  1. You actually realize that even in "Modern Gaming" you're posting on a "Classic Gaming" website after all? I don't get what's "really lame" about not having a certain game played. Care to explain? 1) Sure I'm posting on a classic gaming site, but this is the Modern Gaming Forum and there is a separate Classic Gaming Forum. 2) RE2 was/is available on the PSX (can be played on PS2 also), N64, Dreamcast, PC and Gamecube, as well as PSX and N64 emulators. I find it hard to believe that you never had any of those to play this game on. 3) RE0, REmake, RE2, RE3, RE:CV are all available for the Gamecube and are already playable on the Wii. Why re-hash these games again? I was thinking this earlier. Wii owners can't be starving that much for "adult friendly" action/adventure games to accept all of these upcoming re-makes, can they? Then I looked at the Wii upcoming games list on ign.com. And damn, I guess you are!
  2. If you don't think there's much difference between the Xbox 360 and last gen, just look at the game footage for Gears Of War 2. See how much activity is on screen? Neither the Wii or anything last gen could pull off anything like that. And every few months the gap grows wider. The sad part is, there are still Gamecube games that look better than the majority of Wii games.
  3. Lame. It doesn't even have zombies in it... Not as lame as playing a brand new ten year old game. And if you never played RE2 before, well that's really lame!
  4. Jeez Capcom do you think so little of the Wii that you can't make a brand new (non-rail shooter) RE game for it? Why are people so thrilled with aging games being re-made for their new systems? I'll be playing RE5 instead!
  5. You are correct, but I wasn't talking about the legalities, just my own personal feelings on the matter. I'm sure if you dig deep enough, 90% of the roms available have a true owner who hasn't given any kind of permission for use. But couldn't care less because legal costs are higher than the games worth to them.
  6. You already knew the answer before you asked the question.
  7. I look at emulation and roms as a double edged sword. If it wasn't for emulators and downloading roms, the retro gaming scene would just be a small percentage of what it currently is. There wouldn't be enough of a demand for things like the VC or XBLA to exist. You wouldn't have remakes on the hand helds that are coming out. And there wouldn't be a demand for new games for the old systems. Sure if game is still being sold as new, then it isn't right to illegally pass it along. But if a company doesn't do anything with a property for years, then it's fair game as far as I'm concerned. I really have no respect for someone who doesn't do anything with a property because they feel they can't make a profit on it, yet get pissed when people distribute that property for free.
  8. A laundry basket of freebies on craigslist. 3 x cd drives DVD drive 2 x 12 mb Voodoo2 cards with sli connector 2 x Western Digital 8 gb hard drives Quantum Fireball 30 gb hard dirve 2 x Haupagge pci tv cards (NTSC only ) various SCSI cables, adaptors various fans MS keyboard Not too bad. I used some of these parts to add to my Win98SE gaming pc!
  9. Because if Nintendo sells a HD version of the Wii, they can sell it to everyone all over again. Nintendo is the master of slighting upgrading hardware and repackaging it as new (GBA>GBASP>GBASP2, DS>DSLite>DSI, 'Cube>Wii>WiiHD?).
  10. Not really. PC gaming has been high def for years and MS offered the option to hook up to a pc monitor. I had my 360 hooked up half the time to my monitor until I bought my HDTV.
  11. I seem to see this a lot with SW games from 1995-2005. It seems there were a few gems (Rouge Squadron, SOTE) but most everything else ranged from mediocre to half-decent. Was Lucas really trying to trade quality for quantity in the video game arena too? I liked both Battlefront games. But other than those, I think you answered your own question.
  12. While I don't favor nuking the hell out of anybody, I do find it quite amazing how Europeans always look down upon the United States because we have so many religious fanatics. Yet they seem to ignore the fact they have a few religious fanatics of their own. Could it be because their fanatics aren't afraid of using threats or violence?
  13. Then when he is eight, he'll play Pokemon on your neglected DS.
  14. You're buying the same game for 3 systems and then wonder why it's getting boring? that's not the point, the point is the game can be bought for 3 systems, 4 if you include Game.com. Why does it need to be remade? Especially for the Wii. I would bet that most of the people that would buy Resident Evil 2 on the Wii already own another system that it could be played on. PS2/PS1. and very little Wii only players are going to buy it, but that would just be my guess. This is true. The majority of Wii owners won't buy a RE game. And the type of person who would, probably already have them on other systems. What's wrong with playing the GCN versions of games instead of re-releasing them with motion controls that really don't work with them? The entire main RE series is available on the 'Cube, the Wii doesn't need them too. Honestly, considering the symbiotic relationship between the Wii and the PS2, I'm surprised the RE FPS/Lightgun PS2 games haven't been offered on the Wii yet.
  15. That is far from true. I've downloaded well over 100 Sega CD games from various sites and FTP files. As well as hundreds of PSX, Saturn, Dreamcast, Neo Geo CD, TG16 CD, etc. Sure there are some bad ones out there, but there are plenty of good files. As far as burning cd's using iso/mp3 files. You only need Fireburner and not 3 - 4 different programs. It's cheap to buy or look for a cracked version. I can't believe I'm the first person to mention this program, it's the best for "mixed" discs! For everything else use Alcohol 120% (except for NRG files, use Nero).
