  4. After a quick look over all entries: Great stuff! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this NYD! --------------------------- Here are some short infos to my entry QUADRIXX It's a sorting game, you have to shoot the tiles in rows to get points. Rows are only counted in shooting direction! For example: If you shoot vertical and complete a row in horizontal, it will not disapear. Blocks (quadrat symobls) stay on the screen, they can't cleared with a row. The only way to get rid of them is to bomb them with a row of skulls nearby. There are 3 speeds: beginner, advanced and mayhem. In the first to speedlevels the speed gets faster, as longer as the game lasts. "Mayhem" starts with the fastest speed. For more infos read the rules in the game. It is written in Turbobasic, and it will boot automatically. Do not deactivate Basic while booting. -------------------------- ...Holger

  21. Hello, before we made the new rules two years ago, many Atarians said that limitation to an Atari 8bit with a maximum of 64Kb and with no special enhancements is not useful to get those great things like VBXE or stereo sound more in focus in the Atari community. So we changed these rules and made almost everything possible. A special rule which says that every program must run under PAL and NTSC would cause less submissions. But one of the big goals of the ABBUC Software Competition is to get every year really good new software. At least, some programmers do special program code for NTSC, we even have some hints for it in the rules. --sentence deleted-- ...Holger
