  1. wow that's really thinned out compared to what you used to have. I am amazed.
  2. not too mention the 800XL roll out being delayed 1 year due to Trammy being Trammy no Christmas for you, late late late.
  3. These and more using duck duck go. If you want more try archive.org also, try lothereks site under kits, diy, pcbs etc. I want people to be able to help themselves just a wee tiny little bit. another tip, use image tools to pull harder to see numbers by adjusting brightness contrast and sharpness
  4. No, I just don't believe saying- SO you didn't find ANYthing either in the snippy smart ass style... was the route to go. I found plenty old and new. There is both PDF and Word documents for the various versions, mostly the same at first not until 2.5/3 does it get very different. Also looking at the DOCX file the pictures scale when using zoom or original and you can read some of the numbers on the parts. I don't wanna do this or that didn't help either. No one responded but after I gave some information expecting a modicum of effort at that point . well - Then the other unhelpful comment came. So I don't know why people write about whatever someone else did or said, as they themselves provided nothing. Others then made some offerings. Hint use magnifier or zoom to read the image...
  5. LMGTFY is no longer a function I perform. but for the truly snippy I provide a way to see plenty of options including the actual installation pdf etc. that you don't need to join in order to download. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=atari+simple+stereo+install&t=ffab&ia=web so hard to type atari simple stereo install or other key words Mr. Smarty Pants
  6. why turn it off? a tri colored or bi color LED will show power and drive activity and is a mod already listed out on the forum including freeing the power light tower to act as a button. also a capacitive sensor mod was done so it senses when a finger approaches it for the button if you don't want to modify plastiv things.
  7. Didn't MAGIC get made for other architectures and was to unify the experience across machines like Magic. I bought a copy of it.
  8. 2. This Svideo to HDMI converter supports 16:9 aspect ratio, does not support 4:3 aspect ratio. direct from the manual. Crappy Converter.
  9. not alot to go on, make model manufacturer , if the thing even has a menu or setup function
  10. the problem would be whatever is converting your Atari from svideo / composite / rf to hdmi
  11. what happens when you turn auto on? do the other options also change. The TV should be sensing 480 4:3 what is your connection method and to what inputs? The manual shows what modes are available to each input jack/connector. might be time for reset of each section, and then a full factory reset, again outlined in the pdf manual.
  12. No the answering machine carts were lent to Curt and haven't been returned.
  13. You literally have wide mode on full and you have zoom on... Turn them off. You show them in your menus!
  14. clean and splay the legs on all chips slightly towards sock swipes. inspect for whiskers and bits o debri
  15. wide off zoom off to start. you need the better remote.
  16. nice boxes, now if I can just dig up the photos of those cards, because they were online at one time as well.
  17. @Ricky Spanish 480/60I YES 480/60P YES the monitor always puts out a wide screen display, but will accept 480 i and p and put black on both sides of the picture to display Here are several options to do what you want. the controls will allow you to select zoom modes that can approximate the image you are looking for. a scan doubler can work with this television to get you the image you are looking for as well You need to make sure that fill modes are not selected and then choose an appropriate zoom mode. Your screen will be too small a height or too stretched otherwise. This is not a perfect solution bet I suspect you are in fill modes, which will not allow proper zoom mode selection. Turn off Auto mode Turn on Normal Press screen symbol repeatedly to select the desired screen format. 4:3 is directly supported no zoom needed. button 19 hmm, manual https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4270/42704811M.pdf
  18. what make and model so we might see what could be done
  19. The 1702/1701 have a 0.64mm dot pitch. It doesn't end well for many a machines chosen display parameters. Contrast this with a PVM's of 13" that have a range of 0.32-0.42 pitch, aperture grille. And of course those that offer .2x mm etc. It's up to the user to find their sweet spot.
  20. panasonic made a number of color printers you could use bet they need an interface, you would need to supply the driver.
  21. and JVC had crap models and good models as well, like most. in this instance just because they supplied a pcb or tube etc does not mean it was great, even if they manufactured this or that complete product for whomever. JVC made great stereos and crap stereos, they also made cheap stuff under other badges and labels. So what exactly does that add to the sub optimal display of the 1702? NEC made some great displays as well. Of course reading the whole text might help with CONTEXT. but this is the way of the forums. Most 1702's give off moire / artifacts and do not fair well with 80 column display etc. full stop. There are better choices. If I have to choose between a 1702 and most LCD, I'll take the 1702 for game play. I stand by this. For just about anything else you are better off with something else better in the CRT world. If you just want some slide shows or 80 columns etc- LCD or Monochromatic displays are fine.
  22. the commodore monitor will take the s video out of the Atari adapted to rc jacks into the L C A of the monitor. The most of the commodore monitors have a terrible dot pitch and mask that does not lend itself to a very good picture this leads to moire patterns and he like. You are much better off with most toshiba,magnavoc/rca/thompson/optima/jvc or even certain sony, gold star tube television and monitors that have multiple inputs as well as controls that allow for superior display. the commodore monitor is better than most LCD displays for game play as there is no lag, so It will do until you have something better. Stick with better dot pitch and better mask tubes if you want the best of all things including 64/80 column text output, no lag, and beautiful graphics/slide shows as well as VBXE/XEP80 or better add ons into the future.
