  1. Now, that make me chuckle... :)

as farah fawcett was passing through the pearly gates, saint peter stopped her. he said, 'farah, before you enter heaven, god has granted you one wish in recognition for all the good you have done with your life on earth." farah thought about this for a moment and said "I wish for all the children of the world to be safe." then michael jackson died.

  2. Well, the DS sucks IMO. I had a GBA SP, and I loved that little machine, then Nintendo came out with the DS, and they lost me as a costumer.

Well most young minds are polluted with the influence of modern games and think graphics are the only important thing about a game. I am a young gamer and choose not to be under the influence of modern games. I don't even have a console of this generation. I even have an original trapezoid shaped DS and none of that stupid extremely bright, blinding, battery draining screen. Besides, you can't set up dominoes with a bunch of CDs now can ya?

It's people like you that make me never want to come to old school forums. I love my old school games, I appreciate their primative and simple gameplay. But I also like complex, modern games like COD and Fallout 3. When you are calling out the DS lite because the screen is apparently sooooo bright that it blinds your eyes, it makes you look like you have your head up your ass aout anything thats not old school.

  3. Sony has lost it's collective mind. I used to think their business practices were fairly savvy, but after this generation...

I am *really* sick of Sony's greediness with the PSP, and all the homebrew stuff, firmware etc. The DS is far more popular, but far easier to run homebrew on. This latest 'PSP Go' can go stick it, as far as I'm concerned. No UMD, trading in games (!?), and I would have to own a PS3 (which just so happens to be the worst selling console currently with the least amount of interesting games)?

Screw you Sony, I'm officially stepping off the Playstation wagon :x

My thoughs exactly. I'm still in love with the PS/2, but no way I'm going with the PS/3 of PSP Go, I don't even have broadband access to download the games!!

  4. How about Activision's Tennis, Boxing and Decathlon?

yes I know that question wasn't directed at me but I'm gonna answer them anyway :P

I think Tennis is a lot of fun, the AI opponent is nigh-impossible to beat, but that's half the fun, isn't it?

Boxing may be some fun with two players, against the computer it is boring as hell. That doesn't mean it's too easy, the AI does reasonably well, but even if you lose, it's boring... in my opinion that is.

However Decathlon... I can't see how anyone today can still like games like that. Yes I know, it's about the old games, retrogames, whatever you call it, however isn't it all about games that are good, despite their age, instead of games that were just misguided "controller killers" like that?

Another note on the VGC: Why does he hate 3D Tic-Tac-Toe so much? Not only does it get an F but reading the text he doesn't even treat it fairly.

Yeah, boxing against a friend its a lot of fun (against the ropes just punching, on lordy :)) Beating Tennis in hard its one of the high points of my childhood :)

Actually, I think 2600 was the last game system I ever played sports games on. I tried basketball in the PS/2 and I hated the complicated controls.

  5. Real Sports Baseball isn't that bad...it was OK back in the day but I prefer to play sports on the PS1 or PS2. Sports games on the classic consoles aren't my cup of tea.

How about Activision's Tennis, Boxing and Decathlon? Those games are a ton of fun if you ask me. Same with Atari's Basketball, and Volleyball, I used to play those games with my friends, tons of fun and good memories.

Activision's Laserblast its an endurance test, go head and score a 1.000.000, takes forever! :)

Reactor its another great game, he is way off in his list.

  6. I had a regular fat PSP, and it would cramp my hands, the little thumbstick was a pain to use, and sadly, many games used it. I think the last portable game system I really liked was the GBA SP. Good design and great games.

  7. Man that sucks, I hope everything works out for you. I'd love to give you a hand, I have a pickup truck back home in the US. When I moved from Florida to North Carolina, I rented an open trailer with u-haul for like 100 bucks for a week. I pulled everything with my Honda Accord (I had a storage room full of boxes and my moped) Good luck!

  8. I'm not going to name names, but over the past year, I've (very infrequently) seen a few annoying posters appear and attempt to start trouble. There's never any flamewar, it just seems that they quietly disappear, along with any threads they started.

This is a really good method for getting rid of troublemakers, and I'm just curious what criteria the mods use to single these jerks out. How do you draw the line between "clueless newbie" and "just here to start shit"?

Sounds like you are asking for methods to defeat our troll defense grid. :ponder:
