I think this would be a good candidate for a archiving and making atr disk.... I could see myself using this after making a few changes to transfer at pokey divisors at or close to zero! _The Doctor!__ This would save money on the electric bill.... my pc eats 90 watts or more all the time.... my Atari doesn't use nearly that much!

wow so many unfinished works... what's going on! Maybe this will get things rolling again!

In order for me to do this I would need a qumetrak dt8 or qume 842.... my drive A died and my drive B creates synchronization errors on disks now..... I tried to get one... and got screwed..... someone could send me old infrared leds, a cleaning disk (8 inch), or a replacement mech... I could try to repair or replace the set.... I just forgot about it with all trips to the doctor and didn't figure drive B would be bad as well....and I lost heart. Drive B needs alignment and for all the screws to be locked down with loc-tite... I no longer have the means to do so... Can't find alignment disk or oscilloscope so I bet they went with the 3 mega st's(one with viking moniterm video card) 3 ICD hard disks with tape backup and a supra shoebox.. They were stolen and sold on ebay from a valet seller in Ohio.... yes all these years later and the police now have that information.... If persons who received the stolen goods would return them I would not prosecute... I just want em back... spread the word... someone in the community has to have them and unless they have the viking already.. that video card is not being used to its potential... yes I still have the monitor... must have been too big and too heavy! I have two other 8 inch drives that worked when stored away.... but do not work with my compu pro or it's controller.... so any help would be appreciated and would at least get more stuff out to all of my very deserving Atari friends....

I posted a few translator goodies a while back to help people make their own translator disks and even demonstrated it would allow cartridges to run when hot swapped.... see if any of that is helpful as it should be..... you will have to adjust what it saves based on the length of the code in the rom..... good luck...

I wish when the atr gets modified by the the cart tool that is would put a flag in the header and name it differently.... seeing how everything blend together and creeps about over the years.... it would be a good idea...

depends on the cell phone.... My daughters phone kills disks... mine doesn't.... alot of things that used to be safe just aren't anymore... everything used to be shielded..... very little is shielded today.... a disk that is weak is easily affected by magnetic fields.... it could last forever in its weakened state... but is very susceptible to being corrupted by even weak fields now... best to make full backups of everything just in case... sector field density resembles a slightly blurry edge on old disks.... one drive might read it another may not.... and alignment is not always the case... it may come down to head sensitivity and signal amplification when dealing with ancient disks.... I blame both the phone and the disk.... it was the combination of the two....

don't try anything that 'will look bad' on a crt.... a great number of us Atari enthusiasts use crt's for a multitude of reasons! I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea someone even suggested such a thing....

Classic mistake.... make an issue by bringing it to everyone's attention.... snowball effect starts this way.... If xtreem did not draw anyone's ire... let's make sure to put it right in front of em and give them every reason to have a problem with it...

but we like real time clocks.... we can supply our own batteries! ethernet is always a happy welcome thing.....

I wish SpartaDosX kept the DA: thru DO: convention with E: P: and S: or E1: E2: P1: P2: P3: and S1: S2: !!!!! the current version where E: obliterates drive DE: or D4: when ever you use the standard commands or one of your hundreds of disks with batch file on them is really counter-intuitive.... it breaks so many things for no good reason...

These 3 roms do not work with MIO connected, Centipede Namco fonts, Atari Pac Man updated, and Q-bert discs. Sprint Title screen has high pitched note stuck, not sure if that is normal behavior... Title/Select screen on Asteroids emulater is scattered with garbage... press fire and it loads the emulation and proceeds to works normally.

I prefer not to tear apart and mess with the joy ports on my Atari(s) because of other things that rely on how it is and are already taking in to account whats on the ports.... I do like the reliable, possibly, slightly slower programming circuit that you have been creating. Can we make sure to keep this still working on stock unmodified Atari. I love it in it's simplest form!

did you wire up a y/c cable for it...

damn fine modification, How is the monitor for 80 columns... is the dot pitch fine enough to avoid the crappy moire patterns the commodore monitors produce, I hope this has the better dot pitched tube.

The one on the bottom and the supra one are the ones I had..... I found the supra and fear the icd one it with the mega st's and icd hard/ tape arrays that got stolen
