen with my Polaroid and will be sending this one into TG for sure Not sure if this made a difference in my time but I played the game with the B/W switch on Black & White. Maybe it helped my eyes relax or something, I don't know but I'm very happy with my time! Take care folks, Doug
  22. Why do they call it Cosmic Commander instead of Cosmic Commuter? Doug
  23. I feel a whole different kind of pain when it comes to River Raid II. The pain of not being able to get my cart to work I tried eveything, the cart even looks new and clean. Is there a possibility that it doesn't work on heavy sixers? Doug
