  1. Unless you're still writing it now, I didn't receive a PM from you. I am interested. Let me know what cart(s) you want for Mario Bros., and what else you might be able to get. Thanks AM
  2. I'm suprised so many people hate Dragster! That's always been one of my favorites. Here are my votes for the biggest Activision Clunkers: 1. Bridge 2. Plaque Attack 3. Stampede 4. Double Dragon 5. Crackpots I agree that Laser Blast is very repetetive, but I liked it when I was a kid. I remember being able to blast through screens with my eyes closed! AM
  3. I just posted my trade & want lists on my website at http://www.stevesfiles.com/trades.htm. I've got about 100 games available for trade, mostly for the 2600, but some 5200/7800 too. Most of the games are Rarity 3 or below. Thanks for looking. AM
  4. Yeah, I guess I'll have to buy another switch box to test this problem. Before I do that, I'll take your advice and inspect the MOBO for any obvious problems. I didn't receive a PSU with the 4-port, I just assumed they were the same. If the 2 port is 9v and the 4 port is 11.5v, maybe the fact that it's getting 2.5 less volts is the problem? Then again, according to Mitch they're interchangable. If you have time to test it on your systems, let me know what happens. Thanks for the replies. AM
  5. I've got an extra loose copy of Miner 2049er. It works and the label is in excellent condition. It's a Rarity 5 game, and I'd love to trade it to someone for one of the other Rarity 5 games that I'm missing. Does anyone have an extra loose copy of the following games they might be willing to trade for Miner 2049er? Star Strike (This would complete my collection of M-Network titles!) Sentinel (I've got the box but no game) Submarine Commander (The last sears exclusive that I need!) Roc'n'Rope Jawbreaker Earth Dies Screaming Crash Dive Bank Heist China Syndrome Off the Wall Tanks but no tanks Thanks AM
  6. Yeah, there sure are some differing opinions on this thread! That's the basic problem here..... Opinions are like A**holes, everybody has one, and they all stink! I never liked Chopper Command, but I know it was popular and lots of people did like it. In my opinion, the truly bad games were Slot Machine (was that really a "game"?), Karate, mythicon games, and all the Atari "edutainment" games, like basic math, concentration, math grand prix, & hangman. AM
  7. Ok, I'm going to put on my flame retardant suit for this one. I can't stand Chopper Command. I totally sucked at it back in the day, and I still suck at it now. It looks nice, but is no fun for me to play. And of course, any game that I suck at MUST be bad, right? AM
  8. I received a 4 port 5200 a few months ago in a large game lot that doesn't seem to work. The LED light doesn't come on when you hit the power switch, and I don't get a picture on the screen. I know the power supply is OK, because it's the same one I use with my working 2-port 5200. I don't know where to begin to troubleshoot this one. Could it be the Atari Switch box that's bad? I only have one, so I can't test with a different one. Does anyone have any suggestions, or should I just use this thing as a boat anchor? AM
  9. Well, if you go by AtariAge's Rarity 1 list, these are the most common games: 1. Asteroids 2. Berzerk 3. Casino 4. Combat 5. Defender 6. Donkey kong 7. E.T. 8. Football 9. Missle Command 10. Night driver 11. Pac-man 12. Space Invaders 13. Star Raiders 14. Video Pinball 15. Warlords Based on my collection of duplicate cartridges, I'd say it's pretty accurate!
  10. The "racing" paddles offer full 360 degree motion, you can spin them in either direction forever. The standard paddles stop at a certain point when you spin them. AM
  11. I sent you a PM, but left out a few things. I have the following 7800 carts available for trade: F18 Hornet., loose Tower Toppler, Boxed with Instr. Desert Falcon, Boxed with instr. Asteroids, loose Hat Trick, Boxed, no instr. Choplifter, loose I have several other extra "common" 7800 games that are sealed. I'll have to check when I get home, but I think I also have sealed copies of Xevious and Hat Trick. PM me again if you're interested in any of them.
  12. My Favorites: Yars Revenge Adventure Frankenstein's Monster Pitfall II Turmoil Dragster River Raid Montezuma's Revenge Raiders of the Lost Ark H.E.R.O. Video Pinball
  13. Ok, I'll take a stab at it. Are you giving away "Adventure"?
  14. Wow, this is hard! I think I've figured out all of the images, but I have no idea what game you're giving away. I'm still working on that.... This is what I came up with:
  15. I popped open my 5200 this weekend, and luckily it was just a simple phono plug input on the main board. Replacing the broken cable with a new one was a breeze! Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. AM
  16. I finally completed my collection of every 2600 console released when I received my heavy sixer this weekend from an ebay auction (only $15 BIN!). I hooked it up, and I was suprised that the picture quality was WAY better than the 4-switch woody or the 2600 jr. that I use regularly (I hook up all my consoles with the direct connect phono plug to Coax adapter). Is this just me, or does anyone else notice a big difference in picture quality when using the 6er? Maybe all that extra RF shielding really does make that much of a difference? The 6er works great, except the game select switch doesn't spring back up, it stays down when you push it down. It seems to work okay by pushing it manually up and down though. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with that. AM
  17. Thanks, everyone, for all the offers. The game is no longer available. I've made a trade for (NTSC) Boing.
  18. Thanks. I'll open up my 5200 sometime this weekend, hopefully it will have the phono plug on the inside too. AM
  19. Wow, now I feel famous...I'm published on AtariAge! That silly little hack of Z-Tack was created by me. Thanks Albert!
  20. Boy, Inky, you're really outselling me here! I don't have anything extra with mine.
  21. Believe it or not, I've never opened up any of my Atari hardware (with the exception of joysticks), everything has always worked fine, and I've never had a reason to. If it's just a simple plug inside the 5200, then I guess fixing this problem will be easier than I thought!
  22. My four year old son knocked over the small TV in my game room, and it landed squarely on the Coax Input/RF Cable, which hopelessly smashed and broke the RF connector on the end of the cable coming from my 5200. Of course, the cable isn't easily replaceable since it doesn't unplug from the 5200 side (I've got the 2 Port version). Does anyone have any suggestions on replacing the cable or maybe just the RF plug on the end? Which would be easier, and how would I go about doing it? Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. AM
  23. I also have one in it's original box that I don't really want. I don't know if it works, I received it in a large lot of computer stuff a while back. If you're interested PM me.
  24. I didn't mean to offend you or any other of my friendly neighbors to the north, I just don't collect them. Plus, there awfully hard to find south of the border!
  25. chromizone, I appreciate the offer, but I already have wallball, and I'm really not interested in Zellers games. AM
