Wow, that is soooo VERY cool! I love the Vectrex! At first I thought someone was doing a real classic edition.

Yeah, I guess I was thinking, "If they make the ROMs harder to obtain, then people will be less likely to want to get an Everdrive." But then, people who are in the market for an Everdrive are probably not just your average "casual" retro-gamer. They're probably more seriously into retro, so they're probably not that easily scared off... I've been considering a Turbo Everdrive for a while, but, instead of this whole mess making me hesitate, the idea of getting the Super System SD or whatever it's called is the thing making me hold off...

TG-16 Season 2 Round 13 Blazing Lazers
Eltigro replied to NIKON's topic in TG-16/PC Engine High Score Club
Yeah, not sure how active the TG-HSC is... I did something similar with Legendary Axe, but no updates to the All Time list. Don't know how that works... might have to get in contact with CGQuarterly to see if they can update the all time list. -
I wonder how much if any this has or will affect sales of things like the Everdrive.

I don't know about a soul, but I think it has a brain... after all, they say it's thinking...

What Is Classic Gaming's Greatest Need?
Eltigro replied to blainelocklair's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Sang to the tune of "I want a new drug" by Huey Lewis and the News. =) -
Truck broke down tonight on the way to pick up my son for a Boy Scout campout... campout canceled. Sucks.
-
If you want to sound more important, pronounce campout like if it were a French word: "cammpoo".

It was the thermostat housing. Bought a new one this morning and replaced it myself to save some money. Only took about an hour.
-
I helped my friend replace his stuck thermostat on his FWD Saturn last weekend. The housing was buried and hard to get to. We lost 3 10mm sockets. lol. I should've used my extension. Trucks are way easier to work on (way more room). I am glad you figured it out before blowing up your engine with lack of coolant.

How Should I Keep Track of Your Game Collection?
Eltigro replied to Games Retrospect's topic in Classic Console Discussion
How to keep track of your new topic submissions... But, to speak to the topic, I have tried several times to start something, but I'm bad about keeping up with it. You name it, Word, Excel, online sites (one called VGCollect was the most recent), but I just lose interest in doing it after a while. My collection is still pretty small that I know pretty well whether I have a game or not. It helps that I mostly only get games I plan on playing. I don't collect just for the sake of collecting and have zero interest in getting a full set of anything. -
My girlfriend, a non-gamer, non-sports person, is currently addicted to a golf themed card game on her phone. It's kind of like Spider Solitaire from what I've seen, with the cards in different formations around the screen. There are some that have water hazards that give extra points for clearing or thick grass she has to get rid of before seeing what the card is or being able to play it. She can be awarded clubs which act as passes or something and there's mulligans. I don't play it so I don't know all the nuances or rules or even the name. But it's interesting that she's been so into it for so long. Most mobile games she plays for about a week or two and then moves on, but this one has been a couple months.

Why is the Xbox One Dashboard experience so horrible?
Eltigro replied to DracIsBack's topic in Microsoft Xbox One
It seems that a lot of Microsoft UI lately is geared toward touch screen or *shudder* the Kinect. I think this means big blocks that can be easily pressed instead of smaller icons or lists which might be easier to navigate with mouse or controller. I think this has contributed to the jumbled interface and confusing layout. I have a computer with Windows 10 and its UI gives me fits sometimes. I need to look into seeing if there's a way to change it to look like 2000 or XP or NT or just about anything else... -
Why do people actively hate "pre-NES" consoles?
Eltigro replied to zetastrike's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I did not know about that. But I'm glad I do now. Fun stuff! -
Why do people actively hate "pre-NES" consoles?
Eltigro replied to zetastrike's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I've gotten to where I enjoy watching people review old cheap PC games. There's one that goes to Goodwill then reviews whatever he finds there. I mean, there's going to be a million reviews of Fallout 76, RDR2, and such, but how many reviews of Putt-Putt goes to the Moon are there? -
Some racing for me this week... XBox One Forza 6 - 117 min (Just finished up the Porsche Motorsport Next thing... or whatever... still have all the Showcases to do. I'll get to the eventually...) Edit: Ooops... forgot this one... PSP Lunar Silver Star Harmony - 206 min (Still playing a little bit before bed... not every night, but a few. Main thing I need to do is play often enough to remember where I'm supposed to go or what I'm supposed to do next. Took me a bit of wandering around to figure it out last time I picked it up. lol)

I have a N64 for one game. Mario 64. Dont really have much nostalgia for the system other than that game. Wasnt super into Ocarina or Majora or any of the other big games. I havent had it hooked up in a couple years, but I keep it around just in case.

Ive played a lot of Hot Shots Open Tee on the PSP lately. Its a fun little golf game with plenty of features and fast play. The fact that its portable doesnt hurt. Ive also played quite a bit of PGA Tour 97 for the Saturn. Its not the greatest, with lots of load times, but its not bad. Predictable swing mechanic and fair gameplay. Recently got a Tiger Woods game for my XBox. Think its maybe 2005? Really different swing mechanic in that you use the analog stick and pull down for the back swing and then push forward for the swing. A bit like the Golden Tee arcade with the track ball in case youve ever played that. Makes it a bit more difficult to gauge your power but with practice, it does work. In another thread I mentioned playing one of the Links games on my brother in laws computer. Not sure exactly which one, but this would have been around 2000 or so Id guess. Before then, I remember being able to rent computer games at a place in Dallas somewhere. They copy protection was one of those where you have to identify a hole from a list in the manual. They were printed on dark paper to make it hard to photocopy. Those were the days.

Didn't Ape Escape need the analog controls? I mean, that's an oversight in itself for the PSClassic, but since it doesn't have that, Ape Escape is kind of silly to be considering... Tomb Raider, I agree with... Wipeout, may have had issues with licensing... music, iirc, and Red Bull... That game was the first place I heard of Red Bull. It was pretty prominent in the loading screens... Crash Bandicoot, nah... just had the NSane Trilogy... Ridge Racer, never played Type 4, so either one would be fine probably... ooo... or maybe Rage Racer... I remember liking that one a lot... Spyro, nah, got the rerelease trilogy thing coming out... I'd rather keep Abe's Oddysee than Legacy of Kain or Silent Hill... Gran Turismo, too many licenses... people seem to be completely ignoring this... music and cars... people are already complaining about the cost, this would just make it higher... PaRappa I played and didn't like... people are also concerned with lag... dunno... I'd rather have GTA... Cool Boarders I have zero interest in, but Tony Hawk has too many licenses, too... more licenses, higher cost, less profit at current price point... ("But Sony's got billions!" Yeah, and they didn't get those billions by losing money or breaking even.) Intelligent Qube I wasn't a fan of... never played Vib Ribbon, but I wonder if it would be sensitive to lag in inputs, too being a rhythm type game... probably wouldn't care for it either... give me a shmup like G Darius or the Gradius that the Japanese version got... My thing is, although I'm not that thrilled with the list of games that did make it on the system, I can see very good reasons why the ones everyone wants on there aren't on there. But it doesn't matter. People want what they want and this was never going to please everyone... but it seems it doesn't please anyone either. lol

Here's a vid where the YouTuber, Wood, is from Australian who talks about it a lot. I think he's wrong... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl5Bm-bkLy4

I've sat here and said "Sega" to myself about 100 times trying to figure out the best way to write what I say... and now I'm not sure how I say it anymore. lol
