  1. Today I watched on VH1 a show called "I love the 80s" they were talking about 1981, after the Members Only Jackets section then they dedicated like 2 minutes to Atari, they mentioned Space Invaders, Missile Command, Pacman, Combat, Frogger and Defender, they interviewed a few TV artists and singers, they all just talked about "The Atari" but they were showing CX-40 joysticks and the graphics were from 2600 games except for Frogger they showed the Arcade version. Pretty cool to watch if you like 2600 stuff.
  2. Hack-o-matic delivers! I just ran a small test and it's as easy as point and click! I like it! it makes it look so easy! No more text editors involved. Chalk one up for ya dog.
  3. Hi Dieter: The pics look great but they take too much time to load, maybe it would be better if the next time you wish to show huge pictures like those above instead of linking from other servers just show smaller samples or list hyperlinks so anyone no matter how fast or slow their internet access is can read the messages without having to wait for a long period of time for the pics to load, it's ok to link images from other servers as long as they're not too big in file size. Thanx in advance.

  5. I have a younger brother and when he invites friends over to see our videogame systems and someone ask me to fire up "the Atari" just to see what it does I usually show them Ms. Pacman, Asteroids, Joust, Phoenix, Super Breakout, Galaxian, Enduro, Pole Position, Centipede or Moon Patrol.

    keep dreamin

It sounds like you had one of those "Reef store" dreams. Um I usually don't dream but yesterday I did dream about playing Space Invaders with non other than Gwen Steffani from No Doubt, the strange thing is that she wasn't paying attention to the game because she was trying to convince me to buy her latest CD (he! right she doesn't need to convince me anyway), but I was like "hey watch those aliens, keep an eye on the screen" and stuff. Not exactly a Reef Store dream but Atari related, Um ok that was the last time I eat something spicy before going to bed LOL
  7. I couldn't reach him either, maybe that's why. You can run, but you can't hide! And the Truth will set you Free.
  8. Randy: Wake up and smell the coffee buddy, you're making an ass out of your self. I never noticed that big L in your forehead, is that a new tatoo? I'm really sad for you saying all that crap about AA, but you know what? you're full of it, you ain't worth it anyway. I want everyone to know that I never received one single cent nor anything from Randy for Doomzerk nor Cent2k, I never really expected anything but i didn't even had the chance to design the label nor a manual or nothing at all. At first maybe I was kinda flattered to see you liked my sloppy attempts to enhance those old games but after reading all that crap about AA I'm sick reading your comments Randy YOU SLIMEBALL! I also know Randy that you're telling people you ain't in it for the cash, THAT'S BULLSHIT, you're prolly making some maybe not much but still that doesn't give you the right to STEAL other people's designs and it doesn't give you the right to LIE and it sure as hell doesn't give you the right to sell software that you DON'T OWN. Get lost Randy.
  9. My fav is Doomzerk: http://www.atariage.com/hack_page.html?Sys...oftwareHackID=9 Of course I'm hardly biased.
  10. My condolences to you for such painfull loss, I'm sure you and your "ol'girl" spent endless nights togetha, just let it go.... You know I have this Yamaha soundcard in my PC and it has been cranky and unreliable since day one, so I would point the blaming finger at'em too.
  11. Chris Federico: Too late, All Hell will Brake Loose now (nods, kidding) MacGurl: [/size]WOOOHOO now yer talking! Who let the dogs out Woof Woof Woof! um sorry it just slipped, I will behave now...You have to admit it was too good to let it pass, it was an accident ok? Chris Federico: I rest my case your Honor. No Further questions will be required. Ok now if you all excuse me I have to run to put a helmet, bulletproof jacket and run for cover. hahaha It's all in good fun kids, all 3 modern systems are worth having even considering that kind of minor problems. Um I almost forgot to say that the low framerates are probably due to low ram, so it's not such a big deal considering that most games out there work fine with the PS2. So I wouldn't be so worried about it.
  12. You guys forgot to mention: Circus Maximus: Chariot Wars. Resistance is futile Macgurl. hehe
  13. I had the same problem with a 6-switch model, when I turn it on it shows a black screen without sound. I was told the culprit could be the 7805 regulator inside the Atari usually located to the left of the board, it has 3 legs and it's there to knock down 9v to 5v, it's installed over a heath sink. Check the 7805 with a voltmeter. I would doublecheck if that Power Supply you're using it's 9v 500ma polarity tip(+). Don't use 9v 300ma. You can use as an alternative 9v 1Amp.
  15. Wireless freedom!!!! Oh yes I dig it.
  16. I never had problems with the "Darth Vader" model, is the 2600A Rev 2 4-switch but some don't like it because it lacks 2 of the original 6 switches but mine has been working great over the years. I never had any problems inserting carts, I only had to replace the original RF output wire with a new one and the picture is crystal clear now. Some of the early 6-switch models have a problem with the dust-cover flap installed in the cart slot, sometimes it gets stuck and you can have a hard time inserting some games, I have a Sears Telegames 6-switch and it's a pain to insert some games. The Jrs. are very reliable too but without the slide switches it just doesn't bring the old memories the way it should, but it's very compact and doesn't need as many Real State as the big early models. Life is full of choices
  17. The 10s are out there, erm I meant the truth...LOL
  18. "Never tell me the odds" - Han Solo. Well under normal conditions you'll probably find about two level 10s in a LIFETIME that's without the box of course, not to mention the manuals. I've found only 3 level 10 carts in like 6 years of avid collecting, but I've put extra-effort to achive it, browsing thrifts and local flea markets almost weekly also looking for trades on the net almost daily. So probably every 2 years of weekly searching you might stumble across a 10, but that also depends on how dry is your area of Atari stuff. As for Boxed level 10 carts, hmmm well if you ever come across one you shouldn't cross the street by foot that day cuz u might get rolled over by a big truck, it might be "your lucky day" hehe. But don't dispair, if lady luck won't smile at ya there's always the hard cold cash option, but that would take away the fun of it. Just my 10 cents, my 2 cents are always free.
  21. My fav N64 games: Zelda: Ocarina of Time Zelda: Majora's Mask Wave Race Star Wars Racer Star Wars Rogue Squadron Mario 64 DK 64 Banjo Kazooie I currently have over 25 N64 games but the rest I usually don't play them anymore. Most of the N64 games are just ok at best, but the Zelda64 games alone are enough reason to get a N64 in your collection.
  24. If your second paddle works fine (2nd paddle usually is less used) You can swap the potentiometers inside the paddle controllers, it will do the trick for One player games until you find new ones.
