Back for an encore, what systems do you have?
Rockin' Kat replied to Atari_Worshipper's topic in Classic Console Discussion
One of these posts again... lets see...I have a few more since the last such thread so... Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari Lynx Sega Master System Sega Genesis Sega CD Sega 32x Sega Saturn Sega Dreamcast Sega Game Gear Nintendo Entertainment System SuperNES Nintendo 64 Nintendo Game Cube Game Boy through Game Boy Advance:SP Intellivision Commodore64 Apple II through IIgs Neo Geo Color pocket. [edited cuz I forgot abou the NGCP] -
I've been using IGN's game tracking service to track my collection... whenever I've want to add a game that isn't in their database allready I've been able to e-mail them with the system it's for, the name of the game, the publisher...maybe a developer and perhaps a release date and they've added it for me... They even added a section for Apple IIgs games because I e-mailed them about it. I like using an online system because it's cross-platform and I can give just about anyone a link to it and have them be able to view it without downloading any software to their computer.

Hey, A while back I picked up a Lynx II. I got a game for it...and the Lynx didn't work...well..it's speaker worked ....the case lookes nice..the buttons appeared to do something....the screen lit up....but the picture was all garbled. I took a good look in the cartridge port and no pins appeared to be out of place so I tried cleaning it and still got garbled junk on screen. All games put in the slot exhibit the same problem... I've tried replacing the display with one from another Lynx II only to get the same problem... It is most likely the main board that is hozed.. whatever the case it'd probably make a good parts doner should someone be looking for parts to repair their Lynx II with. You can see an old thread I posted about this problem back when I first found out it had a problem here if you wish. Anyway, I'm looking to trade it for a few games or perhaps just sell it. I accept games for: NES SNES N64 GB, GBC, GBA. GameCube SMS Genesis/Sega CD/32X Game Gear Saturn Dreamcast 2600 5200 7800 Lynx Intellivision Thank you for looking.

You take them appart(be sure to start by removing the bezel holding the auxilary buttons first..otherwise you'll damage the flex circuit when you open the joystick) and clean the flex circuits and buttons inside with rubbing alcohol... but it's hardlly worth the effort....with every controller I tried it on the controllers worked fine for a day and then went back to being non-functional the next time I tried them... thats why I got the replacement parts.

I have a Lynx II and 6 games for it... but the lynx doesn't work.

Hello, I'm looking to trade or sell A Sega Saturn game console. It's a little dinged up on the sides and one of the hinges on the CD door appears to be broken. However, the door still opens and closes fine and it does not affect gameplay. What you're getting is the Saturn, with two controllers(MK-80100), one A/V cable, one, RF cable, and one power cable. click here for the big picture Later in the day I will be going to a certain store (which will remain nameless) that has some unopened Saturn old-stock to see if I can't find some games to bundle with it. Anyway, I am first looking for a possible trade, however if can not trade it I will turn around and try selling it instead. If I trade it I am only looking to trade it for another game console/portable. Systems I am looking to trade for: Atari Lynx (I'd really like one of these...I've got games for it but no [working] System) ColecoVision Intellivision Atari 1200XL Some other system I don't know I want.

I think the Commodore64 is a pretty cool computer too.... nice sound, nice graphics... I really like mine...you can also get a special cable to hook up an old PC and have it emulate the floppy drive with the right sofware and load games straight from the PC. only problem I have with it is that I've had to get my commodore equipment repaired about 3 times now :-/

Well.... The Apple IIgs was a 16-bit computer(all the other II's were 8-bit) and the last of the Apple II line... THe IIgs is my favorite computer.... gs stood for graphics and sound by the way.. ...They're also incredibly easy to get for next to nothing if you know where to look online(the IIgs that is)... I got mine for shipping cost. I'd suggest downloading some emulators and disk images(click here for Apple II archives) and seeing what you like.

I used to use Agent (which I paid for) in Windows to browse and read Usenet, but as my Usenet patronage started to dwindle, I ended up relying on DejaNews (long-since absorbed by Google) to browse and post to various newsgroups. Now that I'm using OS X full-time, I haven't even bothered to download a newsreader. ..Al Come to think of it....When Comcast bought AT&T broadband, AT&T's free usenet server went pay.... It really sucks that Comcast cable is the only broadband I can get where I live...before that happened I would check version tracker once in a while to see if there were any better readers available...now I don't have acces to a usenet server to try them with. :-(

When I first got my Apple IIGS in 2000 I would go to comp.sys.apple2 for help a lot. I even sold a few things through comp.sys.apple2.marketplace It's been at least a year since I really bothered much with usenet though.. havn't used my newer e-mail address with it at all in fact.... ...which brings me to the spam.... a while after I started using usent I starteed geting an incredible rate of spam at my old e-mail address.... I hardly ever get spam with my current address yet it's on practicaly every page of my website. Part of the reason I don't bother much with usenet anymore is I never did find a usenet client I really liked after I upgraded to Mac OS X.

Last time I went to Goodwill I bought a bunch of SMS games at $3 each.... This time I got the following: For Genesis, boxed with manual at $2.99 each- Street Fighter II Mortal Kombat II Ms. Pac-man X-men...even had a cool poster in it. Two boxed 6-button Sega Genesis Arcade sticks that look like they have never been used... $3.99 each But the main reason I'm posting is this: Sega Saturn w/ two controllers, A/V cable, RF cable, power cable, and instruction manual for $9.99 -
hedgehog is correct NES power supplies put out 9V AC. Genesis power supplies put out 9V DC. If you want to fry your genesis, go ahead and use an NES adaptor on it. It seems like every time I see someone post looking for a Genesis power supply someone suggests they use an NES adaptor.

No one has a spare C64 power supply?
Rockin' Kat replied to General Atarian's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
ooh. I found a heavy duty one on ebay! Heavy duty ones are less likely to go bad and take the sytem with them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=3670 5 days left, no bids, at $4.00 Just as long as you're willing to pay by something other than paypal it appears....(considering it's the only one I could find on e-bay) If I didn't have a heavy duty model already I'd probably go for it. -
Does any one have an extra power supply for...
Rockin' Kat replied to General Atarian's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
It might help if you made mention of what you were looking for in the topic rather than relying on people to click on it out of curiosity. Oh... and I recomend trying to get a heavy duty model power supply since it'll be less likely to go belly up and take the computer with it. I acctually have an extra one (not a heavy duty model) but being that I've had to repair/get repairs done on my JiffyDOS enhanced Commodore64 twice now I've become a little paranoid about testing things like powersupplies and such on my system. -
I currently have about 45 NES games....In about a week I'll have exactly 94 NES games....I have a big package on it's way.
-
since you guys want a list of my systems....
Rockin' Kat replied to nesfanboy86's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Well if others are posting what they have..then I may as well too.... Sega Master System Sega Genesis (model 1) Sega CD (model 1) Sega 32X Sega Game Gear Sega Nomad Sega Saturn Sega Dreamcast NES GameBoy SuperNES Nintendo64 Nintendo GameCube GameBoy Advance:SP Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Apple IIgs (GS stands for Graphics and Sound by the way) Apple //c Apple Mac SE Commodore64 I'm kinda amazed I got what I did into my 10x11 foot bed room... Not as much as some people have but still. -
Well, that looks lovely..... What's this naked guy with the TV you're talking about?

I think the easiest way to play Arkanoid is with a mouse. When I got my Apple IIgs, Arkanoid(may need to click reload) was the first game I played on it. [edited because the linked site recently moved to a new server and location that is more reliable than it's old location]

I think best eletronics replacement parts were well worth it. I got them as soon as the gold plated ones were released and have been very pleased with them. The Atari 5200 was my first Atari console but untill I got the parts I could never use it...not even cleaning helped. There is a fairly recent one available... it's pretty much plug and play..have to hook up a few things.... It has both composite and Chroma/Luma(S-video).. there is no soldering required. I got it a couple weeks ago and am fairly impressed with it. If you look a few threads down in this forum you can find more about it. It can be purchased from www.8bitdomain.com

A lot of people don't bother to set clocks on all their appliances and electronics.

I usually ship heavier items with FedEx Ground..... I shipped some computer equipment a while back and it came out to about $20 less to ship with FedEx Ground instead of UPS ground.
