  1. I'm loving the game as is and can't wait to see your other (potential) additions. The only thing I would ask, I presume your aware of this already, is to have the current hi-score on the title screen if you can't manage to make a separate hi-score screen. Also, I know this is probably asking a bit much but would it be possible to save the hi-scores?
  2. Is this just a GFX hack or do you have plans for gameplay changes too?

    Power Light Mod

Those LED toggle switches look pretty cool. Nice find. I was wondering what would happen if you hooked up, say, a red LED from Maplins with no resistor. Would it just drain as much power as it liked until it blew something in the console or would it overload the PSU itself? Just curious as from an ignorant POV it doesn't seem like just sticking an LED to your power switch would make much difference to the system...
  4. @ Brian O; In the meantime, would it be possible for you to make some sexy desktop wallpapers from this artwork? It's really lovely and it would be a shame to let it languish.
  5. Thanks for the response Sprybug. I suppose I'll have to dig out one of my Megadrive controllers.
  6. Oh well. Can't have everything I suppose... I actually have a couple of Megadrive pads here but I actually prefer to use my SMS Control Stick on my 2600. I don't really know why. Maybe it's because it's such a simple and humble 'arcade' stick - much like the 2600 is a simple and humble 'arcade' machine.
  7. Earlier in the thread there was talk of coding in Megadrive controller functionality. I actually like to use my SMS controllers on my 2600. Will I be able to use bothe SMS buttons with the same code or am I stuck to using one button?
  8. Slightly OT; Would it be possible to use this engine to make a decent version of Omega Race for the VCS? I find the original game to be a total flickerfest and it really kills the game for me...
  9. Is it possible for you to make a PAL60 version of the game? I really want to play it on my Harmony but the colours make the game unplayable on a PAL system. PS: From what I've seen so far this is pretty cool, btw!
  10. Yeah. It must be a UK problem. Damned regional legislation or tax issue I presume. Regardless, it's bloody annoying! Still, I'm sure someone'll have copies up on eBay... I might have to go that route.
  11. ^ Do you have a second controller attached too? If not, how do you access the Z button menu?
  12. I'd love to see it identical, flaws and all. But there should obviously be one difference... How about titling the cart as REP SEA CROSSING? That way it's obviously a repro but doesn't impinge on the original design in any way/
  13. I asked before but didn't get an answer. Can I order this in the UK? Normally, Amazon.com won't allow UK orders instead referring me to the Amazon.co.uk site. Thanks for any help.
  14. The Hori pad is excellent. Don't be put off by the GC layout. Remember that the GBA only has 2 face buttons anyway and those are (obviously, I supppose) to the A and B buttons on the Hori pad. It works wonderfully. I have my GBA Player with component cables and Hori pad permanently hooked up to my TV and it's a fantastic gaming experience. I highly recommend this set up even if it is a little costly. The 3rd party GBA adaptor thingy uses emulation and is really pretty poor. There's compatibility issues, lag and bad video quality. I'd recommend buying a cheap laptop and running VBA instead. It's much better! As far as the video carts go, the reason was definitely a licencing issue. The Cartoon Network et al didn't want to compromise potential video/DVD sales by allowing the video carts to play on your telly. I remember this issue being discussed a lot at the time when I owned my game store...
  15. Welcome aboard. The VCS community is incredibly talented and very, very active. There's barely a week goes by without a new game being announced and/or released. Some of these projects are 'hacks' of old games with improvements in gameplay or graphics but there are a lot of new titles too. Recently, there have been franchises and games that have been brought back such as Boulder Dash and Star Castle but there have also been announcements for totally brand new games like Blinky Goes Up and Space Rocks. Just take an afternoon and browse through the 2600 forum... you'll be amazed what you'll find!
  16. Are the sticks with the FB 3 the same as the FB 2 ones? I just presumed they were different. If so, I might just pick one up...
  17. ...It's a pretty cool comic. I would have loved it if Atari had developed it into a full on series a la Atari Force or maybe even a cartoon.
  18. I wish they would make a 'Flashback' in the style of Hyperkin's SupaBoy. I mean, we have already had 4 Flashbacks, th 10 in 1 plus the paddle games unit. Is it so much hassle for Atari to create a Flashback with a built in screen an TV out?
  19. A level editor would, indeed, be great. Is that possible, at all?
  20. A PAL version would be great. Will I have to buy it again?
  21. I love the Atari Force comics and I really want to get my hands on the games that contain the 'prequel' comics (Galaxian etc) but I've absolutely no idea what I should look to pay for them. Ideally, I'd like to get the PAL games but if it's easier and/or cheaper to go for the NTSC ones I might go for them as it's only really the comics I'm after. Any advice would be appreciated.

    noob RF question

I don't know for sure as I'm based in the UK and the RF connections are different but I presume any of the RF cables found on eBay would do the job for you. The RF signal from the VCS isn't that great as is so I don't suppose the 'quality' of the RF cable matters too much.
