  1. LOVED this game back in the good old days! An instant buy on the app store, going to play now
  2. since i have no Falcon, i would order the Jaguar version when available....
  3. loved using STEEM, but it´s been a while since i did any emulation....
  4. i´m sure pretty soon Cooper will let everyone know the results...
  5. very interesting concept... never seen anything like it... can´t say because never tried, but maybe someone else has....
  6. I also have the same idea that banks had to be populated 1-3 and 2-4...
  7. i was a subscriber for ST Format for many years and also had many other magazines... alas, when i divorced, i was unable to bring most of my Atari stuff with me... i´m willing to donate some money to help with shipping costs, but maybe a scanner would be cheaper to buy than shipping a whole collection of magazines from one place to the other...? if another person has a different whole collection, then it would only be necessary to ship the scanner, for example... just a thought...
  8. Sorry, i was thinking better and it's both too small to be an accelerator card, nor it seems to suppose to fit a 6800 CPU. Check if the STe has a 1.44Mb floppy, i think they needed to work in 16mhz to read high density discs. The female could have had a 'stick' to change between 8mhz and 16mhz. 28 pins could be right for the floppy controller. It would to know to wich chip it was plugged.
  9. Still are... ok, i´m sure some people would still mod an original Falcon today, but the flux of case modding was done at launch time when there was a huge disappointment with the Falcon being shipped in an ST case. Nowadays, not only it´s a rare bird, but anyone getting a stock Falcon would probably keep it that way as a collector. But i stand corrected... :)
  10. It's probably a C-Lab Falcon mkII. AFAIR, they were rack mountable with an adapted detachable keyboard Or.... A Falcon with a modded case, there were many people adapting their Falcons.
  11. interesting, i´ll check your site more carefully... thank you
  12. very very very nice indeed.... amazing benchmark...
  13. very nice... merry christmas to all in the Atari Age forums...
  14. If the willem/sivava board is compatible with the chips you need, I can have them programmed at work and mail them to you. No way to test them though....
  15. We have to program EPROMs at work regularly Though we use mainly 27C512 chips, it is compatible with a number of chips and sockets... Check this: http://www.sivava.com/ Hope it helps
  16. sorry about the job loss. can´t say the same won´t happen to me soon if the economy doesn´t improve a little.... but i´ve had friends who in similar situations found the time and opportunity the dedicate themselves to projects they had been delaying. that, in turn, gave them new skills and a mind frame to take some risks they didnt have before. and a new ST game will be good for the community, so i for one, will be waiting... still impresses me, that after all these years people are still coding for the ST...
  17. Absolutely! Why is it I can work 12.5 hour shifts, run a mile, work out on my weight bench, etc, etc, but it still doesn't leave me near as worn down as 4 hours at a shopping mall with my wife? well, i have a tacit agreement with the missus now on mall visits. i check whatever i need straight away and she is free to visit every shop in the building.... but i´ll be waiting for her either in the lounge entertaining myself with my iPad or reading a book...
  18. Yep, working... Sooo... after the nightmare of putting this back online, off to the mall with the missus? oh yeahhh... fun... Need another BBS crash to rescue you?
  19. Want me to ping your external IP?
  20. No MegaSTe´s were affected with the DMA chip AFAIK I remember at the time i had my own STe recently when the bad DMA chip came into question and there was a way to check by the serial number if the machine needed the DMA chip replaced or not without having to open the machine. it was on most magazines at the time, so maybe a web search will give relevant information. Also, this was an issue affecting a small number of machines, early shipments of STes only. more common than the SIP machines, but still pretty rare.
  21. Well, fast for the time, really... Nowadays, unless you want to print specifically from an Atari or on an Atari printer or nostalgia (all good reasons), there are much better alternatives now
  22. Wow... I would definitely get some titles for no other reason than nostalgia, but no international shipping and no PayPal does it for me... Still, impressive trove...
  23. DarkLord, you wayyyy too neat for my taste... you should see my "office" that also serves as my computer repair dungeon. sometimes, i cannot find enough empty space to put a beer down... :D:D i´ll see if i upload a photo...
