I saw a documentary on counterfeit art last week. IIRC they claimed that 60% of all art sold are fake, and that it takes more and more work to determine real from fake. If nothing else, it is a great way to demonetize a hobby, making it nearly impossible to collect for later resale value.

That's a good thing. Because. Monetization limits progress and availability of things in the hobby.

People have been making reproduction carts for as long as people have been making carts. It's not a new problem. Anyone with a camera or scanner and a printer can easily print labels. I'm not going to watermark the scans on AtariAge, and generally the resolution of the cart scans here is poor to use them to print high-quality labels.
