Thanks to everybody for the compliments and that score is great! I am terrible at my own game unfortunately. I wanted to address the early extended-time bonus issue so I have uploaded a test version below. Please let me know if this version is working as expected.
Destroyer 7800 (03262024) - Extended Time Fix.a78 32.13 kB · 17 downloads
Thanks. I’ll try to test again over the weekend.

We recently played Swoops! during our Atari Party Night. The three games are lots of fun and make for a great party game cart.
1. Splatform is highly addictive. Everyone wanted to “try one more time”.
2. Crash n’ Dive is a fast but fun twitch game and makes excellent use of the paddle controller.
3. Cave 1k was the reason I originally purchased my copy, but again I really enjoy all three games.
Btw, I really like the manual art/layout too. 🙂

Lookie! A snazzy Donkey Kong XM/ PK Review at Atari 7800 Forever's Youtube page!
What it first was, why it was, why it wasn't, and what it is now. #atari #donkeykong #DKIMO, DKPK/DKXM are the definitive home console versions of DK. I have one of each and they both work with the Atari 2600+.

Why were they built so bulky? 🤔
Partly to deal with the interference problems they were known for. I’ve never opened mine up to see what takes up the real estate, but they are bulky and have some weight to them.

That is some serious battery space thou! lol Were the batteries replaceable?
Each joystick uses a 9 volt battery. The bulkiness is not due to the batteries.

Here we go...
1. Atari Heavy Sixers
2. Vectrex
3. ColecoVision
4. INTY II
5. The original XBOX rounds out my Top 5. That was one cool looking console, especially the green Halo edition (which I do not own).
Honorable mention goes to the Atari 2800|Sears Video II Arcade|Atari 7800. Love that wedge design.

How responsive are they using them now?
They’re fine, just big & bulky. I have not tried them with the 2600+.

Just FYI these were in fact released, they work pretty well given the time they were released. Used radio frequency.
I use mine every now and then. They have been known to make an appearance during our game nights. Our friends get a kick out of them. Btw, another company (GameMate 2) also made them.

I don't know if Ben or anyone here has used the Best Electronics CX 40 but I find that to be the best compromise between microswitches and the dome type.
💯 agree. I ordered a pair when they first came out and liked them so much, that I ordered another pair. They work well, have a nice silicone boot, and a seven foot cord. If you prefer CX-40, I would recommend this joystick. I also like the CX-10s and have a couple pair in my collection. @Ben from Plaion if Atari were to make/sell joysticks with micro switches, I’d definitely buy them.

You can read about them here. In all honesty, it’s best to contact them by phone and ask for their Lifetime Gold CX40 with lifetime silicone boot and handle.

Dropped many quarters in the Pole Position Cockpit Cabinet back in the day! It was the highest grossing Arcade Game in 83/84. Also translated extremely well to the 5200 and the CX-52 joystick. Great work with everyone working on making the GSP even better!
We have a Pole Position Cockpit cabinet at one of our local "Game Preserve" arcades. Whenever I'm there, I never miss an oppotunity to play it. Totally agree that the CX52 works well with Pole Position. IMO the CX52 works well with Defender, Pole Position and Qix.
Game-on everyone!

is Good Luck, Charlie Brown playable?
Sadly, not much game play at all. You can move Charlie Brown around and extend his kite. With a 2nd joystick connected to Player 2, you can move the balloons, left & right across the screen. There's a write-up on the AtariProtos site.

All copies of HERO2 with serial number 200 or greater will work on the Atari 2600+. We made the necessary adjustments to run.
How can we order a copy? Please don’t say facebook.

Great episode. I had Defender and Donkey Kong BITD. I don't have any today, but I do have Asteroids and Missile Command (my two favorite coin-ops) from New Wave Toys. I turn them on keep the lights off in my Atari room, while I test/play games. Hearing them running in the background, helps create that game-room vibe.
