  1. I'm making no promises here but I just had a look at the video and I might be able to use it as a reference point if I strip it frame by frame. It's been a while since my last time of serious pixel grinding like in the old days on my Amiga in Deluxe Paint 4. But here's the catch...I don't know what graphical file format the Atari uses. I mainly use Paintshop Pro and it has the ability to save any pic to IFF format which I can use on my Amiga again. If I know the format I can check it out if I can save to that format. Or any other format used today like 8Bit GIF or BMP. But again I'm making no promises as it'll very time consuming to recreate these Sprites and I don't always have that much time. I'll see if I can use this WMV as source and hope it isn't too blurry when it gets transformed.

    My collection so far

There's some cleaning/grinding stuff, don't know the name, that you can use you clean up scratch up cell phone displays. Some thing might work on a Lynx display as well as long as the scratches aren't the very deep kind. A friend told me about it about a year ago when he saw my scratched display of my old cell phone. He told me that it wasn't that expensive.
  3. I took some photos but it was in poor light conditions. If some might be useful for your site but the photo is too poor to use properly than let me know and I take some pics this weekend during the day with some good light. I did not sort out the photos on focus and such. I went through thme quickly and some are out of focus. I made lots of doubles and for the second set I used a white sheet as a background but I made this without a well set up studio environment what I would do normally. Here's the link to my site where I parked the Rar with he pics. Photo size : 2592x1944 Rar size : 94Mb Amount of photos : 43 Link : http://www.vjeon.com/lynx/lynxpicset.rar Let me know when you downloaded the Rar so I can remove it.
  4. I'm about to drop by my sis place and borrow her Digital Camera. A few items on your request list I have in my little collection. I'll place the links here in a bit.
  5. Here's some pics of the collection I've got so far. No photos of the stack of manuals and the Klax boxed...It's pretty windy outside and I'm at work in my workshed re-building a pc. The overview. The top Lynx mk1 in the right bag has the faulty screen and the one beneath a broken Cartridge flap. But it is fully working but needs a bit of cleaning and care. The Mk2 in the middle is fully working. The Mk2 in the leftside bag has a faulty D-pad. Press right and you go down too. Except for the annoying faults both Lynx' are working so good for spare parts. Overview games Doubles Rygar 2x Shadow of the beast 3x Renegade cop 2x Batman 3x Shanghai 2x Dinolympics 2x Blue lightning 2x Scrapyard dog 3x Klax 2x Gordo 106 2x Checkered flag 3x Lemmings 2x Warbirds 2x Singles Electrocop Pinball jam Fussball/Soccer Hockey Switchblade II Vicking child S.T.U.N. Runner Xenophobe Crystal Mines II Block Out Pac-Land Paperboy Ms. Pac-Man Chip’s challenge Basketgrawl Slime world California games Several other games are in the mail on its way to me but they aren't indexed yet here. One Gauntlet: The Third Encounter cartridge will be mailed to me on monday. That's one down and three more to go. As soon as I got all the goods by mail I can see which ones I'm missing and which ones can go. I'll update list as my collection grows. Link cables and such are not listed h.ere or on the photos
  6. It's been years since I last opened a Lynx for repair. Make that almost 2 decades ago. But I was wondering if the displays between the Mk1 and Mk2 are interchangeable or not. I have a working Mk1 here with a faulty display and a working Mk2 with a buggy D-pad. Going right also means going down for that console. If they are and if it is easy enough then I should be able to repair the Mk1.
  7. And the most funny thing about that advert is the sentence at the bottom of it. 'No biddings below 100Euro.' The only thing missing in the advert is the sentence 'Serious bidders only'

    Pimp my Lynx II

Cool modding. Love it. One question though about the kind of paint you used. I couldn't make that out clear enough. Did you use regular spraycan paint to paint the plastic or spraypaint for plastic? There's a difference between the bonding of the paint to plastic or not good enough if you use the wrong paint for the wrong surface. I'm modding myself too but I never did a mod of a console. Pc mainly. Currently working on my new pc but I'll the pics out of it. Peeps here might go 'HERETIC!!!!' *Whisper* Amiga 2000 case conversion to PC But I used special paint for the front cover which is made of hard plastic. Much like the casing of a Lynx. For the metal casing I used regular car paint. But beside by question...Keep it up...It looks really good. And thank you for giving me more ideas of objects to spraypaint and mod...
  9. Congrats. I was bidding on that one too but left it there when I another seller on the phone agreeing she would sell her collection to me. I had to pick it up in Utrecht as she wouldn't snailmail it me. Lucky for me I can take a direct train to Utrecht Central Station for five Euro more than by mail. You might have seen that advert on Marktplaats. 25 Games, Large+small bag, broken Lynx mk1 and the extra cables+powersupply. Picked that one up for 50Euro. From what I've read there's some 50 games available so half of them I had in one buy and no doubles. But that Mehmet is a merchant. Check all his bidings in the game console section of Marktplaats and some other sections related to that. Amiga, Commodore, Snes, Nintendo, etc. The amount of biddings I encountered are so many that he, assuming this person's gender, is a merchant. A collector doesn't place a few hunderd biddings at a few hunderd different adverts. Plus some hardware I bought was close enough to where I live that I could take the train and pick it up. Some of those peeps had the same experience with this person. Not always responding to mails but in the meanwhile driving up the price by bidding. I don't mind paying a good price for a product, and I'm still Dutch so if I can get for cheap I will , but he's driving up a bit too far for my taste. But enough about that one or else I get the urge to write a very long rant filled with too much sarcasm for this late in the evening But I can deal with a merchant like that. There's more than way to make deals. I still have to wait till next week when my, for now, final package arrives. Then the indexing really starts and I can place my little collection here online (Massive Ego Boost Lvl5+ Activated *Grin*) with the pics. Ty for the warm welcomes.
  10. Hi there all. Finally after all the years being without a Lynx, my first one died (mk1) within a few years after I bought it (1990isch), I finally have another one. To be honest I've got 4 by now. One with a broken display and broken as in not turning on anymore but everything still works, One works almost 100% as long as you don't need to push the Control button to go Right. It goes to the right but downwards too. Most likely a problem with the presspat on the board. One is fully working and my fourth one I know tomorrow when it arrives by mail. A little introduction from my side. I'm a digital artist that performs on stage as a Video Jockey and design adverts, leaflets and such. I started out in 1978 with a simple 2bit handheld game and bought my first Atari 2600 in 1981, Almost a year's worth of pocketpay saved up just to buy the Console new in the store. If you think Hardware is expensive these days be glad you never bought Hardware back then. Ever since I've been working with computers. From Acorn Atom to C64 to Amiga to Lynx and now PC. Recently I was browsing through a Dutch Ebay look-a-like site when I came accros an advert of an Atari Lynx for sale. After some fierce bidding, mainly against some wankers called merchants, on some other adverts I've build up a little collection in over one week's time. Over 50games, 4 Lynx', several universal adaptors, link cables, sunblockers, more small stuff and few bags. Large ones and small ones. Hopefully I get a mail tonight (6pm here) from another seller and that buy would add 19 more games to my collection and more hardware. In the end I'm trying to get four working Lynx' with adaptors and several Multiplayer games to play against eachother. At times I go to Lan-Parties and it would be fun to unpack those Lynx' and be playing against some friends within seconds while all those heavy PC's are still being build. Retro LAN'ng RULEZZZZZZZZ XD When I was looking for a list of released games this week I found this site. So hi there everyone. I'm still indexing all I've got into a nice Database but so far it looks that I have half the games now that were released on the Lynx. Let me say this to be clear...I'm not a collector that needs to have all the gadgets boxed and in foil to placed in a display cabinet nor am I going to get Demo's and Prototypes. When I have the Harware I'm looking for, including some game titles I don't have yet, I'm doing buying up those old Lynx'. The console is meant to used and played on and not for on display in a museum. I noticed that peeps here sell their doubles, I assume, so my question would be if it is ok to place an advert here, or topic, for a trade? With trade I mean trading one, or more, title(s) for the games I'm looking for. If it is ok then I'll post a topic here with a list of games I have double or triple. One cartridge of Chip's challenge is more than enough for me and at the moment I have three of them...at least. I'm looking for four cartridges of Gaunlet The Third Encounter. To round this off... Last week I payed some 120Euro, excluding P&P or traintickets, for 4 Lynx' and over 50Games plus extra's. Sounds like a good deal so far. I noticed the prices some stores dare to ask for something that was included free when you bought the Lynx...See Batman. As soon as my collection is complete, or close enough to it, I'll put some photos online here. Time to play some games....Retro style.
