  1. affraid you are right... I wonder what happended with the new eBay policy about people ripping off with S/H charges
  2. Well, I think is wrong when I'm charged 15 dollars for S/H, oh and to top it off, the seller owns me 1.24 because he didn't pay enough postage for the box.
  3. cheapgamestuff on eBay. He sent me a stick, paid 99 cents for it, charged me a lot for shipping, came in a re-used free USPS flat rate box, and to top it off, the controller doesn't work with Virtua Tennis, so now I have to sit on it. Of course, paypal took the seller side, so I will never use paypal again, they can go f%$# themselfs.
  4. sweet!!! my coin door arrived! Brand new happs with three slots, and is HUGE! Is gonna look sick in the cab it was worth the 63 bucks
  5. I would have brought it and give it to the girl so it can be hers. That was a nice gesture though.
  6. try craigslist.org, you can probably find someone local to take it
  7. sure, no problem. man if I have to do this again, I would try to find a leaf joystick and leaf pushbuttons, the clicky clacky gets old pretty quickly.
  8. Thanks for the link! Those are good prices for 19 inches.
  9. Nice! I'm using Game Launcher, so far so good, no complains man this cab is addictive, been playing 1942 all afternoon
  10. Thanks! I have a 15 mounted vertical for now. When I get some more extra cash, I'm getting a real arcade monitor. The cabinet is a little bit too big. If I have to do it again, I'm shaving at least 5 inches in the bottom, and I'd do it a little bit narrower.
  11. Control panel and bezel. I'm waiting for the wood filler to dry up so I can sand the cab. Next step is the monitor shelf.
  12. I wanted to post some pictures of the progress so far with the MAME cabinet. (No arcade cabinet was damaged during this part of the project)
  13. Thanks, I tried that, but then mame can't run. I don't have a problem running the last mame for DOS (063 I think) but it does not support ms pacman with the speed hack, and arcadeos for some reason wont create the game list neither. I found game launcher and works ok so far.
  14. well the monitor works fine now, but I'm having the little annoying problem that windows like to minimize the arcadeos window after using mame to play a game... grrr
  15. I did it, but to use with my commie 64. PITA if you ask me.
  16. the old 14 inch compaq does not have a degaussing coil. This one does. I did the 'turn off' rotate... wait, turn it on... worked great, all afternoon playing gunsmoke, galaga and ms pacman I'm going for the wood tomorrow to git it done
  17. ok, I've got the order from ultimarc, my old computer is up and running, and I found a 17 inch dell monitor in a pawnshop for 20 bucks. I have everything running fine, but when I turn the monitor around to play vertical games, the color gets all screwed up. I tried with another 17 inch and the results are worse. Same thing with my very old 15 inch compaq monitor. Any ideas? Thanks
  18. Um, ok. Actually the C-64 version may look better in some ways but I really want an example of how the c64 version is more like the arcade than the Atari 8-bit version. Only complaints I have of the Atari 8-bit version is that is does not say Wonderful after every 10 screens, it is probably a little harder to stop and throw the ball behind you than the arcade, They chose to use artifacted colors at the top and bottom for seom reason, and the copy protection used to make the drive a little noisy and when I upgraded to us doubler it only loaded half the time because the copy protection would cause a reboot. Well, is not 100% exact as the arcade, but the Mr. Do! version of C64 in my opinion is better than the atari version. The game that really brings the atari is Frogger programmed by John Harris.
  19. 17 inch brand new Samsung monitor for 39 bucks. It went to my wife's PC. I'm looking for another one for the mame machine
  20. go with the C-64, the ports of Mr. Do! and Ms. Pac-man in the C64 are like the real arcades. Tons of games, you can still find 2S2D disks, and making a XE1541 is easier than making a SIO2PC cable. I own both and the 800 is in the corner collecting dust (3 C64s and 2 800XLs)
  21. craigslist... I sold a bunch of stuff, is local and free. Too much freaking hassle with eBay.
