  1. I'm not currently working on it, no. Pac-man-red's graphics sure make me want to start on it again, though! Thanks for sharing them Pac-man-red, they're great. I'm taking a break from coding for a while. I'll probably get back to this (or something else) early next year, I don't have anything specific planned right now.
  2. He'll likely get back to you eventually, or I'd just try again. He's a busy guy. He doesn't sell 7800's pre-modded, you need to have one already that you ship to him to be modded. Including shipping both ways and what he charges to do the mod, it's around $100 (give or take a little) to have it done.

Holy Crap! That's amazing work Mike!
  4. I created a speech test utility during the development of Dungeon Stalker that allows you to choose from up to 48 speech phrases on the screen at once. It's an expansion of RevEng's speech demo that's included in the 7800basic distribution. I thought it was more convenient to have more phrases to test on-screen at the same time so I wouldn't have to swap the MMC out of the CuttleCart 2 so often when I was testing speech. Note that the phrases in this program are almost entirely from Dungeon Stalker. Feel free to re-use the words or phrases, but I'd appreciate it if you'd change up the speed & pitch to make the phrases your own if you decide to use any of them. The code is well commented and fairly self explanatory on what you'd need to do to customize it for your own use. Enjoy! avox_speech_test.zip
  5. RevEng and I both reviewed the source code again and many comments were added or tweaked. It's definitely the most well documented code I've ever written! Included in the zip file are some extras as well. The zip file includes: The final version of the source code, as well as the a78, bin, and asm files. A gfx folder that contains all of the sprites used for compiling the game, as well as the tmx file used by the tiled application for creating the dungeon maze. The final version of the instruction manual that I created, which is not the same as the manual that's being released with the game in the AA store. The released instruction manual was designed by David Exton. Two additional graphic images that detail the color choices made in the code as well as the spawn locations for all the objects. Images of Dungeon Stalker while Al was prepping for PRGE, as well as some images taken during the show. [Edit: I updated the file on 10/22/15 with a newer version of the instruction manual, the version in the zip didn't include David Exton in the credits] Dungeon_Stalker_Final.zip
  6. Another plug for Joe. He just modified my console and I'm incredibly happy with the results. He's the gold standard. If you want your console modded, he's your man!
  7. As promised, I'm working on cleaning up the final version of the source code and all the graphics files and I'll be releasing them later this week.
  8. Thanks to everyone who attended the PRGE show! I wasn't able to attend, but for those interested there are some pics here. I'm attaching one of the pics that shows Dungeon Stalker at the AA booth. Thanks for sharing the thread with me, Marco!
  9. Here's a few hacks that add some of what you asked for. The version with no timer works, but the game still ends when someone gets to 99. Changing the score to three digits rather than two is a little more challenging than I want to take on for this game. Same for double shots. asb_fastshot.bin asb_fastshot_fastenemy.bin asb_notimer.bin
  10. Welcome to AA! Dennis Debro made a detailed disassembly of Air Sea Battle back in 2004, so most of what you'd like to see changed could probably be done fairly easily. I'll take a look in the next week or so if I find the time.
  11. I was just messing around today and made a few changes to Berzerk. Your player moves much faster and the robots start off moving and firing faster. It's a fun hack if you like to go fast. BerzerkTurbo.bin
  12. I couldn't get LeSiti to run with my Cuttle cart, but Fuzzipede is great! I'm including a short gameplay video. Nicely done. https://youtu.be/Z3bpmywELj8
  13. I thought I'd share mine to add to the list. I don't have the box, but the plastic protective cover is still on the metal strip on top.
  14. Doh! Sorry about that. I corrected it and updated this thread and the first post in original Dungeon Stalker thread with the spelling correction. I really need to make sure that David Exton has the correct spelling for the printed version of the manual. Edit: I also noticed that I'd already posted v245 earlier this month on this thread. Oh well. I'm done posting on this thread now, really.
  15. Thanks for the compliments! The final version is complete and will be available at the Portland show, then at the AA store thereafter. You can check out the development thread here. I'm also attaching the final version (v245) to this post. DungeonStalker_v1.245.a78 DungeonStalker_v1.245.bin DungeonStalkerManual_1.245d.pdf
  16. I'd be up for a "beat the programmer" challenge with Dungeon Stalker. I think RevEng & Trebor may be better than me, but I'm pretty good at the game. I usually play on expert mode for quick games and it's brutal...
  17. I've also always pronounced it like "Zawnox".
  18. Ha! I had to wait for it, but actually laughed out loud when I saw the end of the animation.
  19. It's a very simplistic game that I wrote when I was first learning about 7800basic. There's no special screen for a touchdown or anything else. Enhancements could certainly be made, but I wasn't really planning on revisiting this game for any major changes. I'd be happy to make some minor modifications if you want to use it for your project, or help you out with modifying it yourself.
  20. My apologies to Trebor, I spelled his name incorrectly in my latest version of the instruction manual in the credits section. This version corrects that. DungeonStalkerManual_1.245b.pdf
  21. +1 on Marauder, I always liked that one. As was mentioned, it's a little too easy unless you play the harder variations. I made a hack of Marauder back in 2004 that made the mazes a little more complex and updated the sprites.
  22. The final version of Dungeon Stalker is complete and will be released on cartridge at the Portland Game Fest on October 17th, 2015. The artwork for the label was designed by David Exton, and there will be a box and manual released as well that also includes David's artwork. Thanks to everyone for your support, it was great to see so many people enjoying the game at the Classic Game fest in Austin in all the pictures I saw.
