[MOD] Reset and select with second joystick.
Ataritard replied to Koen van Vliet's topic in Atari 2600
A Sega cord from the console to the controller has 9 wires. You would have the three extra wires to play with for this mod without the need for a switch. Something I might try. -

By any chance was your house built on an old cemetery? -

A guy named Lendorien did something similar but I like your take on it. Adding the switch was a nice touch. Well done. -
Video Command Joystick Controller ?
Ataritard replied to thevideogamecollector's topic in Classic Console Discussion
With one hand it is very clunky. It works pretty well with two hands though. I wonder if it was originally marketed as a one handed controller. -
Video Command Joystick Controller ?
Ataritard replied to thevideogamecollector's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I don't have the Channel F system from Fairchild, but I've got two of these controllers. One with a fire button and one without. The one without uses the downward motion of the plunger as the fire button. -
$33.73? ... Now $13.65 is more like it.

How much did this cost you?

What kind of adapter? Will a Sony 4.5 that puts out 6 volts cd no load? Or what can be used? (I should have said power supply instead of adapter.) Your Sony power supply that has an output of 6 volts dc is perfect to replace 4 AA batteries. Just put the positive and negative wires in the right place and you are golden. My question is: Will it work to replace 4 C batteries. I think I will go ahead and try it when I get a few minutes. It will work. All batteries from AAA to D all have 1.5v. The Letter is to represent capacity. B It did work. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just got done playing a bit of Pac Man... It's all my ears could take.

I just bought this a few days ago. It is the NES version of what you've got. They are obviously inspired by the NES Advantage. I can't speak to it's robustness & durability, but it feels good and works well.

You're welcome. Hope it works out for you. I have a new question. I'd like to do this with a table top arcade game that uses 4 C batteries. Seems to me that I can use the same adapter that outputs just over 5 volts DC, but I don't know for sure.

If you look close at the battery compartment you will see where the positive and negative "ends" are. I drew a picture of what it looks like and a simplified version. Hope it helps.

I use super glue because it dries very thin, but I've heard good things about glue sticks as well.

You got two heavy sixers, a light sixer and a vader in one place, at one time, for 21 bucks! Hell-of-a-score!

I do agree with BassGuitari that it's fitting that the Holy Grail be Red Sea Crossing which is a Christian Based game. Especially since there is only one. Air Raid is also a good candidate. After all, It is grail shaped.

What about Birthday Mania?

...Definitely a light sixer.

A pic would help...

I would love to know where all my games that I had as a kid are today. Sadly I didn't write my name on any of them. They are probably on some jerk's shelf somewhere hardly ever getting played. I would so much rather they were on my shelf, hardly ever getting played.

Oooh I love that movie actually too!! Ever since it came out back in '95 Tank Girl's always been a favorite of mine. Love the comics even better. Don't get the hate that movie gets, it really is an awesome movie. One movie that comes to my mind is Midnight Madness from 1980. There's a scene where the leader of the blue team is playing Pong with an Atari 2600 wireless controller in the blue team van. If I can find a pic of it I'll post it here soon. Also in that movie there's a scene where Michael J Fox has to play the arcade game Star Fire. I watched Midnight Madness again the other day and though dated, it holds up after thirty years. Funny, decent story line and the diversity of all the characters keeps it interesting. I took the liberty of taking a couple screen shots of the part where the guy is playing pong with an Atari joystick. Check it out! It's Flounder!

I have a hand full of games with names written on them. I thought it would be cool if any of these games used to belong to any one here at Atari Age. I realize it's a long shot but here are the names: Jim West Wally Schulte Chris Cooper Justice with 7 digits of a phone number Brice and two with just initials: J.M. and M.B.E.

Can you take a screw from one of the four corners and screw it into one of the two middle holes?
-
I bet a pic of that would be hard to find... without having to watch a whole bunch of episodes to find it (and who wants to do that.)

My friends and I used to play the game around the neighborhood inspired by this movie. I don't have time to watch it now but it looks like it's on YouTube in 8 parts. I don't remember much of the movie but I look forward to watching it again for the parts you spoke about and to see if it still holds up after thirty years.
