Wow!!. Thanks for the offer. But as I live in New Zealand [the edge of the world stuff] I'm guessing the postage cost is going to be a killer considering just shipping a 810 disk drive over alone is $50 approx. That's the price for living so far away but it's a price a tad too high just at the present time.

you mean like this one? Yeah ...but he doesn't ship International.....sigh!!!

Indeed. Always nice to have a boxed computer .... especially when they are older types as the resale value is usually a bit more if you have the original packaging/manuals etc. Personally I think the 800XL is/was the nicest of all the units. Had one for years until the RAM died and I threw it in the dumpster. Silly, silly me...... Now an original boxed & complete 1200XL for sale .... that would get me really, really interested.

Have emulators & still went and bought an Atari so I could play it with the origial CX40 joysticks. It's the whole nostalgia thing. Something about using old hardware.... Same for Arcades. I have MAME and love it but I am building 2 arcade machines from scratch at present which use proper arcade PCB's etc as the arcade machines have a more personal & realistic feel about it when using them. Especially multiplayer ... Gauntlet 4 player around a cabinet just rocks

I bought a 130XE the other day after being out of the Atari world for a few years just so I could play ... Jet Boot Jack Dropzone Pitfall 2 .... loved the music on the A8 version Rescue on Fractalas Salmon Run Much, much better playing on the real machine compared to emulators so I'm back in the Atari fold yet again.

Hey there, I recently purchased a 130XE which came with a XC12 Tape deck and can confirm that my XC12 unit also gives off noise interference and can have issues loading tapes as a result. This never ever occurred with the 1010 Tape deck I owned until the buttons broke and I dumped it. Silly me. In testing I have found that if I press play on the tape deck before powering on the 130XE the noise issue is far more common than if I press play after powering up. Dont know if thats the case for you or whether I've not used it enough yet to disprove that theory but I am getting a 1050 & 810 disk drive unit soon so tapes will be a thing of the past anyway. If I were you I'd probably just get a 1010.
