  1. yeah.. it's allways some guy who doesn't bother to post in the thread at all.
  2. I've used a reversable Game Pad before.... moving the d-pad and buttons to the opposite sides of the controller just feels weird and doesn't seem right to me.... but joysticks do seem to feel better when using the right hand to control the sitck and left for buttons.... but then I generally don't like big joysticks anyway.... thumb sticks are nice though.... larger joysticks just make my hand sore.
  3. WAH! Free C64 games and I missed em' !?
  4. Well, I guess I just got another joystick.... this is my chance to be a hypocrite and make a post simply because it's my 1,000th post :-P (normally I pretend like somehow I think it's uncool to do this kind of posting... but whatever) Anyway.. speaking of game pads.. I saw a link to these in a 5200 thread... wireless NES and SNES game pads... I really really hope they're good... cuz I just bought 2 sets of 2.... a 2 controller set for the NES and a 2 Controller set for my SNES :-) Post 1000 and stuff whoo hoo.... I can't wait to try out those game pads....they look really slick. Maybe they'll make some for other systems too down t he road.
  5. I think Cyber Speedway is kind of a cool racing game for Saturn.. :-) but then that might be because it's my only racing game on Saturn, but still.... I havn't really played it much... racing games are a bit more fun with another player... and I havn't actually been able to play multiplayer(won't do it online) in anything for about 2 and a half years. Lee: I sent you a reply after you first replied to me but I never got a reply to that with my questions answered... should I resend it to you?
  6. That's good to hear. I wonder why they were down for so long.
  7. Pick it up? but I'd break my back doing that! (not really but it is pretty heavy)... Had this machine for a long loooong time.. I just cleaned it up. :-P I wonder how many times I can post in a row?
  8. And thank you.. without that link I'd never know what it means to read the manual all the way through before throwing in the towel.
  9. gee... I'm such a moron... If I looked a little further in the manual I would have realized the "trading cards" were printed in the manual.... bah!
  10. I used to do all sorts of emulaton.. got a lot of emulators for Mac OS at emulation.net and downloaded tons of ROMs here and there but I don't anymore.. It got boring for me after a while.... I just don't feel like playing it unless it's on the original hardware because it just doesn't feel right.
  11. Yeah... that's an option... but I don't have my Genesis right now.... That...and I'd have to make the effort to find the game.... I generally just buy what's cheap and what I don't have because I never know what I really want when it comes to older games.. There's gotta be a way to get the answeres so I can actualy load the game... it's probably going to suck since I don't remember there being a joystick port on the 286 but it's taking up space on the hard drive.... the disks weren't bad.... I just need the right info to type in to proced to actually playing the game.
  12. Well, I had just recently cleaned up my old WYSE 286 inside and out and thought I'd give older PC games a shot... so I found some boxed games over at goodwill.... I asked the cashier to cut the packing tape they use to close boxed games so I could make sure there were actually disks in the box... I found that it had all it's 5.25" floppies.. looked as though it might not have all it's 3.5" disks.. but that doesn't matter since my 286 doesn't have a 3.5" floppy drive (not yet anyway) So I got it home, booted up the 286 to DOS 5.0... loaded win 3.1.1 and used File manager to make backups of the disks... since I have tons of blank DD 5.25" floppies... so then I exited windows and proceded to install the game on the 20MB hard drive and ran it.. It asked me some questions... hrmm... questions? about character stats... so I looked in the manual about this and found that I had to get these question answeres off of "trading cards" which were included with the game in order to run the game... this is the copy protection! Well. guess what! I don't have the cards, I have manual, box, and disks... but no cards... bah! so I enter junk in and hit enter and get told I don't know much..and that I can just run demo wiith the prompt "fatman/demo" ... and then it quits to dos and says "failed copy protection!" I tried looking the game up on underdogs but found that there was no documentation available... Perhaps someone here has these "Trading cards" or knows where I can get the answeres to these questions? Gotta love it when "copy protection" keeps you from using your original copies eh?
  13. Not that I've ever played the game or anthing but... Macledge.com game review on Dark Castle.
  14. Wah! I got ripped! I paid $2 for my boxed copy at GoodWill.
  15. Oh yeah! Day of the Tentical rocks! I originally saw the MS DOS version at a friends house and just had to get it. I bought the Mac version on ebay for a few bucks a month ago.... you can always find it on ebay in abundance... but it NEVER has a box.... always just the disk... oh well. Lucas Arts made a lot of cool games for the Mac back then that I'd like to get. :-)
  16. I've used lysole bathroom cleaner to clean up some really nasty computer cases in the past. don't know that I'd want to use it on plastic though... As far as cleaning circuit boards and such... I generally just use my air compressor to blow the dirt off.. usually works well for the dirt that usually gets in... for contacts I just rub them with an alcohol soaked rag(non-abrasive.)
  17. I personally really liked a lot of Ambrosia Software's shareware games... Harry the Handsome Executive was one of my favorites in particular. Pretty much all of there games are available from their website.
  18. I once bought a NES Sattalite that had mega bad corrosion in the battery compartment.... I took it apart and soaked the plastic casing in goo gone for a few minutes.. then ran it under water and the corrosion just washed right off effortlessly.
  19. Room 34: I think your stuff sounds really cool.
  20. I went and put everything in a spreadsheet and came out with 29.96721312
  21. I'll defenatly get an DS not too long after the release date if I can help it. It just looks so awsome..... Too bad they didn't make it support multiplayer in older GBA games through it's wireless connection...oh well.. It's not like I ever actually get to play multiplayer with my GBA:SP anyway.
  22. If it makes you feel any better, my local Goodwill store applies packing tape liberally to all boxed games to make sure that manuals, disks, and cartridges aren't lost... It's very annoying... though I usually tend to be able to peel it off slowly withouth damage once in a while I tear the box or it pulls some of the ink off... and then there was that time where I grabbed some really old PC games and one C64 game, all boxed, asked them to slice the tape so I could check the contents... well.. all except for the C64 game had been opened and everything was there...well I got home and realized I missed opening the C64 one.. so I peeled the tape off and found out I paid $2 for an empty box
  23. Personally, I like playing it on Commodore64.
  24. Free is allways nice... and I think you're just getting way too lucky with all this free stuff... anyway... Speaking of getting Macs, a little while ago I picked up a PowerMac 9600/200 with 10/100T ethernet card for $15. It works fine... waiting on a monitor.. actually got one but had to return it cuz it was buggered up(scratched CRT and the image was ghosted ontop of itself) Huh?
