Initially when the SMS was marketed it was sold as the 'Sega', at least in the west. It was only later that they started referring to it as the Master System. Regardless, it's a cool system that looks really slick next to my stylish 2600 Jr. You can't beat black, red and chrome... I'm living in the future baby!

@ theloon; Do you intende to take this further and make your own Arkanoid clone or are you just doing this for S & G's?

^ Black Forest released. Nintendo was just another company which allowed the last title to be sold on Wii-U. It was initially funded through Kickstarter and released on PC before anything else happened. The DS version, again, is not owned by Nintendo. They just conceded a losing battle...

What is it?! I've downloaded to try it out later but I'm curious just now.
-
Thanks for sharing these. Maybe the game will be playable now!

I can't think of 3 of the top of my head but I would love a revamped Pole Position. To my mind, it's a 'nearly there' game but lacks the love obviously given to something like Enduro.

That would be brilliant! Should I PM you my details? Would you take a Paypal payment? Thanks so much.

Four New Games at PRGE from AtariAge
PFL replied to Albert's topic in 2013 Portland Retro Gaming Expo
I'm curious too. Are the boxes only available at the show? I would love to get my grubby paws on that Ixiom box. Also, just wondering, do you intend to sell the Seaweed Assault box separate? I already bought the cart a while back... -
Thanks for taking on board our suggestions. It's nice to have the ear of the talent! I'm glad you enjoyed Poing. It's a fantastic take on the Pong game. My personal favourite version is Poing 6. I'm not really sure why but I prefer it to Poing 7. Anyway, all the versions have really cool procedural music. One thing I have noticed about your game though is the flickering. When I play it through Stella it flickers a little, when I switch on the phosphor effect the flickering all but disappears. On my real 2600 the flickering is much more profound even on my CRT. I'm not complaining but I am curious as to why the game reacts differently under these circumstances...

Ha! I was just about to post the same suggestion. That would be pretty cool. Especially if the music was also changed to the Giana Sisters theme. The guy behind the Great Giana Sisters sadly died recently but I'm sure the team who recently did the Kickstarter project would see the humour in this idea.

Would someone be kind enough to help me with an order from AT Games? They only ship in the States but I live in the UK. I have emailed them in the past and they said they wouldn't ship to me. I've just mailed them again in the hope that they've changed their policy but I'm not holding my breath. Anyway, I was wondering if someone in the States could order on my behalf and then ship the goodies over to me here in the UK? I'm after a set of paddles (I'm tired of my old worn out ones) and the arcade poster set. Thanks in hope.

Thanks guys for the help and interest. I'll create a shortcut to use just now.

This is probably a silly question but is there a global option to turn on the phosphor effect rather than just on a ROM by ROM basis?
-
Beamrider and Fast Eddie are both underrated if you ask me. Both are really polished and very playable even by today's homebrew standards.

4870... so far! This is now officially my favourite bat'n'ball game on the 2600. Very well done indeed. Thanks for sharing. Do you have plans for a 'deluxe' version or are you finished with the genre just now? It's a surprisingly under represented field on the 2600. If you did decide to make another version it would be great to have paddle control and perhaps some music. There was a version called Poing on the Amiga and it used randomising algorithms to generate tunes. I always loved that. Something to show the level number you've reached would be nice too and perhaps having the game 'pause' between rounds requiring a button press to start (I'm an old fogie and sometimes I need to go pee quick! ) Of course, a couple of extra pickups and enemies wouldn't hurt either but that's just greed on my part! Regardless, I do mean it when I say this is my favourite version on the 2600. Good job, bloke.

Channel F with Multi-cart - UK Grandstand Version For Sale
PFL replied to sut's topic in Auction Central
God, I wish I wasn't poor just now! Good luck with the sale though. -
I would love a mashup homebrew of the best of both these games together with the twin stick controls of Thomas's hack. That would be my dream tank game on the 2600.
-
This looks excellent. I will give it a blast as soon as I have the opportunity. Just wondering, is this an original idea or is it based on some flash game or something that I've missed?

I just wanted to share my sympathy with you Sprybug. This is a needlessly soiled end to what was a great and inspired project. I understand that these big companies must chase infringement at all times so that a legal precedent of turning a blind eye isn't set but it's still really, really shitty. This is why I have given up on modern gaming in general. I'm tired of the bland, beige and conservative corporate stuff. I actually want to play games that are made by people having fun with the creative process. I don't know, it just causes me to enjoy the game more... call me crazy. I'm sorry Spry. I wish we lived in a more trusting world. *Melodrama ends...*

Just my ineptitude. I am terrible at games in general and I tend to play this game like Asteroids (camping in the one spot for most of the time) which, of course, doesn't work. I just need to get used to flying around a bit more.

^ Same here. I'm lucky if I can last 60 seconds! I really want to like it though. Practice, practice, practice, I suppose...

I'd like a boxed copy (with shirt) please. EDIT: Why will the shirts have 407 miles on them?

Anyone think Ballblazer is possible on the 2600?
PFL replied to Segataritensoftii's topic in Homebrew Discussion
^ I agree with every word. -
That'll explain it then.
