You're welcome.

That would be too cool. I can't wait to see it.

Great idea! I'm looking forward to trying it out.
I don't know if it's out of your project 'remit' but have you thought about adding other drum sounds to the second joystick, at all? That could be fun using two joysticks stuck the table.

A slight tangent: Does anyone know of any good PC gaming podcasts out there? There seems to be lots of Youtube videos but not a lot of actual audio shows...

...it is an aquired taste...
Indeed. First you acquire one and then you have taste.

That'd be great! I'm not too bothered about it being on the real metal if it's too difficult to record. I'm not really bothered about direct feed video either though... I actually quite like videos that are made with a camera in front of the telly. It adds to the old school feel!

Lady Bug really is an impressive port. I've sunk a lot of hours into that game!
-
I'd really like to see some more homebrew get some more attention. Panky the Panda, Juno First, Lady Bug, Chetiry, Space Rocks... Maybe even some of the more interesting hacks like the trackball Missile Command or the tank control (two joystick) Battlezone.

I know tha Devin hasn't been on here for a while (I checked his profile) but thought you guys might like this review video I stumbled across.

You're welcome.
And, yeah, Commodore and Atari paddles use pots with different resistances. It's a little strange considering Commodore just straight out copied the joystick schematics...At least they kind of work across both systems.

Five really great stand outs for me would be:
Princess Rescue
Halo
Space Rocks
Chip Off
Juno First
The bottom five of my list changes on a weekly basis so I'll just leave my perennial favourites.

Nice review. Just gotta work on that mic placement!
Do you plan to do any other 2600 games, at all? Thanks for sharing.

-
Don't bother mailing them. I'm in Scotland and I've tried a couple of times but they're pretty steadfast in their not shipping outside the US policy...

I've been listening to lots of lo-fi electronic stuff of late and decided to see what General Mike and Army of 2600 had been up to over the past few months. I had a look around for "Army of 2600" and "General Mike" but I can't seem to find anything up to date. His Facebook page and Reverb Nation page have both been closed. I did a search for General Mike here under 'Members' but it came back with no results... It's all the more strange because he used to be so prolific.

I hope all's well with him.

Thanks Thomas. I was unsure if that list was complete or not. I could have sworn there were others... Maybe I'm thinking of Intellivision patches... Like I said, addled brain...
As for those other patches, how cool are they?! I love the 'You Suck' one.

I know there's probably a list that my addled brain has overlooked but I can't seem to find one...
So, does anyone know of a definitive list of Atari 2600 game patches from Activision? Were there any made for the PAL regions or were they just for the North American market?
Thanks for any pointers.

They had a PET and a C=64 though. That should be good enough!!

No. Having the Vic's predecessor and its successor but no Vic itself? That's just insulting!
@godzillajoe: +1 internetz for you, ya big geek!
-
Great to see a new version of this. I'll have to play it after work though... Pesky job!
-
Nice geek fan service there. Now, if they had a Vic 20 on the shelves then I'd start watching the programme!

I love Atari, the 2600 was fantastic and I loved it, I also still have my Lynx from when I got it new. However, I am also realistic.
It was just a joke bloke.

I don't think this thread is remotely serious. No system is better than another. The whole thing is subjective... Just a bit of fun.

NES is still better
Perhaps you should consider changing your name to something a little more suitable then.

-
Atari is better. This is common sense.
This is, indeed, true. It's scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it but it is scientific fact.

Thanks for the pic. It seems us PAL players will be racing in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I'm looking forward to playing some Pole Position tonight. There are certainly quite a few ROMs for me to mess around with.

-
I wonder if someone would be kind enough to make a PAL version of this. I've always wished for a fixed ET game and now there is one... but not for me.

Thanks in hope.

How does this look on PAL systems?

Am I missing something with the last build? I can't get it to even start (using Stella 4.0 just now)! I've pressed every button I can see!
Still, the screenies look great so I too would love to see an update... perhaps a build I could play - there're just far too many many buttons on those old Atari controllers.
