The Nyko track-ball which is functionally the equivalent of the PS1 mouse (and takes advantage of PS1 mouse support in compatible games), works for me on my PS One.

Presumably the eBay listing you quoted from is suggesting that it doesn't work on this major budget redesign of the original Playstation (Although the acronym "PS1" usually is used by fans in reference to Sony's 1st generation platform in general, I'm guessing that they must've meant to say "PSOne" which typically is used specifically to label this redesign).

    Yes, that's the listing

  2. PS mouse info -

    from a ebay listing

    PLAYSTATION MOUSE CONTROLLER

This is a brand new mouse controller for your Playstation. I don't think it works for ps2. It Does not work for ps1 or the slim ps2. we are 100% sure of this as these 2 systems do not provide power thru the controller ports which are required for the mouse to work. This mouse was designed for the original FAT Old Grey style psx system.  It is for specific mouse controller games.YThe PlayStation Mouse (US/UK: SCPH-1090, JP: SCPH-1030) is an input device for the PlayStation console that allows the player to use a mouse as a method of control in compatible games. The mouse was released in Japan on December 3, 1994, the launch date of the PlayStation.
The mouse itself is a simple two-button ball mouse that plugs directly into the PlayStation controller port without adapters or conversions and is a fully supported Sony accessory. It was packaged along with a mouse mat bearing the PlayStation logo.

The mouse is mainly of use to point and click adventures and other mouse-driven games to control the cursor. In later years, first-person shooters also make use of the peripheral to aim the player's view in the same manner as similar games on the PC. It is also used by the arcade lightgun shooting game Area 51 as an aiming device instead of a light gun compatibility.[
