Well, I may have cracked the Dragon's Code, Steep learning curve, notwithstanding. Once I accumulated 25 Super Crystals, including at least 5 Diamonds, 99 fireballs, and 99 life points, my Dragon was(is) virtually invincible
. I might very well topple Twin Galaxy's HSC, but that would take awhile. Here's my status after cashing in my latest Diamond Crystal:
127,850; 40 super crystals; 3 eggs(xtra lives)

Just got the cart in the mail today! This game is nearly unplayable in emulation w/keyboard.
It takes a while to learn your way around the realm initially. Once I learned how to make my way back to the den, it was time to collect the crystals...which is easier said than done! You must collect an air crystal 2nd, in between retrieval of both fire and water crystals. This is very difficult since air crystals disintegrate when they hit the ground. Flying without hitting anything is a real trick. So far I've only did this once and that's because a bat was in the den! This is a pretty original title, but will require a lot of practice to play well. I was glad to at least assemble a first super crystal:

First off, I'm the proud owner(saviour) of a decades forgotten 800XL, found in a barn under a pile of ANTIC magazines, which were under about 2 inches of dust, hay and cobwebs. Other goodies in the cache were a 1050 drive, a 410 tape drive, orig. "ingot" power supply, asst. cables, joysticks, a Wizard of Wor cart, and some Dynacomp literature.
The odyssey I undertook to bring these Atari artifacts back to life would not have been possible without the information provided by the dedicated people in this community. It's hard to describe the feeling when that Wiz-Of-Wor game powered up on the TV screen!
As a long-time devotee to the Atari 5200, it seems only logical that the XL is the place to go if you want to play all the other countless 8-bit games which will likely never make it to the console.
I've never been a fan of those 'break-out' style games, but I find Arkanoid to be suprisingly fun and addictive! It appears I'm just in time to join in the new HS season, and judging by the competition, I better hone my chops
