  1. I've got a whole load of collectible DS stuff from the launch of the system in the UK and Europe. I have things like a branded NDS hooded jacket as worn by Nintendo reps at launch. Ring binders, pens, pencils, postcards, info sheets, VIP tickets to the Paris pre launch party, wall hangings, shop signs and ads etc, etc. I also have some demo booth carts (Warioware, Nintendogs...) as well as the Nintendo VIP preorder bundle which includes game demos and VIP t-shirts. Loads of other bits and pieces that I could look out if anyone is interested. Post here or shoot me a PM.

    Atari 2600 (Vader)

WD40? It works for me on most old Atari switches...
  3. I wish I was rich or single. I'd love a copy of the 2600 box set. It really does look lovely - even just as a discussion piece...
  4. Well thanks for the help Life's Continues. It seems to have worked for me. Now, I'm hoping that the order goes through successfully. And just as an extra treat, I bought myself an AA t-shirt too.
  5. ^ Thank you very much. It would be really appreciated.
  6. Yeah, I can add it to the cart but I can't complete the transaction as I'm told my log in details are invalid. I've tried resetting my password maybe 5 times now but it makes no difference... Maybe I should just get another web mail account and set up a new store account...
  7. ^ Isn't that what the American Pie et al movies are all about? Really bad cheesy films that date badly as soon as they're released!?
  8. Forgive my ignorance but will this run on my Harmony or do I need a specific DPC+ cart? This looks gorgeous by the way.
  9. Help! I can't log in to the shop to order a copy. I've PM'd Albert and I've also used the 'contact us' link on the store front but I haven't ahd any response. Am I too late?
  10. Not really gaming films but two classic cheese-fests about computer geeks are: Dungeon Master Electric Dreams Dungeon Master is watchable if not the greatest film of all time. Electric Dreams is a proper classic IMHO. It captures the magic, hopes and dreams of the times really well and the main theme is a classic pop song too.
  11. Still think Blinky in the Drinky is a better title. I love the box art. I really want to see this come to fruition. I'm also eager to hear the game now that it has SFX. Would you consider doing a limited run poster of the art work? I'd seriously love this framed in my living room!
  12. ^ That would be a great. I use a Logitech Nano mouse and if I click it I get very smooth scrolling. Would love to see this happen.
  13. Yes they do. I do most of my gaming using EZ-Flash IV. I play GBA games as well as, through emulation, GB/GBC, NES, SMS & Game Gear! I use my GBA needs and the GB Player on my CRT at home and have never come across any compatibility issues. After all, the GB Player is basically a GBA without a screen...
  14. ^ You can always get an EZ-Flash IV and use GB/GBC emulation (the best one is called Goomba). That's how I try out the ROM hacks. The emulation is surprisingly accurate and does feel like your playing on the real harware. If anyone's looking for respectable sellers I'd recommend popping over to GBATemp and look at the sponsors or follow the Shoptemp link. There are lots of places to buy eg/ Kicktrading and Deal Extreme...

    WTB Vic 20

    Where are you based?
  16. If I get a job between now and then I'll definitely be going. I've wanted to attend an expo for years now but never managed to have the time and the money! It would be nice to make it to an event before the end of the world strikes...
  17. I really hope that Atari_Falcon's post is genuine. It's always nice to see a system get some love - especially if it's something a little different... Good for you, bloke! It also means that all of Tiger's and the game developers' hardware wasn't all for nothing... Geek Confession : My 'crappy console that I like' would have to be my beloved Pokemon Mini. Everyone laughs at me for that thing but I love it!
  18. Yeah, it definitely runs under OGL 1.2. That's all my netbook supports (on-board GMA 945). I played around with test build 2 last night and for whatever reason it is definitely running slower than previous releases. There's no slowdown as such. It just seems to be consistently a little slow and it doesn't matter whether I have any filters/scanlines on or not. It's still totally playable though. Is there a way to check screen output FPS? It'd be interesting to see if it's still running at fully 60 FPS...

    Bummer...

At least you lot have places to go and find games for the VCS. There are absolutely no shops anywhere near me (read: Scotland!) that sells them, ever. The only place I can get my PAL VCS games from at any reasonable price is eBay... Lucky me!
  20. Running the test build on my Dell Mini 9 with 32 bit Windows XP seems to work fine though it feels a little slower than the previous couple of releases. That may be a little psychological as I've been playing a lot on the real hardware of late so I'll continue playing around and let you know how I get on with a low end machine (Open GL 1.2).
  21. I LOVED those podcasts, they were both so nice to listen to with soothing voices. I was so annoyed that Earl kept slipping on his podcast routine he just could not stick to any sort of schedule. In case you don't know though Earl moved on to another podcast: http://web.me.com/dg...Roundtable.html Earl, is back with a new Retrobits and is promising to stick with it. Here's hoping it lasts. It's pretty much my favourite old school podcast. Regardless, it's nice to have at least one more new episode. Does anyone know of any decent British/European podcasts? I enjoy listening to the North American ones that I've found but I wish there was a good quality classic gaming podcast with a view on the British scene. It was very different in the 70's and 80's over here and it would be nice to hear others reminisce about the old 8 bits like the Dragon 32 or even the Speccy... There was no real crash over here in the early 80's so I feel like there's this massive hole in the coverage of the old gaming/computing scene...

    2600 Vs Vic 20

I don't think the C64 would have been so successful if it weren't for the consumer floodgates opened by the Vic - A domestic home computer that sells over a million units surely must make an impact on the conciousness of the buying public. The Vic wasn't a threatening business behemoth with a price tag to match so that must've meant the C64 was a less intimidating upgrade in the domestic computing market. Also, Commodore killed off the Vic by dint of the (eventual) success of the C64 whereas the VCS gained longevity due to the failure of the 5200 and delay of the 7800. To my mind computer/console lifespan has little to do with technical merits or software quality...
  23. Paid. Don't spend it all on sweets!
