Has anyone heard of the 'SuperSatan' ?
anzac replied to Mark Wolfe's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
well... the original SATAN creators DO have all the schematics online for anyone that wants to do it at home... IMO, this is just someone doing something like that, even though it is a little different visually... -
the number of cherry bombs does actually give a code for the error... though in a microsoft premonition like move, there is a number of bombs that means that error that can be almost anything... (if i remember correctly) Well, i had to google search until i could find information: Those bombs that appear on your screen are error messages from the 68000 micro-processor. Number Description of bombs =========================================== Reset: Initial PC2...............1 Bus Error........................2 Address Error....................3 Illegal Instruction..............4 Zero Divide......................5 CHK Instruction..................6 TRAPV Instruction................7 Privilege Violation..............8 Trace............................9 Line 1010 Emulator..............10 Line 1111 Emulator..............11 [unassigned, reserved]..........12 [unassigned, reserved]..........13 Format Error....................14 Uninitialized Interrupt Vector..15 [unassigned, reserved].......16-23 Spurious Interrupt..............24 Level 1 Interrupt Autovector....25 Level 2 Interrupt Autovector....26 Level 3 Interrupt Autovector....27 Level 4 Interrupt Autovector....28 Level 5 Interrupt Autovector....29 Level 6 Interrupt Autovector....30 Level 7 Interrupt Autovector....31 Trap Instruction Vectors.....32-47 [unassigned, reserved].......48-63 User Interrupt Vectors......64-255 Anyway, if i were you, i would start by removing the "home made" memory upgrade you have installed if you can. Atari STs are pretty resilient machines in my opinion. If it is just that RAM upgrade that is faulty (and it is possible) then you can still end up with a full computer in working condition. the software that actually NEEDS 1MB RAM is not enough to keep you from enjoying you ST...

Question regarding the ST/TT's memory layout
anzac replied to Shannon's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
ok... here´s what i remember from the times where i read all magazines regarding STs... i have this idea that there was a major constraint on memory expansion possibilities because Atari had selected an MMU that was hugely inflexible and with a 4MB limit. the same MMU caused problems to Atari in general because later models, though might be able to easily expand memory (like STes), had to retain that MMU with all its limitations for compatability reasons. in higher machines like the TT, the compatibility issue was circumvented by using a standard MMU for the "normal" 4MB "ST Ram" (the memory that all STs, TOS and every software could "see"), and having added components for being able to use more memory that could only be used by specific software written to "see" it... the "cheap" MMU problem is probably way up there in the list of ST birth problems (or problems that should never have been), along with the Yamaha sound chip (and keyboard controller) and the under the machine mouse/joystick ports... -
European Falcon 030 interesting for foreign countries?
anzac replied to Marius's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
sorry for my mistake, but since in your post you were talking about NTSC conversions, etc, i got the impression that you were looking exclusively to the north american market. Shipping rates in Europe are pretty decent, is a 26 country market, same voltage all the way and best of all... No customs... i would still think your best sale would be inside EEC... for me it´s a "pity" that Falcons sell for 300GBP or more... wayyyy out of my reach (pocket).... i would love to get one one day, though... -
European Falcon 030 interesting for foreign countries?
anzac replied to Marius's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
not that i would not mind getting my hands on a *cheap* (for me) Falcon030, but i don´t know where you get the idea that Falcon market is dead... each that i see on sale on Ebay sells for very DECENT numbers... -
hi, i´m interested... how much to send to portugal?

anzac replied to remowilliams's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
not the best of times to spend around 100€, but this will probably be too good to let it pass... at least i´ll have some months to save... one thing that got me confused... does it come with the power supply or we have to "supply" that? pardon the pun... -
1040ste to phillips cm8833 cable...
anzac replied to cybertrophic's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
okkkkkk... found the papers... here we go... on the commodore monitor specifications photocopy i have this: PIN # ---> TTL RGB ---> ANALOG RGB 1 ---> GROUND ---> GROUND 2 ---> GROUND ---> GROUND 3 ---> RED ---> RED 4 ---> GREEN ---> GREEN 5 ---> BLUE ---> BLUE 6 ---> INTENSITY ---> NOT USED 7 ---> NOT USED ---> COMPOSITE SYNC. 8 ---> HOR. SYNC ---> HOR. SYNC 9 ---> VERT. SYNC ---> VERT. SYNC this is for the DB-9 side on the monitor... then on my scribbled, 14 year old notes, i have: DB9 commodore ---> Atari ST DIN 13 pin 1 and 2 (ground) ---> 13 3 (red) ---> 7 4 (green) ---> 6 5 (blue) ---> 10 6 NOT USED 7 (composite) ---> 2 8 (hor. sync) ---> 9 9 (ver. sync) ---> 12 if you need to buy parts in europe like the 13-pin DIN, i can mail them to you on one condition... if you make a cable for you, you´ll make one for me too... never had soldering hands myself... i´ll provide the parts... -

Amazing ST haul from Craigslist
anzac replied to NightSprinter's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
mannnnn... your "office" looks just as messy as mine... we should have a thread where we could show the vaults we dwell in... at to people that understand (unlike our wife´s/husbands if they are anything like mine) -
there´s one in france also: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=001 it´s still reasonably priced, but i´m afraid it will end up like the others... one day i´m gonna get one that won´t be noticed by most people...
-
yeah... can understand what you mean... i would also like to buy some more Atari hardware, but the prices are crazy sometimes...
-
if you were in europe i would be VERY interested... as is, shipping costs alone would kill me...
-
i think he means the white carton box where it came packed... it had blue lettering with a line drawing of an ST...
