  1. The giant cable companies really tick me off. I worked for one in a call center for three months as a temp job, one of the worst odd jobs I can recall. They weren't necessarily "evil" either, just... very, very complicated and disorganized. That's what ticks me off more than anything though, they're among some of the most disorganized companies known to man, yet they get their pants in a bunch if you're a day late on a bill. Irritating...
  2. Using a lil' "piece-o-crap" CRT for my old consoles, was never truly satisfied with the output on my older game consoles, even when I played around with the preferences and sharpness. Always thinking about going back and trying other things though, this retro clunker of mine sadly won't last forever - but maybe long enough to continue enjoying.
  3. Big fan of the CX-40 myself. I also use it on the 7800.
  4. Writing.. or gaming.. haven't decided yet.

  6. I'd like to apologize for neglecting this blog, which I thought would become more of an ongoing thing. I see that my last post was around November '08, which is around the time I started a new job. I'm still employed with the same company, though now I'm up in the strange (not so), exotic (still not so) land of Alaska. I've been active on a few other sites as of late, so I thought I'd pop back on AtariAge in order to see if I can pick this up again. Maybe an entry here and there, possibly a forum post or two if I find time. Ugh, so many games to play these days and there's never enough time. As for my general game collection, it's currently soaring. I haven't been able to find as many Atari games as I'd like, but in total I have about 500-600 games from different systems. Not the most impressive amount in the world, but I like to think it's pretty significant. Hopefully I can get reacquainted with some of you folks in the next few weeks, I remember everyone being so nice when I first came around - including a neat lil' logo from Random Terrain
  7. I'm pretty sure it's lime green to fit in with the stereotypical cooking-cleaning-stay-at-home-mom's 1960's kitchen theme.. at least that is the impression I got when I saw it paired with that flowery lime/white case, bundled with the "Personal Trainer: Cooking" game
  8. DSi isn't really the horror people (including myself) thought it would be. plays all "old" DS games just fine, and the GBA slot is hardly a loss if you do in fact have a GBA, SP, or hell, even a Micro.. Here are the best choices to make, in my opinion.. If you have no DS at all, might as well jump on the current wagon and go for the DSi. If you have the "Phat" DS, an upgrade would be very considerable. If you (this is probably the majority) have a DS Lite, I wouldn't upgrade just yet, but consider the DSi in the future if the price drops. The interface is awesome, and the extra features are entertaining.. the DSiWare content still leaves a little to be desired, but hey, it's only been a month..
  9. I need to play my copy again too.. got it on my DS shelf right next to my Namco Museum DS. Saw a few people around who did complain that the Konami Classics was a lower-grade emulator.. ..but most of the reviews/opinions I read were seen after I already bought the thing anyways.. just saw it at the store, last copy, been eyeballing it for a week, and I knew it was right up my alley. uugh, Atari's ports were barely even passable, vs. Namco/Konami.. and they completely lost me on the "remix" versions.. I'm glad I only paid $10 for it.. only near-playable game on there was probably asteroids, every other game had some weird problem or gimmick that just didn't feel right. people who have lots of complaints about the Namco/Konami ports should witness this for themselves, then "weird aspect ratio" contra and pac-man won't seem like a problem.
  10. last time I played was two nights ago! *shame* I play every night to every-other-night when I actually have more ME time.. ...damn I hate work.
  11. First memory of any game I have was NES Mario Bros/Duck Hunt/Track Meet combo pack.. Atari was my second experience when my dad randomly set up his Atari 5200.. ..unfortunately for the last time, because it broke. It got me obsessed with classic Atari, because what I remember seeing was amazing in my mind.. ..must have been all of the pretty colors and instant action, but I absolutely love my "new" 2600/7800 to this day. first console I ever claimed as my own was the family SNES. Still works to this day, about 17 years old. First "death scare" I had with it was actually 11 years back, mom suggested I trash it, Until I discovered it was just the AC adapter that fried. Wasn't ready to let go, hahah.
  12. More than likely, we won't be seeing any GBA games on the VC for a very long time. The VC would more than likely feature original GB games. I don't understand why people are getting so trigger happy to complain about the details of an implementation that hasn't even happened yet.. I know the game companies have seemed more greedy as of late (especially nintendo), but geeze.
  13. I actually have yet to see a topic on this GB VC subject that doesn't have the word "rumor" in it I agree that it would be pretty cool, and I would probably get a couple of titles for it, seeing as I'll be on the go a lot more often, and it won't be simple to just take an old-old gameboy with everything else of mine, heh. ..as for GBA games, probably not going to even consider getting a port of one of those, unless it's really that hard of a game to find. Most people keep mentioning how "greedy" nintendo is though, but seriously, every [successful] game company has done something similar to this. Sounds like most of the angered ones though are fans of the GBA games, and that's understandable, considering the games still seem pretty fresh and new.. it hasn't been too long at all. For example, you don't see any GameCube games for download on Wii's virtual console (..yet). I personally think it's an awesome idea for the old-old Gameboy games, especially if it's games that cost an arm and a leg on auction sites, or that you can never find in thrift stores. ..I'd like to save my "collecting" money for my Atari game finds, but thats just me ..never even though of that. Me too. Would be nice to play on a well lit screen.
  14. Yeah, I did hear that the Warioware snapped was nothing more than a "tech demo" really, not even a good one.. ..surprised it got some of the reviews that it did, but I guess they played it in a well concealed room with exceptional lighting.. I'd like to stay optimistic and think that there will be better games as DSi exclusives, or cooler games to download.. that AQUIA puzzle game isn't half bad either. One thing they are going to need to change about the DSiWare is the originality of the content... so far most of them seem to be cheapo rehash versions of games you either already have, or for just $10 more, you could own it, with four times the content... who remembers the Doom "Shareware" version? Hah. I still think it's a nice sturdy system though.. ..especially when compared to the Phatty. ..and yes, I don't fully understand the camera either.. at least I would never take any serious pictures with it.. Nintendo probably figured it was good for a cheap laugh for those periods where you get bored of the games you have, but don't get paid until next friday
