I think a TurboGraphix 16 would be cool... I never find any of those around here. I can't really think of anything else right now off the top of my head that I've always wanted but never gone to any real length to get in some form or another. -
Hrmm... I have older computer equipment...(like Apple II, C64, Amiga, etc...) I have a couple old portable radios... An old Columbia radio and a little 80's JVC PC100 boombox. I have a big soundesign motorized digital clock radio with a backlit radio display on my nightstand because I just like the way it looks...though I'd really like to take it appart and clean it inside.. I'm just not sure I'd be able to put it back together. I have an old GTE automatic Electric Rotrary phone plugged in here on my desk... and an old bright orange bell trimline wall mount touch tone phone... both these phones have bell ringers. My stereo system consists of a receiver made in 1976, two tape decks made around 1979, a late 1980s 6 disk caddy based cd changer.... all pioneer stuff... also have a Dual 1218 turntable.. I collect music on Records, cassette, and CD...most of my recorded music(excluding Mp3's which I've actually been listoning to less and less) is on Records. I have a couple top loading RCA selectavision Hi Fi VCRs... a side loading Zenith VHS, and a Sony Super Beta Hi Fi and a pioneer laserdisk player....though currently I have no media for the Betamax or laserdisk player so I don't really know if they even work.

I've added myself to the map. Nobody else registered in WA? what the heck. My only complaint on frappr is that on the bigger ones with more members it often get's slugged up and causes firefox to ask if I want to stop it because it's running very very verrrryyyy sloooowwwllyyyy

I've never tried it, but I bet the metal pick your dentist uses to make you hurt would probably work pretty good.... not those cheep plastic things you see at the drug store...but an actual small metal hook with a sharp point attatched to a metal handle.

gamefaqs NES completion campaign?

Why you can't use the light gun on just any kind of TV. How you can cheat by putting the gun right up to the screen if you're not actually interested in playing. I dunno what else... -

Cool... get anything with it or just the computer? Anything interesting inside? nah nothin much inside, got the monitor, keyboard, printer, mouse and 3.5 drive with it also though. today i found Schindlers list VHS 1.99 at voa Ah, but you did get a complete base system setup, that is good for free. But no RAM card? You should look into getting something that is at least 2MB...preferably 4MB at some point in time. -
Yeah, the boot carts suck and are not worth the effort to hunt down. I looked into them enough to figure that out... the mutlibios is the best way to go. Anyway, I bought it from that person in Germany using paypal(makes international payments really easy) and then sent my Sega CD and Genesis along with the multibios to OSG so they would be fully modified for all imports... OSG did a good job on it and put the switches on the back like I asked and even made it so that my model 1 Sega Genesis sends stereo audio through the expantion port to the Sega CD for mixing so I don't have that clumsy looking patch cable coming out of the front of my genesis.

I've found a lot of NES games(good bunch of them in nice minty boxes) since I last posted here, but I think I'll post those later... Right now I just want to show you peoples this. I just wish the store I found this in had the printer... cuz I can't try it out... stupid putting PSU in printer... That sticker says $19.95 and that covers the main unit, the keyboard, and both controllers. -
I once dreamed that I found a 25" RCA colortrak 2000 console TV just like the one I had except it had like mondo number of sets of composite/stereo inputs, Chroma/luma inputs... and even analog RGB inputs... it was totally nuts and it was like labeled at $25 and I was like trying to like take it but I couldn't get it to bloody move! I was pushing and pushing and I could not slide it from where it sat in the back of the thrift store. When I woke up both my hands were placed firmly against the wall. Wah! Other than that, a few days ago I dreamed I walked into my room and like all my video games and computers were stolen. I woke myself up cuz I started moaning. I don't really normally have dreams like that though... at least not that I remember. Mostly I just dream that I've just done something really golly awfull stupid at work.

Is it possible to build an Arkanoid controller?
Rockin' Kat replied to keilbaca's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You might want to mention which system you're looking to make your controller for. -
I would love to be able to play backups on my saturn.. but I have two mods and I couldn't get either of them to work in my Saturn. I got them both from Jandaman's. They were only like $15 each though... the way it worked to order was they are usually out of stock, you get yourself put on a list and then when the list is long enough you get notified of an order coming in so you can go to the store and buy one.

Well, you can see his Washington State drivers license number... for a few bucks you could probably find out, and track him/her down. Whatever the case, it is a real dork that does that at all, because it's an entierly useless means of keeping things from being stolen. On other notes, I botched it, I totally botched it. I got epoxy at a hardware store, mixed it, tried to apply it and just made a sticky mess.... before I could get it off it got real sticky and hard.... so I had to break out the chemicals and ended up with bits of the finish flaking off the front bezel just below the spot I was trying to work on. This sucks. So.. now pretty much my only option as far as I'm conserned is to just try to find a replacement bezel, which so far I have gotten no replies. Man.... I swear whenever I try to figure out how to do something like this, it never ever seems to end up working out right at all. AHHGGG!!

I only really like Mini Putt style golf games.... with that, my favorite is Zany Golf. I play it on my Apple IIgs, there is a genesis version of Zany Golf to.... usually lockouts prevent it from working on most Genesis systems since it was an early unlicensed title, but putting a game genie in makes ot play.

One of my concerns is that if I use the wrong kind of paint it might be too glossy and shine more than the rest of the case.

This qualifies as a "hardware" topic right? I recently picked up a very nice hardly discolored 128k Mac with keyboard for $23 locally. It was a bit dirty.... there was one other thing though... the original bastard owner GOUGED his Washington State ID number right into the case accross the top above the CRT with some sort of heat rod! At first I was thinking about trying to find a replacement front bezel, but it's not going very quickly, so I just went ahead and cleaned the Mac up as is.... and then I got to thinking and decided to file the area that had been gouged so there was no plastic sticking out beyond the surface, just the indentation left, just to make it a little less glaring. Now though I'm wondering... if maybe I could fill it in with some sort of epoxy and paint over the area where the ID was melted in to just make it go away. A friend of mine suggested maybe some hobby epoxy or maybe some sort of plastic "filler" agent.... I was just wondering anyone here has ever done something like this and maybe would have something to add? Pictures from when I first picked it up can be found on my particles.org 128k thread.

When I first got my C64 it had a problem where one of it's input controller IC's died. I was able to get help in diagnosing it and then find someone with a replacement CIA chip(there are two of them and one of them died to make it so I could not use the keyboard or game ports) using the C= Homestead mailing list.

I second the motion. Me too. On other Notes: This thread is getting pointless? yes no?

Personally, if I don't have a system yet and I find one for less than $10 I don't think too much before buying...I just look it over and make sure it's in one peice and not filled with sticky goo...or missing any parts...I once found a PSX with no mechanism for reading or spinning disks. Thinking results in missing it. My own opionion on whether a game system is worth owning is all I care about at that price(and I can't exactly make that up if I don't buy it.) I dunn know what this thing is about high prices.. I mean, I got the vast majority of my Saturn games for under $2 each(of cource, then I got most of them in one big haul at a thrift store...all boxed with inserts... $1.99 each).... I think I have like 40 of them... though I stopped really keeping track of shit like that before I got much of anything for Saturn. If you do go back and it is actually still there, you should check with a clerk to see if they aren't keeping the accessories behind the counter or something.... or just scour the whole electronics department for them. If you have a PSX or Dreamcast power cable, you could see if the system will light up it's Power LED when turned on.
