Then you have carts like Virtua Racing and Everdrives which take even more power. I wouldn't chance it. I'd stick with the original amperage ratings or better.

Get the proper power supply. I'd rather buy a used working name brand off of eBay than one of these craptacular knock-offs.

Jass, from what I've seen, 90% of the time if your Master System is getting no power, it's because someone put the wrong AC Adapter in it and blew that 7805 voltage regulator. Got a SMS from Goodwill that was DOA, replaced it and it's running perfect. (Had a little trouble with the channel select switch, but it seems to be working fine now.) Only thing I can't test is the card slot as I have no card games.

Ans they're cheap, too. You can get like 10 of them for a dollar.

some of the quiz and puzzle titles aren't terrible. When I left the Navy, I didn't care enough about it to remove it from the watch station. I bet it's still just sitting there, since the base closed down and I can't imagine anybody wanting it. If I ever get back to that building I'll look for it.

It was in a lot of random stuff I got for cheap on Goodwill's auction site. I bid on it for the Master System and Game Gear that were in it, but also got the Game Wave, some leapster stuff, some Skylanders things, a PC game, and a broken N64 controller. Game wave has no games or controllers.

Yeah... I'm not so lucky. Had one opened up that I'm replacing the power supply board on and went ahead and took the dvd drive out to look... yep... it was leaking... gonna check my original one I've had since new to see the version and see if I need to do surgery on it.

Looks like the one I've had since new was manufactured in October of 2004, so it should be good, right?

Ha! Figured someone would see through my ruse! But seriously, it wouldn't register even with the tip of the phaser on the TV screen on the target. Same problem with light guns for SMS, NES, and Saturn. Turned brightness to 100% (was at about 75%) and starts working perfectly.

I wish there was such a thing as a "new" CRT, but I don't think they're being made anymore.

Well yeah, but wondering if having to crank up the brightness is a sign that mine is going to crap out soon...

Probably a quarter of my High Score Club scores from this past season were games played at work with the Flashback Portable.

Bought myself 2 7800 homebrews (I typically buy a couple of things for my wife to give me). Last year was actually the first year in almost a decade I got anything gaming-related, so nice to get back into it.

I got a Harmony Encore cart from the misses yesterday and a nice shelving system to store my Wii games from a friend. =)

I know a thread usually comes up, but there hasn’t been one yet and I would’ve only had the one thing to post about, but it surprised and excited me. Had to tell someone. lol
