  1. Years ago I went to a Gamestop to pick up the Gamecube version of Namco Museum. The box on the shelf said "new". I figured they would have a new copy in the back or behind the register. No, the "new" disc was in an envelope in the drawer behind the register....all scratched up. They tried to tell me it was new. Nope, not new if it is opened and scratched up...sorry ;) Last time I have been in one of these stores!

Excellent deal and a great guy to work with! I thought you were super excited to add this to your collection a month or two ago, though?

I was...but when I started playing it I just realized it wasn't for me. While I had one as a kid, I really only had one game I could remember and that was "Beauty and the Beast". Many of the games on this seem to require reading of the manuals...which kind of turned me off. Afterward it just kind of sat there until today when I just decided to let it go and enjoy the 27 other consoles I have here ;)

  3. INTV System III in nearly perfect condition aside from the lower metal piece. When I received this the piece was coming up. These have been known in the past to have poor glue. So, I (as carefully as I could) pulled the piece up and reglued it down. But, as is with these thin aluminum pieces, you can never get them up without causing creases. Oh well.

Other than the creased metal strip on the bottom the machine is flawless. The pads feel like brand new and are the "good" pads with the tactile buttons. It works beautifully. If not for that metal piece this would pass for a brand new machine.

The box has the foam, master component manual and is it decent shape except the top flap was ripped. Also including Pac-Man with the machine. The game is kind of rare and an excellent port of Pac-Man (even has cut scenes!). Comes with the somewhat tattered box but no manual.

    $65 shipped takes this. Pm!

  4. The datasette also includes the manual...I just forgot to add it into the picture. Both work perfectly. The 1571 heads were cleaned (even though they were not dirty anyway!) and is in excellent working condition. It comes with all of the original documentation as well as the IEC cable and power cable.

$90 shipped for the 1571 and $40 shipped for the datasette. PM if interested!

  5. I purchased this a few months ago and probably used it 20 times or less. It is literally brand new. But, I recently upgraded to the much more expensive FXPAK Pro, so this is now up for grabs. I paid $95 and change for this shipped to me. Whomever wants it can have it for $70 plus $8.30 shipping $70 SHIPPED (via priority mail). PM if you want it!

Also, I wanted to add that this works in all USA Super Nintendo consoles (SNES, SNES Jr.) as well as all other region consoles (Super Famicom, PAL SNES, etc)

I will also trade this for a Master Everdrive if you have one you would like to spare.

  6. The very first time I ever played R-Type was actually on the Master System. I never saw it in my local arcades. Come to think of it I have never played the arcade version outside of MAME.

When I purchased it for the SMS I didn't really look into if it were a great game or not. I think that went for most SMS games I had purchased. I mean, games always came out in a trickle so I just bought any new game for the system that I encountered at the store ;) But,  I also had confidence in Sega that a game would be a good game...and mostly (at least for the SMS) that was right. Rarely did I purchase an SMS game that I did not enjoy.

I really loved R-Type for the SMS. I recall calling 800-USA-SEGA for support with Phantasy Star when I got stuck and after the rep helped me with that he asked me what other SMS games I owned. I told him I owned R-Type and he said "Hey, do you want me to send you a printout of secrets for the game?" Hell yeah I said. And, he did. It was like two pages of secrets for the game. I suspect they are all posted online now, but back in those days that was pure gold.

That said, while other versions are better (I still hold the TG16 version to be the best/closest to the arcade) I will never forget the fun I had with the SMS version and the great customer experience with the Sega folks. The SMS port may not be the best of the best, but it certainly holds up and is a great port to an 8-bit console.

  7. I had more of these types of devices in the 90's than I can count. Super Magic Drives, Super UFOs, etc. They were cool and still are from a historical point of view. But, other than that, modern devices such as Everdrives have made them pretty much worthless. Nobody is going to go to these floppy disk relics to play roms and homebrew. We all want to live in the past in some sense...but not that one ;)

  8. I wanted to add that I will also be willing to trade this for a pristine (not broken, or scratched) 3D Glasses set for the Sega Master System. It would be great if it included the box, but not necessary. As long as the glasses themselves are in excellent condition, work, and include the card slot glasses adapter. I know those can be had for $50-$80 if I hunt around, but if someone has them and wants to make a trade it would be easier on me.

  9. This is quite a rare one. One of my "holy grails" is up for grabs. I was considering ebay as I know they go for a fortune, but I am not trying to make a fortune.....just enough to pay this month's internet bill (or buy something else and forego the bill...lol!)  :)

This DS was released right after the first one, around 2005. It was released to celebrate the new (at that time) Mario Kart DS. The handheld is in Mario Kart red. This console has NO dead pixels and you would be hard pressed to find a scratch anywhere. The body is flawless, and the screens are in excellent condition. There may be the slightest signs of use on the bottom screen, but if anything is there is is very minuscule. I did install the flashme firmware when I first got it as that firmware not only provides brick protection but it disabled the annoying health and safety screen, but I can uninstall that and bring it back to factory before shipping it to you if you wish.

The battery charges and holds a charge perfectly fine. This has had very little play time. It actually does not look like it has been played with at all. Even the little plastic covering the Nintendo logo on the top is still there.

It is near complete, with one thing missing. The original set came with stickers that you were supposed to (not recommended, but kids did it anyway!) apply to the console. Racing type stickers that were Mario themed. That sticker sheet is not here so I am not sure what happened to it. But, everything else is here. The box (which is in decent shape although the back seems a tad sun faded to me), manuals/documentation, original pack in game, lanyard, charger, and special Mario Kart racing custom wrist strap.

If you want to experience (or re-experience) what it was like to own one of these brand new this may be your only chance. I have never found another in this condition. You will not be disappointed! I apologize for the flashy pictures. My camera overflashed on some of these...rest assured the color is red on this handheld ;)

I am looking for $150 OBO for this. That includes the shipping to you, anywhere in the USA via priority mail. If you have a Gamecube with Gameboy player (and the required disc!) I would be willing to trade this for it as well.

    PM!

  10. Large lot of mostly boxed Intellivision games. As far as I am aware all of the boxed games are complete with manuals and overlays where applicable, but don't quote me on that. I'm just too busy at the moment to inspect each box, but I am fairly certain they are. What I know for sure is that all games work (I went through and cleaned/tested each game earlier this year) and all games have their labels. The boxes are mostly in rough shape, but they are there.

A great starter collection for someone or trade-bait (or resell).

$100 takes the lot. This includes shipping anywhere in the USA (this will be a heavy box!). Shipping via UPS ground.

  11. This was obtained years ago from the now defunct Atari Jaguar Sector II website. Kind of rare...I have never found another one personally. Does not feel like a beta to me, but does feel like it plays better than the official release (imho). And, has a pretty strange character select screen!

$60 shipped takes it (shipped via priority mail)

When you had the 32X open, did you reseat the ribbon cables?

This. I still to this day have never received or owned a defective 32X (and I have owned MANY) but I did have quite a few that displayed a black screen until it were opened, ribbon cables properly cleaned and plugged back it. The 32X is actually a pretty solid system except for the ribbon cable "creep" that happens over time.

  13. I had a Genesis like this not too long ago. Baffling how just the one spot becomes corroded and bent like this.

I think though that it might still be repairable. Did you try a jewelers screwdriver to really get in there and bend those pins out and back into shape? I would try that, and if successful then scrub them with a toothbrush and some isoprop really really well. While it looks bad from the pictures I can totally see fixing this with relative ease without replacing the entire connector.

  14. As a previous owner of the clone version of the GDEMU I will say that it really is a great device. A clone, yes, but a darn good one. The quality of the PCB is really excellent and it worked perfectly fine across the entire USA collection as far as I could tell. One word of warning however is to NEVER update it. Do not use the official GDEMU firmware update as it intentionally bricks the clone boards. It does not require any update anyway....as it is very very compatible as is.

  15. Has anyone played R-Type? Well, I'd be surprised to find someone who had not ;)

I have played many versions of the game on various platforms over the years. I think the first version I ever played was on the SMS. But I have to say still to this day that the TG16 version is probably the best arcade to home version of this title (in my book). I did love the Amiga version as well, but the TG16 version is just more fluid to me. The ZX Spectrum version was of course limited in terms of color/graphics/sound but I still thought that was a pretty good attempt. Come to think of it, the C64 version was pretty great as well.

If you have not played Super R-Type and R-Type III on the SNES you should. They are amazing and add to the great R-Type legacy and experience.
