This version seems a slight bit harder than both the 800 and the Arcade, right from the start. My only pattern at this point is survival: 25,890

First off, I'm the proud owner(saviour) of a decades forgotten 800XL, found in a barn under a pile of ANTIC magazines, which were under about 2 inches of dust, hay and cobwebs. Other goodies in the cache were a 1050 drive, a 410 tape drive, orig. "ingot" power supply, asst. cables, joysticks, a Wizard of Wor cart, and some Dynacomp literature. The odyssey I undertook to bring these Atari artifacts back to life would not have been possible without the information provided by the dedicated people in this community. It's hard to describe the feeling when that Wiz-Of-Wor game powered up on the TV screen! As a long-time devotee to the Atari 5200, it seems only logical that the XL is the place to go if you want to play all the other countless 8-bit games which will likely never make it to the console. I've never been a fan of those 'break-out' style games, but I find Arkanoid to be suprisingly fun and addictive! It appears I'm just in time to join in the new HS season, and judging by the competition, I better hone my chops : 70,530

Stage 5 is pretty tough with a keyboard. The curvature of the track really adds a challenge as it forces you into a seal or crevass almost the whole time. A joystick is badly needed for the tricky timing. The cart is due in the mail soon, for next time: 32,110 -

I know we're playing for fun, i don't want to cause any problems but i seen in your screen shot it looks like you played on slow speed. I played on fast speed. I think the default speed for this contest is fast. Please correct me if i'm wrong. OOPS! No, you were right, it was on slow. Apparently my daughter was playing a game(one of her favorite carts) before me and I didn't reset it to default. We'll keep it on an even keel for the HSC.

Analog is working a little better for me. It slows Bentley down a bit making him easier to control. 197,746 -

I discovered this game in a little arcade called "Shazamm" at the mall in Jupiter, FL back around 1983. I was in 3rd grade at the time and this machine managed to devour quite a bit of lunch money. I've been a pretty big fan ever since. The only console version I've ever played is the CV one which is a top notch piece of programming IMO. I consider myself lucky to have the original cart, as it's nearly impossible to find. A sealed Intellivision version recently sold for $307.99 on ebay! We're any of you fans the lucky winner? These other versions mentioned might be fun to eventually track down and compare, but having the original Arcade machine in the den is where it's at... And it looks like SoCal Mike beat me to it!! A token from that long-gone arcade still survives in my collection, pictured next to another prized possession: ;

Wow roadrunner, you really rock at this game! I'm lucky to get half that score at this point: 146,907 -
Pretty unique little game. Not as much in common with frogger as I initially thought. The difficulty ratchets up pretty fast in this one. I love the flat pancake/steamroller effect when you get run over in the street. That seems a bit original. Not much time to chase golf balls lately: 7,280

The Klingons seem to have a further range than the Enterprise. They can get cheap shot in before they are visible on the targeting computer. Once I figure out how to get a step ahead I'll last longer, but movement is slow and the Warp drive burns up fast. Still, the challenge of trying to out-manoeuver those @#$*! Klingons makes it fun and keeps it interesting. Best so far: 260,900
