Hi, I found this picture, I wonder if it exists somewhere for the 800 xl ? 😍 Thanks.

Oops, of course, you're right

Hi, I was watching some old episodes of "Magnum PI" (i know i know, i'm not very proud of it 😂) and it seem there is an Atari 400 in one episode (Season 4 (1983–84), episode 3, "Smaller Than Life", ~00:26). The keybord is strange but it definitely belongs to an Atari 400/800. https://youtu.be/bzDblp4gvCc Best regards, Marsup.

Replacement of a XEGS Power on/off Switch ?
Marsupilami replied to Marsupilami's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Not yet, living in europe the shipping cost will probably be high for a 2$ switch. -
The on/off switch on one of my XEGS is dead. A previous owner fixed this by soldering it so that it was always ON as soon as the XEGS is plugged. But that's ugly and this needs to be fixed. Conrad has a lot of this kind of switches but not the same. I don't want to spend money for something that won't fit Any idea ? Thanks.

Ok Thanks, to both of you, Phaeron (i trully always enjoy your detailed explanations because i learn things) and luckybucky. -
DrVenkman was right ! Thanks ! It seems to be a problem with some files related to my Nvidia driver and ATRtool 27e. But the 27f version fixed the problem, well done ! Thanks for this great tool !

Hi, i still have no luck to run this program but this time with win10x64. Again, I have the process in my task manager but no window. Maybe because i'm dual screen ? On a mono-screen it seems to run. I tried with compatibility and with admin mode, no luck.

Help: Dumping Cartridges for dummies
Marsupilami replied to Marsupilami's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks @santop. That's the "error" message it should gives (the one with the real cartridge on a real 800xl). But it's not the message i have in Altirra so i guess Altirra (windows version) is a bit sensitive with the .ROM file. At least your test shows that my dump is good -
Here's the final result, with some painting and 4 screws, it should be OK @Stephen, adding holes in it for the leds should be easy (good idea). See attached file for the 3D model. 3D Sio2SD 1050 case.zip

Help: Dumping Cartridges for dummies
Marsupilami replied to Marsupilami's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Oops, i don't know what happened with my file, anyway, here it is a a link : http://minu.me/fofg With a DOS disk in Altirra, it's better indeed, it gives the floppy directory. But the original cartridge in a real 800XL is throwing an error instead of this garbled chars. Atari Schreiber - CART - RXG 8036 - Copie.zip -
Help: Dumping Cartridges for dummies
Marsupilami replied to Marsupilami's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi, I have some troubles with the german version of "Atari Writer" cart i've dumped. It looked fine until i did more tests with it : Everything is fine until i use the "Inhaltsverzeichnis" Menu in Altirra (Table of Contents). So : Is it a problem with my method ? With my file ? A kind of copy protection ? I'll appreciate your help. File is attached. Thanks -
Hi Id' like to order an assembled one (shipping to France). Thanks.
-
Hi, If you have a usb phone charger...Try something like this.
-
Thanks. Yes I thought about it but for only 3 led, the cost is too high. You need these things and these pipes and they are not sold by unit (+shipping..). I'll post the final result here with the 3D file (3mf) if someone is interested so, tell me. I'd be happy to share it anyway.

Hi @all, it's still a work in progress so it's not perfect but just for the fun

Hi, I tried to retr0bright a 1040 STF. The concern is that with retr0bright, I read a lot of articles that talked about "blooming" effect, especially about STs. Many articles also talk about UV lamp with the risk of having an halo effect and others that swear only by exposure to the sun of California...Yes but...I live in Brittany (France), a rainy part of my country... So I made my own experience. Here's the process: The Material : Clairol 40 (ebay) Varnish powder An aquarium heater to keep the water at a constant temperature (40°). A kitchen thermometer And a big plastic box. The dip : Protection of logos (top + bottom label) with a so-called waterproof paint tape. Filling of the box: Water + 1/2 box of varnish + the bottle of Clairol, starting of the goldfish heater with and check of the temperature. Result : After three days stirring from time to time...The atari came out...whiter than white (ultra bright) To compare, another STF that had about the same color before treatment. If you look closely, there are still spots, for example above the keyboard in the middle, there must have been a star-shaped sticker? The two parts didn't bleach the same way. Mystery! The logo is dead Conclusion : 1 - It works...But... 2 - It's too white! Better than before...not sure. Before, the brown was more uniform. This Atari was carried everywhere by his former owner (a musician), and he obviously took a lot of smoke, that leaves some spots that have not left. I doubt I can get anything uniform with any other process. 3 - No blooming effect. On the other hand, some spots can still be seen. 4 - The California sun...the uv lamps...It works. But in a back kitchen without window with water at 40° it also works. 5 - It looks like there are several kinds of plastic on the same part A grey one underneath and one that ended white on top. Same between the two parts: Same bath and both done at the same time, the results are different. And yes I swapped the parts during the process to try to have something uniform (failed...). 6 - The tape didn't protect the top logo, I still have to find a new one. However, the label with the serial number below is intact. Morality : Funny experiment to do but that cost me the price of a used STF so...Well...Not awesome
-
Thanks Umberto, i'll send them an email for the STF. But their badges are different from the originals (but if i don't find any i'll see with this seller).

Top Games You'd Like to Have for Atari 8-Bits
Marsupilami replied to MrFish's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Nice but far from the original. I mean the best part with shufflepuck was humour, the simple but efficient sounds effects and the fact that each opponent played differently. The music here is good but... The Amstrad CPC version was also great for a 8 bit :
