What is this SIO2PC mod you guys are talking about ? Really bothers me that DB9 is upside down too. I need to flip that before it drives me crazy.

Looks like he just wired the peripheral port to it. Are those usable serial lines ? I thought it needed a 850 to get serial working with an 800.

What would that mod be ? Never heard of it before. Serial interface without a 850 ? Why in the world mount one immediately to the right of the keyboard if so ? There would be a cable right where your hand would usually tend to rest. Actually I guess Atari's layout for cables wasn't much better. All that junk coming out the side instead of the back where it belonged. What a mess.

I just picked up a Atari 800 with some strange db-9 female connector on the side closest the reset buttons. I can't be bothered to rip it apart and see what its connected too but, maybe someone here has heard of a similar mod. Anyone ? Just a standard db9f connector sticking out the side.
