  1. Beware of "Jaws" on the octopus screen, as he will 'eat' Neptina right off of the bow on a pass by....then its game over since I haven't found a way to get her back Also, the Pelican can steal your compass making you have to go back and get it===frustrating! I haven't lost the Trident yet..so far.
  2. Good job jblenkle, solving L3 I'm still dying out there without the aid of a directional finder..... 2,928
  3. I've been trying to find the compass in level 3. You can fly higher, dive deeper, and get lost in the seaweed maze until you run out of energy, but there's no points until you find the Compass! 2,849
  4. Nice lesser known game from Imagic, somewhat similar to Wing War. Once you get the general idea down as to the game-play, the only thing otherwise "unfathomable" is the steep grade of difficulty beginning in level 3. Oh..and..will somebody get me a spear-gun for that pesky octopus!!? ,..the trident doesn't seem to do a whole lot 1,688
  5. Awesome score peedenmark It must have taken you awhile! The animations which occur every so many rounds add a fun & unique element to the game : 24,562
  6. When I turned off my targeting computer, the Force was with me... 598,979 (crappy stalled browser double post..)
  7. When I turned off my targeting computer, the Force was with me... 598,979
  8. Count me in for the OE tourney My 'stock stick' pics are Buck Rogers (auto-fire!), and Mountain King.
  9. Having a blast at Wizard of Wor! This is in my top 10 list for sure 39,600
  10. Zylon, You're right about the Elf being a tricky character. I had a great game going, made it to level 20 and racked up 95K!....but then when I got ambushed by a hundred monsters..it crashed leaving me no picture to post This could be a bug. The Elf is my favorite fighter, with quick agility and one shot kills, but he is a risky bet. The Warrior seems more clumsy and usually takes two shots to kill. I haven't tried the Wizard yet. Exploring the ins and outs of this 64k cart is extremely fun, warts 'n all. It's not perfect, but seems to be about 95% or more. I vote for keeping this exhibition open for a little while longer, or just pinning a "test thread" for Gauntlet. When Tempest finally reaches the store, alot more of us will have it, and that should warrant a test thread as well. That title should drum up quite a bit of interest since Atarians have been waiting for oh....about 28 years for its arrival!
  11. Happy New Year everyone ! I've finally got a chance to have a little fun with Gauntlet. I'm the proud owner of cartridge #44 (of 50), and must say this is one Grand effort by ziggystar . Now that I've figured out how to beat 'death' and get past level 4, it's really starting to get interesting. I don't remember (NES ver.) level 5 being a time-limited treasure room with special music, but alas it is a nice surprise here. Since I haven't yet ripped my way to level 30+, there is definitely a lot of game-play left for me. How many levels are there...? So far, I have managed to hack my way to level 7 with the Valkyrie. While in the heat of battle, she seems to have a distress cry which is discernibly female in tone! Another nice touch...: 31,060
  12. This game is a nice change of pace for the HSC. There is a bit of a learning curve, as I've discovered with repeated plays (getting killed fast!). The biggest trick seems to be mastering the control of your ship, for the sake of aiming shots when attacked or taking out a satellite, whilst not hitting the ubiquitous asteroids! Scoring aside from bonuses is also very meager, further adding to the challenge. Any score approaching 15K will indeed be hard-earned My tally after about 30+ attempts: 10,974
  13. After the Trick or Treating is over, it's time for some Ghost Manor! Anyone game?

  14. I believe this game is synonymous with ass-whooping! I just got mine handed to me: 8,150
  15. No A-t-J, it's worse than Crack; there is no methadone to curb the need. Once hooked, you'll be looking for money in places you've never dreamed of just to secure that next ltd ed homebrew. It's only one more cart..its such a good deal..just one more..then I'll stop for awhile.....BUT ITS OK! We're here for you to lean on
  16. Indeed! It's the history and the surprise of discovering things unknown, thought to be lost, or rumored to exist, that make collecting Atari and this hobby in general, so doggone fun!! PS: Just wait until someone locates the original Dale Evans story cassette and Red Sea coloring book.. ... @ Atari4You: Excellent original package design  That cart will feel a little naked without all that cool stuff to go along with it. I would definitely spring for the package deal
  17. Still cant make it past the second dice round Congrads to Cafeman! : 70,940
  18. Had a few rounds with this one. Some really dodgy attack patterns I've yet to get a handle on (like everything from the 2nd 'ice cream sandwich'? wave forward) : 67,390
  19. @AIR-RAID: godspeed to you and your family, and may this auction well exceed your wildest dreams
  20. Just scored the invisible platform bonus I haven't quite sussed out a strategy for scenes 15+. Those icicles are really cramping my style! 125,530
