  1. Unfortunately I had very little time the past couple of weeks and what little time I did have only highlighted I've always been at games like this (other examples being Doom, Quake, etc.) - I could never get through the 1st floor in any amount of time worth bothering to post.
  2. I am definitely interested in a 'kit' from this first batch if still available (1 Burner + 1 Lynx 16-in-1 Cart).
  3. Interesting that you're finding issues with the disc not being read and other errors. I have had numerous issues running this game; freeze ups, disc not read, etc. Carl kindly worked with me a lot on this, even exchanging my initial disc with another one but I still had the same issues. In the end, I just had to conclude that there is something about this game/disc and my JagCD where they just dont like to play together nicely as I dont have isues with other Jag discs.
  4. Picked up the PSTV on Saturday. Got it setup, grabbed TxK (which looks/plays great). However my daughter got the most use out of the thing; I had no idea she had any interest in and would enjoy the included Lego Movie Game; uncharacteristically we allowed her many hours of play with it. We usually try to create some reasonable limits of video game time, although admittedly she's pretty good at limiting herself without guidance as she enjoys a number of other things that are not technology related. Also grabbed and have been enjoying a revisit to the first Tomb Radier. The fact that I had some Best Buy rewards to put towards the already marked down price of $99 for the bundle made picking this up a no brainer given that 30 or so years ago I willingly picked up the Jag for Tempest 2000 alone.
  5. Just waiting for some Best Buy reward points to hit and I suspect I will be putting my accumulated certificates and a gift card towards the PSTV for this.
  6. 57"64' - I know this course by heart, I know what I believe to be the key 'out-of-gate' start and button sequences for the first 9-10 gates prior to the dirt, I know there are at least two good lines (the first being lining up,passing through the blue gate prior to the dirt, jumping and landing the next red gate just perfect) so that, if you can get on them you do not need to turn for a number of gates but for the life of me I just can not execute that 'perfect run' of stringing everything I know about how it 'needs to be done' together. With the scores already posted I knew the moment I missed even two gates, (one if the miss is early on and too bad of a miss within the first 10 gates), there was no point continuing with the run. Nice times to those who have made them!!
  7. Thanks for the heads up about this! I can't wait until April to get this mod done.
  8. I wonder if it it would be possible to build a more comfortable Fairchild Channel F joystick with the 4axis one. At the very least it might provide an easier means of replacing one.
  9. Is there anyone in the U.S who is offering to do the actual mod (and at what cost)?
  10. To add to the robot 'jerkiness', whats up with the times the good ones come out, swoop around and then drop nothing! ?! That 1st round after the 1st bonus round is where I always lose it (the few times I get that far).
  11. 15359 - I am using the medium speed paddle after trying a bit on fast. Also tried slow but it was too slow so settled on medium but still cant find anything akin to 'fine control'; even the fastest/slightest tap on the controller isn't as small a movement as I would like.
  12. 14287 - This game is most frustrating; no fine controls (at least so far as I can tell); so very few power ups (just luck seems to govern if, when and what for the power ups).
  13. DItto this. Track down one of Ken Lil's carts; they are awesome! Also, my understanding was that the last run he did (I think it is at 2.0) would be the last run so best not to wait too long on trying to get one.
  14. I thought the sheet was a nice add in, mine was blue. Unfortunately, in my eagerness to open my package and because of its' position in the package, I ripped the sheet right down the side all the way through. :-(
  15. I just finished watching this and really enjoyed it for the most part but admittedly found/felt a certain awkwardness in hearing origin stories being told 2nd/3rd hand ;it didn't seem/feel quite right hearing them along side other stories told by those who were actually part of them. IMHO, in a different documentary on this material, hearing those stories in such a fashion I think would work fine but in this movie, stylistically speaking, they felt a little out of place. I also wish the movie had included commentary from other individuals in the Atari community who are well known to have an extensive history with Atari (some of whose names I did see in the credits). However, overall, I really enjoyed the movie and look forward to the next installment.
  16. The update is rolling out: http://www.codemystics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&p=765&sid=2342240208edcedc4663425b426eb3f9#p765
  17. 157,351 - Realistic expectations; chasing down that 3rd pace spot, LOL!
  18. Only two things I have discovered to help me so far have been: 1 - As already mentioned, don't get greedy for the Parachutes; it's so tempting to chase them down when they are 'right there', but first things first always, avoid getting hit by enemy craft or fire. 2 - When dealing with the Boss ships, avoid getting too close; utilize the screen scroll (up/down) to keep it on the edge of the top and bottom screens as it moves across. alternate shooting it on a diagonal towards the top/bottom.
