  1. That's a lot of stuff! Why havent you picked up a lightgun? They are pretty easy to get. Wasn't the 32 in One just a relabeled 2600 game?

    7800 D-Pads

The gopher's annoy me. I hate that doot doot doot sound when you get stuck between a Ninja and a gopher throwing rocks at you. EDIT: Laffo, I spelled gopher as golfer. Fixed : )
  3. What, that's it? Kidding. Send me your Copies of Klax and Possible Mission please : )

    7800 D-Pads

Ninja Golf is a great game, and -that- is the one I wanted to purchase a D-Pad for. I have trouble making quick jumps and ducks with the proline on the golf course fighting sequences. I dont normally get beyond the 8th hole because my son grows tired of it by then and we stop playing : (
  5. We played this one extensively when it came out and could actually beat the game consistently. I have a new in box version that I have not opened -yet- but really love the game. When you get good at it there are some areas where you have to catch a balloon to move up higher in the caves. When I first saw that long ago, I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
  6. Of all the 2600 Games I have played I had the hardest time scoring anything on SEGA's Sub Scan (So I sold it -grin-). Some friends of mine had MASH (The game made after the TV Show) that I never got the hang of either.
  7. Mine has sound! : ) (And a box and manual) I love the Ski Jump, my son (who is 3) asks me "What is that guy doing". I've still not perfected my landings, but it is fun none the less.
  8. I had not even considered these two points. Well said, especially so for the resell market. They hate those guys.
  9. That is what confuses me most. The people profiting off the pirated games always find a way around the copy protection. The legitimate purchasers get burned and then sometimes look to getting the pirated versions just so they do not have to deal with the DRM, or they simply give up and stop purchasing.
  10. Actually Piracy is a big problem. Outside of major markets there is tons of it. You do have a good point about being leery of purchasing a game that stops working because of DRM, but this is the first time I have heard of this sort of issue and that it is so widespread. Granted you can change your PC clock to fix it (annoying). It would be interesting to see if this digital certificate expiration happens again, and if anything good comes out of it.
  11. A 3 way tie?! Now I am getting nervous, who knows who will win out!
  12. I dunno. The game looks interesting enough, but it is one that I do not own. I wonder if it is possible to get one of the atari touch tablets hooked up to the 7800 to use as a controller for this game.

    7800 D-Pads

Yup, best electronics is your treasure trove of goodies. Thus far I have picked up a lightgun from them and their catalog (a must have). True that website is a mess, I think it is on purpose though as their catalog is so nice. Also, if there is something you can not locate on their site, just call they know all the stuff by heart and can take your order over the phone. I will get some D-Pads from them eventually : )
  14. I envy the CC2 and DPads. I do plan on getting the D-Pads at some point, if not for being more comfortable they also 'fire' better than the prolines.
  15. I always thought this game would benefit from two player control. Controller 1 could be the boat driver, and a second person on Controller 2 could operate the water skier. That is an option in the game. Not very useful for a high score contest though. Mitch Hmmm.... Now to find someone to drive or Ski! My Son is 3 I will let him drive the boat. I never knew that option was there, or maybe I wrote this and later in life discovered time travel, visited Froggo, made them put the option in and the rest is history.

  17. I've not played de Luxe but did look at the write up. When I saw that the "asteroids were faster" I thought to myself, now there is a change that I would not be able to handle. They are fast enough already. I've been going back and forth between styles of play and still have yet to find a sure fire niche. I try to never use the warp and never fire at any medium to large rocks that are an inch or less from me (unless they are moving away from my ship). Nice score by the way : )
  18. I have the 2600 version of RSBB, I do not think it is quite compatible with the 7800 though as I have never once been able to hit the ball.
  19. I was never a big fan of Space Invaders (Is there a 7800 version??) but do have Crossbow. I've played it a couple times with and without the lightgun. Lightgun has an advantage I think.
  20. I can't believe you have Water Ski on there. While I do have the cart and do enjoy the game, it is by far the most difficult game I have (Next to Dig Dug, I am so horrible at that game). I voted for Beef Drop, I don't have the cart but could play it on the computer, Burger Time is a super fun game. As always, any game that wins out will be fine with me I love the challenge and the fun of playing these games.
  21. I really like Pac-Man collection. When I picked up a 7800 a few months ago the first thing I did was search for games for sale. One of the search results led me to AtariAge. I was looking through the 7800 game database on the site and noticed the (H)omebrew classification for games. So I jumped on the forum and asked if anyone had a Pac-Man collection for sale as the AtariAge store was closed (at the time). Someone sent me a link to the hidden store and sure enough Albert let me buy one from there. Pac-Man collection is a really neat title and much appreciated as the 2600 cart is so horrible : ) I'd also like to get Beef Drop VE, to me Burger Time is a great representation of a classic video game. You have an ordinary task of making something (and doing it quickly!) with a funny theme. Sort of like tapper in a way (one of my favorite coin-op games).
  22. Neat story : ) Galaga is a fantastic game. I never really liked the color scheme on this one and it reminded me of a side scrolling super breakout.
  23. Fancy! Those three are on my wish list : ) As for the hardware, I think it matters if you have multiple systems. I recall someone a month or so ago posting (and showing pictures) that they managed to get a hold of a 7800 Dev Unit. It was pretty neat stuff.
  24. So I have been trying to piece back together my childhood 7800 collection (with some 2600's thrown in) and am pretty happy with it so far. Obviously there are still games on my want list, but here is what I have thus far. 7800 :: Hardware Console (No Box or Manual) Prolines (2) (No Box, but both work!) Paddles (I think they are for the 2600, but they came with this system) Hookups (Original switch box, works but I do not use it, went with a COAX to RCA adapter and run a COAX to the TV from the 7800) Power Supply (Original, no box) 7800 :: Games Xenophobe, Ms. Pac-Man, Desert Falcon (NIB Unopened) Tower Toppler (NIB Opened) Dark Chambers, Hat Trick, Choplifter, Ninja Golf, Xevious, Joust, Donkey Kong, Crossbow, Jinks, Scrapyard Dog, Dig Dug, Winter Games, Midnight Mutants (CIB) Pole Position II, Water Ski, Karateka, F-18 Hornet, PAC-MAN Collection (My only homebrew), Centipede, Galaga, Robotron, Food Fight (Loose w/manual) Pole Position II (Loose no Manual - Yes I have a second one) Choplifter (Loose no Manual, no Label beat up a bit but still works) 2600 :: Games Pitfall II, Moon Patrol (NIB Unopened) Super Breakout, Defender, Star Raiders (CIB) Real Sports Baseball, Pac-Man, Frogger (Loose w/manual) I also have a couple of the comics, posters and stickers that were included with some of the games. So that's it so far. I love all the games that I own (Sold a few 2600 and 7800 games in the past that are not listed here) and am pretty happy with where the collection is at. It is not the most awesome collection in the world, but it is mine and makes me smile. For the 7800 I am most pleased with -having- Pac-Man Collection, Xenophobe, Midnight Mutants and Dark Chambers. Not super rare or hard to find but still favorites as far as being in the collection. (I am also super happy about Pitfall II and Moon Patrol!!) As an aside, I think it would be entertaining to see who has the most copies of Pole Position II. I used to have 3, but sold the CIB one I had as part of a package deal for someone. I also saw a 'lot' of games for sale on eBay once with 5 loose copies of Pole Position II and a loose Rampage. Thought it was pretty funny (and clever).
