(para que não haja comentários dos restantes foristas, vou passar para ingles) Checking inside if everything is in place and properly seated is a good first step. Then, check which type of memory upgrade it has and if it´s modular or soldered. more information about which type of ST will also help others to give better answers...

It´s a pity that the world loses a great person and a great Atarian. RIP Techie_Alison.

hi, i have a set that i bought a couple of years ago, but never got round to install them. they are still in the original packing with a manual, i think.

VERY nice... amazing performance on a sub-100mhz machine... fantastic to see that all these years later, the Falcon still has room for improvement.

No wonder it's so hard to find an ST these days

What a waste of classic machines... -
Good to be back living and breating a little Atari, right? I remember having an original Plutos disc. it is more than likely not working after all these years. but i have several compilations and can try searching. though, they would be roughly the same you can find online... Good game, Plutos. had lots of fun with it... Played a little Llamatron and Revenge of the mutant camels the other day... :sigh:

just my 2 cents... Amiga/ST switch would be a plus and probably lower overall costs of making them since a single model would fit both systems. i don´t have an amiga and don´t plan to, so this is really an impartial opinion as it can be... Also, would it not be possible to have 9 pin and 15 pin conectors and the end or a 9-to-15 pin adapter (there are ones that are really thin and it´s almost like it´s not there)? this way a single mouse would fit all, really... i have a Jaguar and STe and though it would not stop me from getting a mouse to each (depending on price), it would be nice to know that the day one died, i still had another one to cover... i will follow this topic...

Anyone using Cyrel Sunrise or Nova Graphics cards?
anzac replied to crash's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
though i never had a TT, let alone one with any of the ultra rare graphic cards made for them, i followed this topic out of curiosity. i am glad the source was tracked down and solved, the last thing being the cause in true murphy law style... -
New Atari compatible computer FireBee in series production
anzac replied to Mathias's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Hi Mathias, i understand your arguments, i really do. i admit that it might be the cheapest clone ever and that people are dedicating their time and effort without finantial gain. what pains me, is being unable to help you in this project because the price tag is simply out of my reach. i don´t mind making a donation of 20, 30 or 50€, but spending almost 1000€ unless i win the lottery is never going to happen. also, i think the ACP site could be much improved. there is a lot of information about the firebee, but there is not practical information on how to use this. it´s to use inside a PC case? then all the connectors would be inside? also, marking the PIN_1 on the different IDE, SCSI, ACSI, floppy connectors on the PCB would have been a plus. maybe i didn´t see it on the picture or maybe it was just the prototype, but it´s something that is easy to do and helps people plugging cables. -
New Atari compatible computer FireBee in series production

interesting project... would love to have one, but just wayyyy out of my pocket though... wish the best success for this... -
Thanks for the reply. I wound up getting a couple of the different types from 2 different sources - Brad had 3 kinds at Best Electronics (Machine screw, Solder Tail, and the strips), I also picked up a handful of "low profile" sockets from Ebay. Looking for the smallest profile I can possibly find - its going into my STacy for a Fast Technology's (Jim Allen) T25 accelerator. The space around the CPU is *very* tight. Heck, everything in a STacy is very tight. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 380179138198 hope this helps...

Converting TT-High to a standard monitor
anzac replied to crash's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
ah... i thought it was dependent on the monitor, not on the TT output. what you would need would be a multiscan monitor if i´m not mistaken... Also, you should try and get your monitors fixed. Old monitors were built to last and usually when they stop working, it´s one of the cheap components inside like a fuse... i recently had an old CRT fixed that would not turn on and the guy was throwing it to the garbage. solution, new fuse and relay, total cost to fix, 15$ (and most of it to the guy who fixed it!) -

i thought the TT had a standard VGA output? -
great find, congratulations... can´t wait to find a good deal myself. also, don´t bother with people saying that it´s too expensive... all of the (few) Falcons i saw for sale on ebay recently went for a lot more than that. also, i don´t think any of the people that thinks 400$ is expensive would sell theirs for twice that amount, so...

sorry about the delay... been away a while... not only i still have the schematics, i knew i had posted them here somewhere: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/136341-1040ste-to-phillips-cm8833-cable/page__fromsearch__1 hope this helps...

I think Fletch nailed that one on the head. You are more likely to get hit by lightening than Atari ever doing anything like that. yeah... i kinda got the feeling we were in a "what if..." scenario... wishfull thinking, etc.... it´s human nature, no? otherwise, why would we examine history "what if WWII didn´t happen or hitler won, etc"... my rational mind tells me "never gonna happen", my heart tells me what i would like it to be... is that so bad?

a MUST for me, would be detachable keyboard like the Mega series... i would very much welcome a MegaSTe/TT case. hardware wise, ST compatibilty would be much desired, though with current technology that can be achieved with a separate circuit and independent boot... then TT or Falcon capable hardware or higher with expansion possibilites... storage and games could be in memory card format, though that would make it support dependent... yes, i would buy software and support development. hardware wise, higher than 200$ would put me off...

hello! thats good to know, but i am far away from buying a new tv set. i got some DIN plugs for low price and will built a scart cabel to use the ST with my old tv set. how about old monitors, do the one from Commodore Amiga work as well?! cheers, T. it works... i had an old "commodore" monitor that was nothing more than a philips monitor with the commodore brand and all i had to change was the connector on the ST side... i still have the diagrams if you need...

well, there weren´t that many units with the bad DMA chip at the time... a good way to tell was by TOS version.. AFAIK, no machines with TOS 1.62 have the problem and "only" a limited number of machines with TOS 1.60 have it... little consolation for the unlucky one, i know, but really, it´s a whole lot easier and cheaper to get your STe fixed or another one (being VERY unlikely that it also has the DMA problem) than fixing and/or finding another hard drive for your machine.... so... it is the lesser of two evils...

i just think that the ST will be forever bonded to my childhood/adolescence and i would like to think that i am a better person today because of that...

yeah, i noticed the standard floppy, but thought that there was a chance. who knows, maybe it is a 1.44mb floppy with the normal big button face? pictures are not clear enough to distinguish that detail...
-
ok, i might be going out on a limb here, since i don´t recognise the PCB also, but could it be some upgrade to use a 1.44mb floppy?

Stumbled across a Falcon and Mega STE
anzac replied to ThumpNugget's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
man, just read this thread from the beginning... you and your son just managed to grab not only the most expensive couple of machines Atari wise that you could sell for aprox. 1000$USD if the need arised, but also the most interesting couple of machines bar the TT030... i am SO jealous... congratulations...
