800XL Motherboards variants "NTSC PAL SECAM" for dummies
Marsupilami replied to Marsupilami's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks Philsan, i've added your pictures but one because "800XL PAL Rev.D PBT 504 - back" is missing, do you have it somewhere ? And BTW, congratulations for the quality of the pictures -
Hi, you'll find the original xex files attached. My atari is a stock 800 XL Secam. I'll send you a list of (not) working games tomorrow (more than 50% so far). And BTW, for an unknown reason i can't add some other Xex files in Sicgen (drag and drop does not work for some .xex files). siccart-xex.zip

Best Atari Dealer - The good - the bad and the ugly
Marsupilami replied to Blues76's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Those disk games in the odd boxes are legitimate releases. Best Electronics has those pictured on their Atari 8 bit page and I used to see them in computer stores. I have the manual for the Gateway to Apshai (but not the disk, oddly enough. Came in an ebay bundle). Indeed. But it's not what i was expecting. Adding pictures or a simple note saying that it's not the "Official" box release to prevent any customers disappointment is easy...This behavior is (IMHO) really "border line". ...And BTW, the "strip poker" cover looks like it's being printed with a modern inkjet printer. -
Salut à tous, Français aussi, collectionneur d'A8 série XL et ces temps-ci surtout à la recherche de ces belles boites en platique "Atari France". Voilà aller hop remonte petit topic

Indeed, i was pretty upset since it was a 400$ order ! Moreover i can't even try to sell that stuff on ebay as no one would buy it -

Best Electronics- I love the catalog. Very good communication, very clear, very good advices and services, very...everything The "Best" ever. Atarimax - Smart & friendly, always available, always answer to questions even months after selling. I still don't kwow if/how Steve has a personnal life after taking so much great care of its users atari-shop.nl - Not a big catalog but kind, pleasant, good and clear communication. B&C - Strictly professional. They always refund shipping costs without the need to ask. We had some issues in the past but always solved in the end so i still buy from them. Video 61 - Friendly but VERY unclear: Adverts "ALL GAMES ARE NEW IN THE BOX UNLESS NOTED". Yeah well: Bought some very expensive XE cartdriges/floppies and received sh.... homebrews in handmade boxes or strange flat plastic boxes I said nothing, assuming I should have asked before. But won't buy there again... Some samples: atari-sales.com - Haven't tried yet. Not sure if it's originals or home made cartdriges... -
Please help me to finish my Xegs cartdrige fullset

Copying text from a BASIC listing to the PC
Marsupilami replied to therealbountybob's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Ok but how do you manage the "special" ATASCII chars ? I have the same problem: I have a lot of old newspapers full of basic programms i'd like to transfer to my A8. Since i'm lazy , that what i do: - Scan then OCR the programm to a .txt - Convert the .txt to ATASCII with atari800win - Spend my nights to enter the special chars with atari800win But it's time consumming and not really easy... MemoPad is a good piece of software, it just needs the ability to edit files... In fact, the Atari scene is really missing a good programming tool, something like the Commodore 64 .prg Generator Any volonteer ?
