  1. Who here has used the Gamecube style thumbstick on the N64 controller? What do you think of it?
  2. get it, thats the same one i just put the link up for.. its for the n 64. I looked real close at the ones in your link and we are talking about the same thing. Thanks for the heads up. I think that would be the longest lasting solution.
  3. This is the one I was looking at: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 380435295000
  4. I did some checking and if you are talking about the Gamecube style thumbstick, I think that would be the way to go. If they are built different than the original then they would have to be more durable. I did try that tape trick and it made the stick work much better. Can't see it lasting long though.
  5. Yeah, my youngest just got into playing the N64 and he is murder on the thumbstick. I think I've created a monster. I like to have a couple of those Hori controllers. I'd pick one up if I found it cheap enough, but I'm not holding my breath.
  6. I've got a Nintendo 64 controller with a loose thumbstick. What should I do?
  7. Glad to hear you got it going. Good job. Now that you mention it, My volume knob makes a scratchy sound, Now I know what to do about it. Thanks.
  8. It's not like "hacking it up" to do something dumb, like make a tissue dispenser out of it. (That's what old broken Nintendos and 4 switchers are for.) It's more like giving a broken console new life with an upgrade. So bwestdpm... What did you decide to do?
  9. Check this out. It was posted yesterday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvHITP14oRg&feature=g-u-u
  10. I fixed mine by reseating the chips.
  11. I don't know for sure. I would say if uses a potentiometer (like an Atari paddle controller) for steering you could make an adapter and be golden. If it uses an encoder wheel (like an Atari driving controller or an old school mouse) you are sunk. Do you already own one of these PC racing wheels?
  12. A lot of work I'm sure, but totally worth it. Very nicely done.
  13. Superman... If there is a game in there, I haven't found it.
  14. Is there more than one fire button and a switch that toggles between them? If the spot where the two leafs of the switch touch is really dirty you could clean with alcohol or sandpaper, but I doubt that is the issue. Like you, I suspect it is the wire. I would test the wire to see if there is a break in it.
  15. I don't have detailed instructions but I will point you in the right direction. http://www.atarimuse...2600on5200.html
  16. If you want to order a black one and keep it looking original, I wouldn't blame you, but you probably already have one of these cables laying around in your house. The red, yellow, and white cable that you use to hook up something like a DVD player is the same kind of cable that you need. Just peel any one of the three away from the other two (it doesn't matter what color) and use it.
  17. The end label for Tac-Scan is actually the main reason I bought it. It's a game made by Sega for the 2600. Not a bad game either.
  18. Is this how the current record holder's game ended?
  19. I made this a while back and thought that some here would appreciate seeing it. It worked out pretty well. The Jaguar controller has all the buttons the stock 5200 controller has. The attached Paddle controllers are to center the horizontal and vertical adjustment, so the horizontal one also works well as a Super Breakout and Pole Position controller. What do you think?
  20. Dude... that sucks. So close too. Feel for ya bro.
