I guess there is already a topic for Brazil games. My bad. If a mod wants to go ahead and delete this topic then please do. Thanks and sorry.
-
This game was made in Brazil and I am just wondering if it super rare since I couldn't find it in the rarity guide.

Thanks so much for using dye and not paint! How much are these controllers apiece? I ask because I see no point in IMing you unless I know they are a price I want to pay. Sorry, that is just how I am lol.

No I haven't played it but I am glad you made this post so I know it is out now.My bad I thought we were talking about the new Mario Bros coming out on the Wii lol. I must have been high or something. But I didn't know about that site that was linked. Cool stuff.
-
Evil Exidy recently linked this on #arcade in ETG..I actually live pretty close to that guy. I should track him down and ask him if I can play his games lol. There is a dude I sub to on youtube that has a VERY impressive arcade in his house. It is all Atari games.

When going to flea markets for games I suggest looking through the sections that just sell various things. Those are the ones that you want since they may only have a game or two but they don't really know what they are worth. So they sell them for way cheap or for a set price. The sellers that ONLY sell games in flea markets are generally fail. Because they are charging game store/ebay prices. Some people are tricked by those people and think they are getting a good deal just because they are at a flea market.
-
Yeah I understand what you mean all too well. I come across lots of good deals on craigslist and have to pass a lot of them up. Because it gets to the point that I spend so much on retro games that I have no money left for new games. Or for food lol. But it is a little different for me since I review games on various websites and come across free games sometimes.

@gameguider
That will not work because consoles that yellow, such as the SNES, yellow from flame retardant cheicals in the plastic. In other words, if you take it apart you will see that it has yellowed not only on the top but the whole piece of plastic has yellowed.
@warmachine
YES! ABS plastic that is it. I couldn't think of that for the life of me. Thanks man!

Does anyone know the exact type of plastic that consoles such as the Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, NES and others are made of? I ask because a guy on youtube made a video about cleaning game consoles with WD-40. It just seems like a bad idea to me. I mean that stuff takes rust off chains. So it seems like it would wear at the writing that is on consoles(ie: power and insert cartridge here). He didn't just spray the hell out of the console or anything. He sprayed some on a rag and then just kinda genitally wiped it down. It seemed to do the job. And the WD-40 website says that it is safe for plastics besides a few. So could this damage consoles? Is there any chance that it could seep into the plastic and mess it up? Maybe cause pitting or weak spots? I know that people that work on pinball machines don't use it because it causes fires and things to sort out. But will it hurt the exterior of a game console?
And also if you don't use WD-40 then what do you suggest? I personally just take the consoles apart and use warm water.

Can you also region unlock games with the Game Genie?Yes you can. Regardless of what other people are saying they are in fact region locked. Here is a video to prove it.

Also, watch his other video he talks about. Moonwalker is in the video I linked. I hope that helps some what.
After watching that video, a more accurate statement would have been "some Genesis/Mega Drive games are region locked". I have never had a Japanese Mega Drive Game not play on my Genesis, but I have a very early console (from the Altered Beast" pack-in period) which I think also makes a difference.
Chris
Thanks for letting us know what a more accurate statement would have been.

Well there isn't much I can add to this topic. But it is WAY awesome to see some people that know that you have to read the instruction manual when it comes to ET. I get really annoyed when I see people with emulator footage on youtube bad mouthing the game just because other people have shit talked the game before them. And I don't understand why people like Adventure so much more than ET. Same thing in some respects. And as what about the Superman game? The way I see all 3 of those games is about the same. Once you know how to beat them they only take like 10 minutes or less to beat.

My supercharger fits fine in my 7800 and Yes it has a 1gig MP3 player connected to it.All work just perfect, the best part is that my 7800 is modded with the S-Video and looks superb on my LCD.
Grab you modded NES controllers and have the best of all worlds.
You're a lucky man! I really want a Supercharger. But they always go for more money then I have at the time. And I still need to mod a NES controller to work on my Atari 7800. I think that would be even better then the Euro 7800 controllers due to not having so much space between the buttons. And that would be way awesome to have S-video!
Lucky now!...but over 10 years of pulling out hair has mad me very Evil and bald.

HAHA yeah I know what you mean. I have only been looking for one for a short amount of time(like a year)but in that time the only place that I can ever find any is eBay and it has been very frustrating trying to get one.

So far out of all the collections on this forum I think I like the way you have organized yours the most. There is a lot there but it is so well organized that you still have a lot of space. Very cool.Thanks! My goal was to make it so everything is accessible. This is the only arrangement I could think of where console, games, and the TV are all within reach from one spot. Now I just need a mini-fridge because the only thing missing from that equation is homebrewed beer!

Well I have the mini fridge going on. But I can only wish that it had beer in it lol.

I show what I get on youtube once every now and then. I usually get my games cheaper than most people(aka free). Here is my latest video where I show what I have recently picked up.

*sorry I couldn't get the BB code to work.

The way that guy mispronounces ever single title annoys me. Does he do it on purpose? He called ChuChu Rocket "Chi Chi rocket" and he called Dino Crisis "Deno Creeesees".Eh, he is a seller not a gamer. World of difference lol. Or he might have a speech impediment. Either way I am not going to judge him. I subbed to his channel so I can see what all he has for sale.

Isle 6! Isle 6! Nappy (er.... diaper) needs changing!I'm outta here!
Awesome. Go Google how to hook up the console you program for to a TV lol.

It's time to run for cover it looks like a flame war is on the way!
Yeah well I don't want any flame war. I just want answers. And that GroovyBee has found it in his better interest to try and insult my intelligence with his assumptions. He seems to be a pretty established member here and I find it to be an insult to this community that he would be allowed to act the way he is to me. Does he think he is funny? Because really I am not laughing. I apologize for losing my cool but I think if he has nothing to say in regards to the subject they he should simply not post.
Dude, take it easy. There are so many noobs that show up and ask questions it gets tiring frequently answering similar questions. If you just make the people mad who are trying to help, pretty soon you'll just get ignored.
Getting back to your original question; make I ask, if you already have the NTSC version of Pole Position why do you want to play the PAL one? There are not any differences in the game. It's going to be a lot of work to swap the BIOS just so you can play a glitchy version of the same game.
Mitch
Thanks Mitch. I appreciate your help. But like I said before it really has nothing to do with playing my PAL version of Pole Position 2. It has to do with playing all PAL games. And I know they might be a little glitchy, but it is just what I want to do. I think it would make a cool youtube video. And I enjoy modding consoles. And I would like to pick up PAL versions of games as well. I review games on a few websites as well as do my best to help others. So when I learn something new I pass on the knowledge. But yeah I understand about noobs coming to the board and it must get really annoying.

Thats a very poor apology. You had plenty of information from Mitch and I. We aren't here to hold your hand or spoon feed you. Good luck finding somebody that will help you out now.Ok and where is my apology? Or should I just assume that you really are an Atari 7800 programmer but for some reason made a topic asking how to hook a American console to a PAL TV? Really man, you seem to be a piss poor programmer if you can't even figure out how to hook up the console you are programming for! You are a silly man. And I have plenty of help on youtube. Really man, you are a disgrace. Has it ever crossed you mind that I came here wanting answers from nice people that share my interests and not some one just telling me to GOOGLE IT? What did you hope to achieve by giving an answer like that?
I never said you were here for anything because unlike you I don't make such outlandish assumptions. I was just in hope that some one that knows what they are talking and is a nice person would help. That is all. I really hope you don't act this pompous in real life. If so you need a swift kick in the ass.

@sinistermoon:
So much electronics experience and you can't get a file on to an EPROM.Google it!
LMAO!!!
Ok dude. You are a fucking asshole. Really man what are you 12 years old? I would think older people that are playing the 7800 would be more mature. Apparently not. I wanted advise from the experts. Not some asshat like you. Really man, you make the whole Atari scene look bad.
Yeah bud I am going to Google the bios on to the chip like magic. Thanks a lot asshole.
-
Whats with the attitude? We don't owe you anything. If you can't program the chip then you'll need to ask somebody to do it for you and then post it out to you for some $$. If the original chip in your 7800 isn't in a socket then you'll have to remove it yourself (or get somebody with electronics experience to do it). So... Welcome to retro computing!I gave no attitude. You don't know me man. I don't like silly assumptions. And right now that is what you and the other dude are doing. Making assumptions and giving obvious options that I could have easily figured for myself(like just buying the NTSC version of Pole Position 2). As far as you know I could be a game programmer or have years of electronics experience(which I do). So instead of talking to me like I am some complete noob you could just tell me what I need in order to achieve this mod. If not, then please do not reply. I don't know if you are just trying to keep your post count up or what but I came here with a question that I hoped to be answered by someone that really knows what they are talking about. No tip toeing around. Just the answer I need and that is it. Maybe if you could have just waited for my video you could have just known what to say or just not have posted anything at all. But for some reason you insisted on posting right away. Like I told the other dude, thank you for whatever information you have given me so far.
-
If you are looking for something cheap than just buy an NTSC 7800 Pole Position. They are very common.Mitch
Ok at this point I think you are kinda missing the point of this mod. I have both the pal and ntsc version of Pole Position 2. It's not about just playing that one game. It is about playing ALL pal games. If you can not tell me how to obtain the chip with the bios you suggested then I guess there is really nothing more you can suggest. I thank you for the information but I am still in need of more info.

Well, at least some of you are playing the collection! I ordered my signed copy from the Intellivision store and STILL haven't got it yet! My credit card was charged so I know the problem isn't on my end. I've been waiting for a month and 5 days now.
