  1. I remember getting a patch for River Raid back in the 80's, but don't have it anymore.
  2. Wow, that must be the ancestor to the "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" commercials! lol Can't believe I hadn't seen that one before. Centipede I've never found that playable without a track ball, but that's just because that's what I'm used to from the arcade machine. I have it for the 2600 but not happy with the joystick control of it. Missle Command would be great with a mouse I would think, but never played it with one. I've played Breakout style games with both mouse and a stylus (on DSi) but I feel I was better at them when using the paddle controller on the 2600.
  3. Yeah, when playing that on my NES I always used my NES Advantage. It was a great advantage.
  4. Fester's Quest. Sunsoft, you could have done better... Great thread. This is fun!
  5. Thought of several that were already listed, but adding... Phantasy Star Collection (had PS1,2,3 on GBA and another game with the same name had PS1, 2, 3 and 4 for the Saturn in Japan only) There's also the bonus Zelda disc for the Gamecube that had Zelda 1, 2, OoT, and Majora's Mask on it. If you're including downloaded emulator type games, every game on the Wii Virtual Arcade and in the Game Room "game" on 360.
  6. Perhaps a little lame, but right now I'm hooked on LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Still trying to get all those minikits and gold bricks and stuff...
  7. Back in high school (I graduated in '93 to give you a time reference), I sold my NES and all the games, controllers, Nintendo Power magazines, and strategy guides in a garage sale. I had just gotten my TurboGrafx and wanted money to buy a new game. My mom marked it down from the price I set on it and sold it all for $40. Not near what it was worth and not enough for a new game either. I was pretty pissed. I really don't think I've sold any games or systems since.
  8. I got my SNES on Ebay a while back and it came with several games. Among them were All-Stars, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Kart, and Zelda LttP. I haven't played any of them in a while, but the All-Stars game was pretty great mainly because the original games were pretty great. But for some reason, nostalgia I'm sure, I prefered the old graphics of SMB instead of the slicked up graphics on the All-Stars cart.
  9. I'm no expert either, but I was under the impression that only one controller had a microphone to begin with. I'd have to research more. Don't have one but wish I did, it'd be a cool addition to the collection.
  10. I agree with some others about Galaga '90 on the TG, but the Turbo version of R-Type is pretty awesome, too.
  11. I never beat Tyson. I never beat the guy before him, but to could get to that guy pretty regularly (back then). These days I have trouble getting past the second Piston Honda. If you beat it, great. But don't say it isn't a challenge. The toughest game that I ever beat was probably the first Castlevania. It took quite a while but persistence paid off. I will not say it was easy or not a challenge. It was pretty darn tough and I'm proud I did it. I will not say that someone who hasn't beaten it just hasn't tried hard enough. That and Metal Gear are the only ones on Soul Blazer's list above that I can say I beat without cheats or codes. I've played GnG. It was nightmarish. I think I played Battletoads, but I've blocked it out of my memory (according to my thearpist). I think of the original three mentioned, I got farthest in Ninja Gaiden. I don't remember how far, though. It was a rental and I do know I didn't beat it.
  12. I used to live in Longview... Longview Texas that is... I've wanted a SuperGrafx for quite a while and really only for the 1941 game and just to have one. Glad to hear you got a TurboGrafx, be sure to get some of the many SHMUPs for it and do a review (like the one for the Genesis shooters you did.)
  13. Just wondering, is there any technical reason why they couldn't offer these games for the DSi? I'm guessing they are doing it just for the 3DS because they want to boost sales and interest in that system. I mean, since there are emulated GG games on it (which I haven't looked into, I'm just going by your comment), there shouldn't be an issue with the hardware's capability, right? I have an XL and would love to be able to download some retro games on it. As it is, I don't really play it that much. Actually, the last game I downloaded and played on it was a Breakout clone/update type game. lol
  14. I don't know anyone's real name, and for that reason would rather people used their usernames if only because if you just came out and said something like, "Bob knows where to get those, you should ask him." I'd have no idea who you were talking about. lol
  15. I remember renting Ninja Gaiden back in the day and my friend and I staying up all night to play it. I remember getting pretty far into the game, but not beating it.
