  1. Play the game. You'll see the instruments. There are saxophones, violins, snare drums, and others. Each instrument plays when you touch it. You'll also lose a life, so just restart when you run out. AtariProtos has more info on how to play. Edit: What I called a violin may actually be a lower pitched instrument.
  2. Would have been awesome if the box had said Fresh... Exciting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTJ1XwGDcA4
  3. I agree that technically and artistically this game is astounding. The control scheme is just so poorly designed! Push the button and use the joystick to swim... how much more convoluted could this be? And why do I feel the need to complain that flying feels too floaty? Still, glad to have an excuse to really get into this one, otherwise I doubt I could have gotten over the learning curve to really appreciate it. Thanks. I tried again and managed to clear level 2 after realizing that sometimes you have to touch the grey clouds. Probably won't get around to playing again before the submission deadline. 210
  4. Well it is erratic to think that you refuel a plane that way.
  5. It's a masterpiece of programming with top-notch artwork, but it wasn't my cup of tea. At least I gave it a try. 99
  6. Of course NE146 still gets the credit.
  7. After typing 00 in the place described above, press enter for the change to register. You can also test your change right away by entering "cleartraps" and pressing `.
  8. That detail would have helped. My bad. Did you try the same folder as Stella? That's where the file appeared on my system (a Mac).
  9. It timed out for me. Didn't work at all. Have you ever hacked before, RT? This is a simple one that a newbie or a trained raccoon could do. It took me about 5 minutes, and I would have been faster if I weren't such a noob at Dvorak typing. If you've hacked before, go ahead and skip these instructions: 1) Launch Ms. Pac in Stella. 2) Press ` (left of the '1' key) to activate the debugger. 3) At the prompt enter "trapwrite COLUBK" 4) Press ` to run the program until the debugger stops it. 5) Look for the following code on the right. You may need to press ` more than once. LDA #$90 BIT $94 BPL LF0F0 LDA #$00 STA COLUBK 6) On the far right next to "LDA #$90" You'll see "A9 90" and 90 means blue. Change it to 00 for black. 7) Enter "saverom mspacblackbg.bin" (or any filename you like) 8 ) Done!
  10. I've decided to part with an item I picked up 10 years ago at the 2001 Game Developers' Conference. It is a bottle of "Gabbit Juice" (liquid candy) promoting Munch's Oddysee. Possibly rare. Google turns up little information about it. Could become a coveted collectible in a few years when the generation that grew up on Xbox gets nostalgic. The auction ends on Thursday, so don't hesitate. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 270748781618
  11. I like how when they say children's songs they mean public domain.
  12. Yes they were luring kids, but only for their parents' money.

    Minor update

    Great work, Darrell.
  14. The flicker is a bit strong, but it works on my hardware now. Funny that the first build worked for dwane413's Harmony but not mine. Something similar happened when I was testing 21 Blue. There may be a particular issue with my SD card or my Harmony. I'll try a different card and if that doesn't help I'll PM batari. (Yes, I had added dpc+.arm)
  15. I personally like Muncher because it has fun characters and it redeems a good maze game that had no business being called "Pac-Man". And of course any hack in the store is worth looking into.
  16. Very cool. The power of DPC+ is becoming more apparent. Unfortunately only the first image appears on my hardware. Hopefully it won't be hard to fix. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oApzXKbeDM8
  17. Looks good. Now that that's taken care of, who are the models?
  18. The bug appears consistently. and there seems to be a clear pattern: f(J, 3) = 61 f(6. K) = 64 f(2, A) = 51 f(10, 4) = 62 conjecture: f(a, b) = a + b + 48
  19. Hey, I finally tried this out. Nice sounds, controls, interface, and of course nice graphics. Has anyone else tried this on Harmony? I'm getting some funny numbers in the 60's and 70's. I'm no Blackjack expert, but I think 62 would be a bust? (21blue.NTSC.20110403, Harmony firmware 1.05, 4-switch woody)
  20. It's fun to imagine what console they meant. Anyway, it's always good to see homebrews getting attention.
  21. How long is a while? Heard about Halo 2600 yet? The latest news is that cd_w has picked up Chetiry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACsEhqHKbzA I've been away for a while too (since Nov. 09), so there is probably more news as well.
  22. Haha, Not at all. Lots of good info here.
