  1. Once you get to level 8, the bombs are worth 8 points and never gets higher. If you drop a bomb on level 8, you go back to level 7 where bombs will be worth 7 points. Doug
  2. Hello, My secret to Kaboom is mastering level 7, in other words, being able to complete that level with one, two or all three buckets. Once you master level 7, you should have the tools and confidence for level 8 no matter how many buckets you have. Another trick I do sometimes is to stare at the score while playing and catching the bombs in my peripheral vision. This can be tricky but once you get used to it you may find better success this way, especially if you opt for the drop the bomb before each 1000 point strategy. When I got my 999,999 score recently I just played straight through, scoring 100,000 points about every 19 minutes. This is just faster than intentionally dropping bombs every 1000 points. (I was on the clock, 2 kids and a wife ) I currently have the top score at the Twin Galaxies site for the small buckets but the score is only at the 13,000 mark. I've recorded better scores than that but my ultimate goal is to max the score with the small buckets Wish me luck! Doug
  3. I think Tigervisions are fun to collect. Maybe its the unique cart style, colorful labels, cool boxes, who knows? I only have four Tigervision games in my collection: Jawbreaker loose King Kong loose with instructions Marauder with box Polaris with green end label complete with box I had a second King Kong but a friend of mine collects King Kong stuff so he got it
  4. I've seen that version too. As a matter of fact I've passed on it at the local flea market many times, just wasn't interested enough I guess. It's probably still there, I'll check this weekend and let you know if I get it Doug
  5. Hi, I don't know if any other Atari collectors out there experience this but I occasionally have dreams about going to a thrift store and finding tons of Atari games that I don't have in my collection, and since it is a dream, these games are usually titles that don't even exist but I'm always like, "Pitfall 3! I've been searching forever for this game!" Anyway, after having these dreams I always make sure I go out to my favorite thrift stores to check and I always find Atari stuff. Whether its loose carts, boxed carts, systems, ect. I end up finding something I need for my collection. The other night I had another Atari premonition dream so I went out to the thrift store and checked the shelf where the Atari games usually would be and sure enough there were 4 loose carts. Nothing too exciting, an Atlantis, Pac-Man, Centipede and I believe the other was Armor Ambush. There was also a stack of Intellivision carts, a couple NES games and a Sega CD game but I'm not collecting for those systems unless its a game I really like to play. As I'm rummaging through the shelf I find a silver style boxed Atari game hidden behind a magazine! Was it Waterworld, Crazy Climber, Quadrun??? E.T. Oh well, at least it is still mint, had all of the pamphlets and looked like it was never played (wonder why?) Even though I already have it, I couldn't pass it up for 3 bucks. Cheers, Doug

  9. I like to get significant box variations. I have all 9 of the first gatefold box Atari games and both versions of the first 10 Activision games with the black stripe on the front of the box and without. I recently saw for the first time a Star Wars Death Star Battle in the Atari box style, (opens from the top flap), I was tempted to get it because I have the standard Parker Bros. style version of the box but I didn't. I also am looking for the red Atari boxed versions of Donkey Kong, Q-bert, Mouse Trap, etc. Doug
  10. Just a quick note to say thanks for the Super Pac-Man game! I just received it today and it plays perfectly I can't wait to have my friends over to play this one! I love it. Very challenging to eat the ghosts, that's for sure. Now I just need to remember my pattern for the bonus stages... Thanks again! Doug
