That was quick! Thanks.

I don't see this ever being as good as RR.
I think it's safe to say that the 2005 holiday cart was unusually excellent, and should not be a basis of comparision.

I was never into Warlords much, but this game of yours is so well done, I'm getting into Medieval Mayhem.

The end of Skies of Arcadia.

(no it's not a bomb, it's a Quadrun lab loaner...)
Good thing you didn't bring Canyon Bomber, or Kaboom!

I wish I could have gone but it seems my bosses did a fine job in the Podcast that was posted.
I am the new Community Manager at Atari and guess I just want to further support what was said. Attitudes are changing at Atari now and we will be doing all that we can to help and support all of our community.
Nice to meet you. I look forward to hearing more about Atari's relationship with the classic gaming community.
Imagine a one-player version of Combat...

BTW, if you don't want to solder, you get can a PCB with a socket, but the disadvantage is that it won't fit in an ordinary Atari shell. You can still play with the bare board though.
-
You can get all the parts you need from the AA store. You'll need an 8k PCB and an 8K EPROM. You write data to the EPROM with a special machine called an EPROM burner or writer. They are expensive, but maybe you can find someone who will let you use theirs. I've recently started getting into making carts myself, and I'm getting the impression that it isn't as hard as it sounds at first.well shit....i can find cart shells but how can i burn an Rom onto a connector....plus where do you get blank connectors

BTW, here with the readme file from the garfield release.

The company that controls the rights to Garfield generously gave permission for the ROM to be released, and they allow people to make cartridges for their own personal use, as long as they are not sold. I hope no one tries to sell carts.I like the game too. Is there anyway for people to burn the ROM image onto an Atari cart to play on the VCS?????? I would buy that shit.
We can get into a debate about the current intellectual property laws, but whether we agree with them or not they are the reason we don't have other prototypes that are dumped but not released.

I haven't seen the carts yet, but you can see the label on the left. There's a higher resolution image in the homebrew forum.Yes, Zach Matley's "Four-Play" is being released at the show. Didn't have time to take pictures before the event, but it'll go up in the store on or before December 1st (along with some other games if all goes as planned!)l

It's sunny and 75° where I am, but no videogame conventions are around. I'm jealous.

From the manual: "Herding is as important as roping." As long as rows are full, you won't have to worry about black sheep.
-
LOTR?BTW: I have made a lot of DiStella configuration files, tell me which game you want to disassemble. Perhaps I can help.
-
Nice work so far. There's a bit of a learning curve to the controls, but I think anyone get the hang of it. I hope you able to continue work on it.

-
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. If and when this project continues, perhaps limiting it to merely first capture go (also known as "atari go" (how convenient)) would make the programming effort a lot easier.
-
The NTSC version is done. If you are coming to the VGEXPO in Philadelphia this weekend, you will be one of the first to have the chance to buy Four-Play.

-
Also, how are the demos going to be shown at the expo? Will they be running on emulators, or on a programmable cart (Cuttle/Krokodile/etc.)?
Al usually makes cartridges to show works in progress. Your Suduko is a special case as AFAIK the only ways to show your bankswitching on a console are with a CC2 or a custom board. Same thing with batari's Maze Craze 2, except a supercharger would work too. You'll have to work that out with Al.
-
You're new here right? Welcome, and don't worry. Someone will post a link.I doubt it's a prank, the screenshots and cartridge look pretty legit too me.
Has anyone ever tried to pull a proto hoax in the past?
-
I will have several Atari 2600 systems setup for play at the VGXPO next weekend. If you have an upcoming homebrew game you'd like me to demo at the show, please contact me ASAP and we can discuss demoing it at the show.
Thanks!
..Al
With less than a week to get ready, will you have time to make a list of demos and new homebrews to be shown at VGEXPO?
-
It's clear at this point how the poll will turn out, and IMO this thread is ready to be unpinned. As for my next project, I am going to wait for news from Philadelphia before making any decisioins.

embarking on buiding a 2600 collection now.

I'm pretty happy with Dimple Records. They've got a good selection of loose carts, and prices are on the high side of reasonable. I don't expect the cashiers to be Atari enthusiasts, but they do scan the bar code, collect my cash, and hand back the change promptly.
I just checked out a newer store in our area, Fair Game. They advertise "everything from Atari to Xbox", but the classic section was tiny. (not surprised, actually) On the plus side, the store (Fair Oaks location) has four classic arcade cabinets in excellent condition: Asteroids Deluxe, Joust, Centipede, and Tron.
