  1. You have brought joy to an otherwise rough day... thank you for this wonderful diversion!
  2. Did anyone investigate what the page1 segment does. in version 3? Is it a correction of some sort that fixes things? or an error that creates problems? Would be nice to have a utility that can be trusted!
  3. to make the older software work with a late model 7000 series or a 9000/9000a you need to change the program command to send like so P12A6B-dd dd dd$ WHERE: P means program followed immediately by location address then minus or dash(not a comma like the manuals states)datadata space datadata space datadata..... and $ returns you to programmers prompt it will fill each data pair into the next cell of the eprom address on and on if you separate them by space till you run out of space or hit a location that has data already in it the smack the dollar sign to finish.
  4. http://chiclassiccomp.org/docs/content/computing/VincentCate/TheCriticalConnection_UserReference.pdf The Manual... and soon as I am able the disks will follow...
  5. Looks like your making steps towards improving your situation greatly! There are number of GREAT programmers kjmann has gotten close to and they went from happy to frustrated to gone! It a shame because the talent he has seemingly turned off produced some very nice things and were working on some great titles.... I wish KJMANN all the best and hope his health and mind improves such that he and others around him gain happiness and mutual satisfaction. Thank you for giving us both your effort and this update!
  6. I needed to mention that this is for use with the 850 interface and earlier model GTEK programmers! this software could be easily updated to work with all the available interfaces and programmers with a little T.L.C. I was just messing with Bobterm and Express 850 term programs.... while the macro functions can be set to control the gtek later models handily... you need to remember the macro numbers... I wish they could be labeled and brought up as a selection menu! That would be a seriously nice update to all the terminal programs out there....!
  7. @1050 you are spot on again! Glad you are here! @kyle22 If the power supply ends up clean, the amp circuit is indeed the next step one day all the disk repair forum threads need to be consolidated and organized... a quick list of things to do in general order generated.
  8. and please remember one other thing about the old tapes, they sometime have tight and loose spots and are inconsistantly wound up for sitting and being knocked about in storage..... a few fast forward to the end rewind to the end cycles and the sound becomes more stable and suddenly a bad tape is a good tape!
  9. I always bring stuff up on a variac after long storage and don't put it to use until after about 4 hours, this leave time for capacitors to heal and prevents damage... If you don't have a variac use a 100 watt incandescent (old school glass filament) light bulb IN SERIES with the equipment coming out of storage... your equipment will thank you! I would leave it on for a day not connect or used but turned on, then I would try it, after that refer to the multitude of threads dealing with the drives their repair and troubleshooting....
  10. 1. First place to look is speed RPM needs to be correct. Use an rpm tester. make sure its dead on or one rev slower. 2. Check voltages and power are clean. (voltmeter then oscope) 3. Gently make sure are chips are pushed in. 4. Gently wiggle connectors (just enough to move them around but not bend / break anything and only gripping plastic not wire)
  11. Does anyone have or know of a repository of these magazines/ disks? I see Atarimania has only two titles in the games section... but I might have missed something
  12. I the mouse routine really mucking it up that bad? I thought someone finally licked that and came up with a routine that doesn't eat up so much any more...
  13. Anyone ever use T.H.E. Terminal from the Mace by T Giese? Very configurable and helpful terminal! better yet how about a list of term programs and their versions/fixes, and what the good and bad about them were... like bad y-modem etc
  14. I will try to assemble more stuff for you, but maybe I should just upload the parts and let the community stitch it together and make it all work. Might be better that way. I get a bit worn out...
  15. the problem may be the xc-12 tape door is terrible and must be straightened to keep from mucking up tape playback and tracks... once I did that, many things loaded that would not before... A few games seem to have a lot more to them and better versions when on tape.... very strange indeed!
  16. Not sure there is any difference someone can check along with some support files... GTKBTATU.ATR I hope it is understood I am just making sure they work and sending them I hope someone will perform a compare and make sure the best is kept and ditch the rest.
  17. For those that can't find the software when in the archives, the software is almost always tucked into the largest zip file and nowhere else in the archive... I need another hard drive.....
  18. stereo wav so we have data and audio? cool! Having had so many tape and cas file that never have the audio, or require the audio and since there is none... are useless all I can say is... thank you thank you thank you. Sure wished APE would at least play the audio over the pc if it didn't have the capability to send it to the Atari. Many of these fail to load, which is a real pain.... after having had my tea or sandwich only to find it never quite made it... on a way out there note.... with the higher capacity drives and the ability to play digitized sound while doing other things on the Atari some crazy person might resample the audio and move some of the audio required titles to disk now and play it from there... I mean why not?
  19. Nice! My daughter likes the trivia games
  20. On a side note I have found the interview of Anthony Weber By Scott Stilphen (2004) He worked on RockBall and Gyruss it's on another retro site and another interview on that Press site. I have the pieces and parts of other titles he mentions.. He states he has originals of the work... According to Joe it can be given to the public.
  21. The Documents for the programmers are at the GTEK site...
  22. and here you go.... Gtek Programmer Comm Software sprinkled with some other goodness GTEKPAMT.ATR oh and you can always enjoy the BTA programmer comm software as well... Looks close doesn't it? BTAEPRO.ATR
  23. I was reading the necro-forums and noticed that while some people have the GTEK programmers and some were considering buying them for their Atari, no one seemed to have the cable or software to actually use it. Aside from messing about with a terminal program and hoping for the best and knowing what the commands are.... I hope to have something for you by tomorrow... Both the GTEK and BTA programmer software (mostly the same program actually) are being made ready for upload. This should make for a brighter day. My version of RSN (real soon now)
  24. If you get the image straight as possible dot matrix OCR's very nicely, maybe a scan, ocr, touch up and import into the Atari? Text files can be sent to entered into basic, yes?
