Gallstones form and can cause pain and symptoms similar to heart attack. I have an aortic dissection and a mechanical valve, so they didn't want me having those symptoms and dismissing them. It just stores bile, so you can be fine without it.

Fills up with stones from greasy food and bile, that's one reason. So much for future nutrition!
